  1. any specific predictions scorewise?

DHS 21 DC 7 . DC can be beaten by the pass , their defensive backs are too short to cover . Number 71 is their best rusher , he swaps from one side to the other if the DHS qp can audible away from his rush they will have many long drives . good luck to both teams just what I've seen from watching both teams play . DHS , while not having any d1 players has a very solid and well rounded high school football team . Until we meet again ,

  2. Who takes this region game????

The team with the most points at the end of the night , Both teams are working hard preparing for what the opponent has been doing this year . The coaches and the kids on both sides have the want to win , or they wouldn't put the hard work in otherwise . Injuries have hurt both teams this year . The team with the best players tomorrow night ON the field will get win and play off spot . I'm looking foward to a hard fault game without any serious injuries . We welcome DC and their fans to Ripley the city of hospitality . GO TIGERS /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

  3. No horse in the race, but the kid would have to have a change of residence if he is in highschool. Otherwise he would have to sit out a year. 1a and 3a has nothing to do with it as far as transfer rules.

The schools are in the same county and I've already seen it done over the last two years . There are several kids from Ripley going to Halls because of student makeup , sorry to bring up politics . /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

  4. it's easy to pick on people a third your size...isn't it? it's like a high school kid picking on a elementary kid. the fight has never been fair. any time a school has 3 times the number of students, they are going to have more to choose from. and if Halls wasn't treated like the red-headed step-child maybe they, with the same number of students, could compete with big ole powerful Ripley. But when the athletes are fighting not only numbers but bureaucracy, it makes it difficult. and to bring athletes into the equation that would be stars no matter where they were is ludacris. that isn't the standard for ripley...i'm shocked that you didn't mention the star baseball players from ripley. it's true that the same caliber athlete has a better opportunity to be seen at a larger school, but that doesn't mean they are less of an athlete. you should have 3 athletes to Halls 1...oh wait you do...so...next time you say maybe we should drop down to 1A and play Halls schedule and you'll win state...try it, but remember you have to get rid of 1/3 of your athletes...not the bench warmers, but the starters...halls can keep what they have. then matchup. oh wait...in your opinion...halls would be ripley's bench warmers. must stink getting beat by one of the worst teams in west tn over the past decade...and no offense the players didn't consider it to be a scrimmage until they lost. players hate to lose. coaches hate to loose. oh next time you feel like running your mouth remember what it felt like to get hit in it like this past friday. ya'll were the team to win the region and you couldn't even score. maybe you can have some luck with covington because so far you're o-fer going up 51. and who has ever heard of a purple tiger? seems kinda soft to me...

Sorry I hurt your feelings , you won a PRACTICE at Newbern . I didn't comment on baseball because this is a football board . If you'll wipe them tears from your eyes and read the top of the page . But truth is Ripley is still better than Halls in football . Good luck in the rest of your season . P.S. I think a kid could transfer to RHS and not loose a year of eligibility moving UP from 1a to 3a Ripley and seek that scholarship .

  5. Bolivar has lost three games by just a little bit. If they dont get down from the close losses, then they'll give Dyersburg a game. But, in the end, Dyersburg pulls out another close one over Bolivar.

Go Tigers! Step up and beat the Trojans.

It won't be that close . RHS had 475 yds. to BHS 150 and DHS completly dominated RHS . DHS by a bunch .

  6. Is the one kid in the NFL Renardo Foster?....RONALD HOLLAND has some STRONG GENES....He is the father of Renardo and Ramon Foster ( UT)....Former UT basketball player Ron Slay...and former Memphis Tiger Rodney Carney.....Former Covington Star is the father of ALL FOUR KIDS....Holland would have played in the NFL if he hadn't torn up a knee at TSU ...I firmly believe that...6-3 and 245 and 100 yard dash champion.....

Yes , and Ramon will be in the NFL next year . Brian Flag plays DE for division 1 Ark. State and the best looking athlete I've ever met in person and I've met alot over the last two years . He will probaly be in the NFL . Ripley won't be region champs this year , but I'm proud that I and my two sons have played win or loose for Ripley , a team rich in football heritage . Proud to be a RIPLEY TIGER!!!!!

  7. Alright Old Tiger,

You piped off at the mouth all last /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> week, I have a bucket of crow waiting on you. Different year same story. Ripley plays this soft schedule gets them thinking their better than they really are. If they played Dyersburg 20 times, it would be the same result as Friday night. They whipped them in every facet of the game. No, I'm not from Dyersburg or a Dyersburg supporter. What you don't understand is: When you play these weak teams your kids get in bad habits that makes you worse not better. Then they get in a real battle and they fold their tent like they did Friday night. Ripley can't win the big one because they don't step out and play nobody outside the region that makes them better. Yea they beat Bolivar but obviously they've been over rated as well too!

Ketchup may make that crow taste a little better!

I got half of my wish ,nobody got hurt on either side . Dyesburg has a solid ball team . I'm not going to whine like you . 3 years ago we played Mannassas and hung 50 on them and 3or 4 weeks later they hung 50 on Halls . Manassas has never come close to beating Ripley . If we played in little 1a we probally be state champs . Ripley has 9 former students playing colledge football and one in the NFL as we speek . How many does Halls have? If I was a kid with any talent I won't play for Halls , I would play over here where you would have a chance of getting a scholarship .

  8. Good luck to both teams tonight,I say it will be 21-14 but will not say who wins. GO TIGERS U GOTTA BELIEVE!!!!!!!

Time is getting close , I think Ripley has a real good shot of winning this game tonight . Win or not I hope none of the kids on either side get any serious injuries . We welcome Dyesburg Trogans and their fans to Ripley the city of hospitality . GO TIGERS /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

  9. Old Tiger,

That's just it add up all the stats you want to, don't nobody care. It's either a win or a loss do I a put a check in the win column or the lost column plain and simple. Ripley reminds me of Memphis State "we almost won!" "We came close" "they knew we was there" all exlanations of check marks going in the LOSS column

Thats why I sad no EXCUSSES , would you like some chesse with that whine? Don't hate , APPRECIATE them big tigers can play some ball , come over friday night and see for youself . If your momma won't bring you , you could ride your bike its only 8 miles to where the big tigers play . /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  10. anyone outside of bolivar? go take a look at liberty techs schedule. theyre 4-2. thats definitely somebody.

stevie ray is a dyersburg guy. halls hasnt beat dyersburg in anything. and wont. thats the only defending ill do of dyersburg on here. ever. hold me to it. why are you runnin your mouth about ripley? you live in halls where the population is 15. get a life.

Ripley had about 200 more yards rushing , more 1st downs , more stops for loss yardage aginst Liberty , but fumbled the ball away on two drives inside their 10 yd line after driving the ball 60 or 70yds . Only a few points keep Ripley from being 5 and 0 . No excusses , just as I veiwed it from the 50 yd. line . Can't wait till friday night . Good luck until we meet again . /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

  11. IT'S A CRYING SHAME THAT RIPLEY AND HALLS DON'T PLAY IN THE REGULAR SEASON IN FOOTBALL. THEY PLAY EACH OTHER IN ALL OTHER SPORTS. BOTH PROGRAMS COULD USE THE GATE I'M SURE AND TALENT WISE , OBVIOUSLY THEIR CLOSE. DRAW THE CONTRACTS UP AD'S AND LETS GET IT STARTED. QUIT TALKING AND LET'S PLAY IT BETWEEN THE WHITE LINES!

I think we might be able to work something up for our next homecoming next year? P.S. How long has it been since yall had a winning season in 1a? Wat yall win last year, like 2 games? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  12. Mediocre?? here is the Tomcat story.

Tomcats play week 0 v. 4A JCM and win (people forget that part) Week 0 team is totally different... different qb and different attitude. lots of teams would love a week 0 win.

the 2 losses for the Tomcats were close games that the Tomcats were in, against 4A Kingsbury and undefeated 5-0, 5A Memphis Kirby. The tomcats could play teams like Frayser and Raliegh Egypt and be 6-0 right now but they choose to play with the big boys.

    Against 3A teams this year... Haywood has only allowed 10 points in 3 games v. 3A. including Dyersburg, /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Crockett /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> and Fayette-ware while posting up 101 points against those teams.

    101 to 10. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

    Mediocre??

Alot of good numbers , Ripley has alot of respect for Haywood , after friday night we should know how the region is shaping up . Good luck to all until we meet again.

  14. Is this the same Ripley team that got beat by Halls in the Dyer County first look scramage, of have that improved alot? Ripley didn't look good at all in the Halls scramage.

A scrimage is meerly a form of practice so the coaches can run their starters against another teams starters . JUST PRACTICE . Ripley killed JCM in a srimage , JCM killed Haywood in a game . I don;t think Ripley can kill Haywood , a victory will make me a happy camper. If you think Halls could beat Ripley in a game you don't know much about football. Why do you think they play in 1a we play in 3a.

  15. Is this the same Haywood team that had no offense against JCM?

I don't understand because Ripley scrimaged JCM and if had been a real game , Ripley would have won by 50 , no contest at all . Hawood sent 4 players to Lane and one to Bethel so you know thats got to hurt . I believe Dyesburg lost alot too . 7-3a will be alot different this year.

  16. last time the tomcats came to newbern, they shut us out. will they do it again? will dyer county seek revenge?

i believe whoever wins this will win the region. any thoughts?

Cats look to be heading for 1 or 2 place in 7-3a this year . It's early and injuries could come in to play down the stretch. Cats should take this one . It looks to me that DC must have lost alot of key players to graduation , they don't look to be the 7-3a team of last year.

  17. I have no idea...obviously wouldn't have mattered what their classification was....they came out to play ball!! I was not there...listened to some of it on the radio. DC HAS the talent....have NO IDEA what is going on. Need to pull it together for next weeks game.

Are you the mother of iast years qb? I seen freshman qb for DC this week , future looks bright for DC .

  18. Well Riplay totally dominated this game. They held Bolivar under 150 total yards i think. and the score was very deceiving (28-25) Bolivar scored no Offensive TDs.

Ripley had arround 500 yards and most on the ground and should have had 50 pts. The refs made terrible calls . Even the radio guy said there was alot of home cooking going on .

  19. I don't think that is it because I watched Munford on film and they looked bad. It is going to be a down year for the Cougars. I like Coach Beaubien he seems like a nice guy it is going to take a little while to get used to his offensive style. Brighton is where the players are going, but the county is really getting evened out. Down years come around every now and then.

I seen the 8th grade play last year agaist Ripley and they looked to have some really good talent on the way . Tipton county is growing but more so on the Munford end .
