  1. -Fulton is now in third place in their district behind 2nd place Gatlinburg-Pittman and first place Pigeon Forge losing to PF by double digits last week.  Pigeon Forge went 3 weeks with 2 of their top three players hurt at the same time but have both girls back now and their COACH is always a difference maker.  I don't know where they should be ranked, but I don't see the other teams from their district being above them without having beaten them.  GP may win tomorrow night to share first place but both teams have beaten Fulton.  PF is also the only girls program from that district that has made the state tournament in the last 5 years.

You are right GP and PF have began to seperate themselves from Fulton and the AP should reflect that but as we know the AP rankings sometimes are hard understand. If you look like the AP though closely you can see that the AP voters have a large gap between the 6th ranked GP and 7th ranked teams (Smith Co. & Fulton). The top 3 teams are only seperated by a total of 4 points. The next 3 (4-6) spots are seperated by 19 total points. Then a gap of almost 40 points between 6th & 7th.

  2. Thoughts? Probably move Columbia up and Mo West down. I'm I the only one that thinks Heritage is better than Mo West?

  3. I was being sarcastic, the only team that will give them much of a game is Clarkrange. UC cannot beat Jackson County, and until they prove on the floor they can even compete with them there is no way you can put them ahead of us. Houston Co. has a nice squad this year but their schedule is so soft it will cost them in the end. Don't know anything about Meigs Co. but realistically they shouldn't be able to beat a JC or a Clarkrange. Middleton is not even in the conversation, they would be considered a bye if we drew them in the first round of the tourney. No disrespect because they have a lot of athletes but they won't seriously challenge this year. District 7A will take home the gold again this year yet again.

Yeah you are probably right about Middleton, thought about that as soon as I looked at it again. Meigs is pretty good I think. I've heard alot about Houston Co. this year.

  4. Roughly at the mid point of the season for most of the teams across the state and I thought it would be interesting to take a stab at the rankings before the AP polls come out in January. This is just my opinion and I have seen some of these teams but of course not all (not that different than the AP voters LOL so some of this is just what I've heard or using past performance) so please feel free to disagree or agree and post your own. Of course, the records are just the games reported on CoachT.

  5. Just remember one of those 7a teams was lucky to be in the finals last year-an 0-eight minute scoring drought and they won by 1 pt in overtime on a missed lay up at the buzzer.....just saying........and I must agree that these polls are out of touch.....you dont jump 4 teams that did not lose on the basis of 1 win.....Also keep in mind that there is one team out there that has not lost a game to a tennessee opponant

Well I guess that S-Town was lucking just to be in the semi's since you had to beat Lake Co. in OT........you really wanna play that game?
