Reynolds was asleep at the wheel at East. When CCS has to move up to AAA next cycle he'll either retire or go somewhere else. Boyd should handle CCS for years to come.

Boyd should figure out a way to end their losing streak against Silverdale before they start worrying about CCS…

Aren’t fouls part of the game?  Bearden won it all last year and they were never really challenged. Bradley beat a very young Bearden team. My money is on Bearden unless BC recruits more players in the offseason. Which is highly possible.

LOL - you do know that at least 2 of the studs on last year’s Bearden “won it all” team were “transfers” that started previously at another Knoxville area high school don’t you? Both play in college.
If you didn’t know that, you probably don’t need to talk… if you did know it, then LOL.

You serious clark? i make an innocuous discussion post and you come in guns hot?  Surely this paranoia is not indicative of the whole OR fanbase?

Willie is still trembling from when a 5-5 #4 seed Walker Valley (who had probably never won a playoff game before) came up there in the first round of the playoffs back in 2017 or so & beat Tee Higgins & a much more talented OR team.

Winner gets the second round draft picks out of the Chattanooga and North Georgia eighth grade prospect pool. (metaphorically speaking, of course). First round picks already taken.

    Correct!

According to older Bradley fans the McMinn game is the biggest. From about 1970 forward Cleveland became the biggest game because of being in the same county. Most Bradley Countians I know still consider the McMinn game more important than the Walker Valley game.

I was talking about the players at Bradley, not the senior citizens.

I believe  kees  improved alot from week 2 to 3.

I think this may be the biggest understatement all year. After McMinn didn’t score a TD vs Cleveland, I thought they must be down this year. Then they go & drill a quality Rhea County team.
I think the Bears may open up the offense a little more in this non District game, so hopefully it will be close & the Bears can squeek by for a 3rd straight ‘rivalry’ win. Unfortunately, Bradley doesn’t look at this game as much as rivalry as McMinn does, so I expect McMinn players to want it a little more. I have to pick my Bears 27-24, but nothing would surprise me.

Actually its the second oldest continuous played game in TN. South Pit and Marion Co. is first.

It will be the 99th game played between the two old rivals. Overall record is 41-54-3 in Bradleys favor.

Well, except South Pitt & Marion County aren’t playing this year, so that series is not “continuous”. That’s why it’s worded that way. South Pitt & MarionCo have played more.

Board has been stale so here is a little spice.  I put all D2 schools in one pot:

    1. LA - no question

    2. McCallie - reloaded

    3. CPA - still well coached

    4. MBA - solid on both sides of the ball.  Defense will be good

    5. BA - massive young O-line

    6. MUS - returns solid Defense

    7. Baylor - decent returning team with a new college HC

    8. Knox Catholic

    9. Lausanne

    10. Christian Brothers

I couldn’t justify Pope Prep to myself to be in top 10.  Loaded skill positions but lost there entire O-line I believe.  I wanted DCA to make it because they have a great coach,  but don’t see them beating any team listed.  Now let’s here it!

Sorry if already asked, but why doesn’t LA move up & play with the big boys? This isn’t meant to be derogatory. Just asking. Thanks.

Not trying to be disrespectful but there is absolutely no comparison between Boyd and McCallie or Baylor when it comes to money, facilities or academic reputation.

100% agree. The athletic facilities at Baylor & McCallie are closer to SEC level than they are to Boyd.
Brainerd HS is across the street from Boyd & they will get more of their ‘better than average’ guys, but Baylor & McCallie will continue to get the bulk of the DI talent (major exception would be a non-academic qualifier for Baylor/McCallie). Probably will get kids from Tyner & Norte Dame feeders too, but won’t win many battles with the Big 2.

If it plays out like i think it will Stone(#1)will get in the same bracket as White County(#3). That becomes a tough bracket.

But who knows. That's why they play the games.

Yes. Wasn’t trying to slight White Co. But opening round game will be much tougher than playing East Ham.

District tournament game. Stone plays Cookeville for championship on Monday.

BIG game. Loser will host Cleveland in first round & probably travel to Bradley in Region semi’s. Other side of bracket will be easier, with White County as primary hurdle.

OMG!   Please tell me that I don’t have to cheer for WC to win tomorrow.   Someone please correct me if I am wrong.  3 way tie for first and will be decided by coin toss if WC wins vs Stone.  1.Stone, 2.Cookeville, 3 White if Stone wins?

Coin toss could go either way.  But is worth the chance for a #1 seed.  Not really a big difference between 2-3 in most years but this year the higher seed will play at home.  I just don’t know if I can do it.....

Being a 1 seed is huge, especially when it’s a 3 team race.
