  1. Riverdale won their 7 on 7 tourney today. beat mt juliet in championship game.
  2. i talked to someone that went to dalton 7on7, said it went good. got alot of work done. played 11 games. was in every game. no blowouts. the team that won it beat riverdale in overtime. said dillon looked good. ricardo terry was a playmaker. riverdale 7 on 7 is tomorrow 830 am. last 7 on 7 then its time to get the pads on and play real football.
  3. not alot going on right now because of dead period. saw where dillon was completely released. several 7 on 7 camps the week after dead period. i think they help the boys bond and come together as a team and helps timing mostly for receivers and qb, but doesnt mean alot as far as winning.usually the teams that win alot of 7 on 7's does'nt fair well in district seven.different story with pads on.we are about a month out before first scrimmage. hang in there guys.
  4. wish i could say that. kicking game lost us a few games 2 years ago, but we had a sophomore snapper and holder, so not all kickers fault. this year they will be seniors. and i hear the soccer kickers are really good prospects. maybe the stars are lining up right this year and i don't mean the siegal stars.
  5. not sure about Dillon punting yet, but as for a field goal kicker no returning experience. i think there are going to be some soccer players come out this fall and give it a go.
  6. i think that is a typo, we will go to brighton. the only game i know was changed is the Maplewood game. they will come to us again.
  7. Mariko hurt his hand and was not dressed, he was walking around with neon orange cast on hand. # 9 was senior josh hatfield started offensive tackle last year. 5 was austin mcgrone going to be soph. 16 is davis denardo senior. 25 is draco little oakland transfer who had to sit out last year because of transfer.# 3 chanton pace soph. #4 is cris hurst senior is his second year at riverdale come from station camp. # 11 is joey kolakowski a soph. i think riverdale did really well with a freshman/sophomore at QB. they started pulling first team after first few series and playing alot of young guys inorder to get some experience. alot of those guys were freshman soon to be sophomores. score ended at 7-1. gallatin had negative yards on our first 7 scores, but finally got on the board with riverdales JV second string. cant wait to see this team with dillon, mariko and some of the baseball players in lineup.Could be special.
  8. i heard the scrimmage is going to start around 5:30 friday. probably will have a freshman at qb. young kids looked better today, still along way to go. cris holcomb is a beast on defensive line.
  9. Tad is #4, i was thinking same thing about depth. big drop off between 1st and 2nd team. but thats what spring practice is for. hopefully between scrimmages and 7 on 7 they can develope some depth before first game.
  10. practice is going good. see alot of potential. first team looks good but there is a big drop off with second team. 2nd team offense just needs alot more reps. no flow. scrimmage next week will be hard to judge without Dillon. back up QB's are working hard but just dont have experience or talent of dillon. there is not to many dillon's that come along too often. Riverdale should be on top of thier game and be fine come Fall.
  11. may 11th is only scrimmage, gallatin comes to us. the other scrimmage was cancelled. im not sure but think it was because franklin has a new coaching staff. warriors looked good for first practice, you could tell young guys were kind of gun shy. defense has a chance to be really good, especially up front. i think there is more speed this year, and bigger boys on line. Tad stood out most on offense, he has grown a bunch and got alot faster, should be a playmaker at reciever. dillons arm strength and accuracy looked really good. lots of work to do, but over all excited about this year. Go Warriors!
  12. peyton phillips won over all pound for pound most weight and scotty boykin was very close second.they were both over 1100 pounds for the three lifts bench, squat and cling. dillon woodruff could only do bench but looked good running around in the gym. cris holcomb is strong as an ox, but scratched on a lift. looks like we will be fine up front, on O and D. several lineman got plenty of playing time last year. hatfield, holcomb, maxwell, ivy, aydelott, martin, hopefully some of the other big boys will step in for depth.i geuss we will get a better look this monday, spring practice is here! Go Warriors!!!!!
  13. Spring practice has been moved to Monday April 23.
  14. most likely, dillon will be held out. other Qb's are chanten pace, joey koolakowsky, shawn culp, all are incoming sophomores, and one senior chris hurst who transfered from station camp last year. chris got alot of reps on JV last year.
  15. sorry, i meant last week in april and first week of may.
  16. not sure how its going to be, but im sure there will be one. big fund raiser every year.
  17. just hitting weight room hard and getting bigger faster and stronger.
  18. scotty boykin will be wrestling in the final match for the 195 # state championship tomorrow.great job scotty
  19. i think your right about Ricardo, i felt like he was one of Riverdales better backs. At fullback i think it will go back to a dual threat where Boykin and Phillips will get most of the spring reps to see where they are. there was some big sophomore lineman last year that should step in. i think there is 3 or 4 returning to build around.cant wait until spring. how is the rest of the district shaping up.
