1. QUOTE(Vincent the Amazing @ Mar 29 2007 - 06:34 PM) 826426009Temple is very lucky to get a guy like Caleb Marcum, sure Greg would have been a great choice, but Greg did not want the job...He still has to finish school anyway.....I believe that Caleb will be a very good coach....I am sure that there will be an adjustment period for him, being the AD and head basketball coach and new father and husband, but there is no doubt in my mind he will do a great job!!!

Everyone on here is so quick to bash him, when most of you dont even know him.....If you truly are Temple fans then give the guy a chance before you get on here and start bashing him....

Read all the posts before you accuse everyone. From the beginning I supported him, and I believe he will do fine

  2. I would also like to add that she asked Pasture nicely. At least respect her wishes. If you were offended by someone's comments about someone in your family, wouldn't you react? This isn't coacht material. You're letting it get too personal, so for her sake, why not just email her?

  3. Caleb will do fine. He is a Temple High School graduate and he has played temple ball. He played for Templeton, and Wadley his senior year. I could be wrong, but I think that was the year. Of course it will take time to build his team. He will get to know them and get into a style of playing, whether it is what he was taught, or if he has his own style. The point is that he will need time to build the program back up. I am sure there will be a lot of critics along the way. Temple people just need to pray for Caleb to seek God's wisdom and for the school.

  4. QUOTE(HoopsterPlaya @ Mar 19 2007 - 10:35 PM) 826418028When did he say this after the Humboldt game and where did you hear it or read it?

It was said in the paper on Sunday morning. After the CSAS game. this guy doesn't know what he is talking about. just ignore him, hoopster poopster. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

  5. QUOTE(backinthaoc @ Mar 19 2007 - 01:02 PM) 826417546Number one and two in what??.....CSAS should be the preseason favorite to win their district....

What is the word on McMasters??.....

    He means Region 3.

    Temple is District 5

    CSAS is District 6

  6. QUOTE(icecold06 @ Mar 19 2007 - 02:16 PM) 826417606I dont think that East Lit team could have won they wouldnt have beat CSAS or Culleoka

I agree, that basically meant Temple or Humboldt or Wartburg. I didn't want to single them out though

  7. The whole tournament, I believed that who ever won the Temple/East Lit/Wartburg/Humboldt side of the bracket, would win State.

I saw Cully play and wasn't 100% impressed. I built up in my head that they were a great team. But I did only see one game played by them this year. I can't base their season on one performance.

I didn't see Wartburg, but I was suprised that the Humboldt/ Wartburg game was closer than I expected.

I say: Temple, Humboldt, split between Wartburg and CSAS, Cully...etc

But Temple did beat a team from each area: middle, west, then east!

  8. Yeah, but things change. Temple may gain a big guy. Ben Montgomery, who sat on the bench, may work really hard this summer and improve. Jeremy, Brandon, and James Kemp will all improve. I can state that as a fact. Jeremy will have to take over as a leader. With the seniors gone, he has two years to make this his team. He will come out of his shell. Even though James is small, that man is dedicated to basketball. He is in the gym 24/7. Plus, he has improved a lot.

I believe next year will be a re-building year, and Temple will struggle.Everyone has these kinds of seasons. When Jeremy, Brandon, and James are seniors, I believe they will work great as a team. Good luck to Temple next year!

Another big factor is who will coach. Temple doesn't need to settle for the first guy that comes around. It's hard to replace Templeton, Wadley, and Skogen.

  9. QUOTE(treefitty74 @ Mar 18 2007 - 09:22 PM) 826416722If thats real basketball then I'm gonna start watching soccer /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> .......

I was so bored watchin the Single A games....CSAS didn't need to be in the 'Ship......Clearly, the championship was won in the semifinals..... Congrats to Temple, but I would have rather seen Humboldt/Temple in the 'Ship that CSAS....That was a good game....

I agree with you. Friday was the better game.

On the topic of UC being better or Temple. We can't really judge that. Humboldt beat UC. Temple beat Humboldt. But that kind of stuff happens in high school basketball.

To really determine who is better, we would have to see Temple vs. UC, and in that game Skogen vs. Brown. But we will never ever see that happen...

  10. QUOTE(Rebel96 @ Mar 17 2007 - 10:56 PM) 826415765If you call Jordan Damron a ball hog you definitley have to say the same for Tyrone Caldwell. Caldwell was 7-25 from the field where as Damron was 8-18.

if you actually read my post, you would see that i corrected myself and said he was not a ballhog, but tried to shoot 3's from no man's land too many times.

  11. I have to agree and say #5 is a ballhog. He tries to shoot too many threes. Actually it's not that he's a ballhog. It is that he tries to shoot too many threes...and they are so deep too. That was a great game. I was pullin for Mairvul (correct pronunciation) the whole time. That was a great shot at the end. Congrats to Eldridge on a successful first year!

  12. Congrats to my boys Temple. Wasn't even close. We all know the Temple/Humboldt game was basically the championship game.

Congrats to CSAS on a great season. That team will do well next year.

Seth Skogen should have won Mr. Basketball. He is well deserving of that, but congrats to the guy from UC

Dee should have received some kind of award. That was pretty lame.

Congrats to everyone who made the team though.

  13. QUOTE(goandgetit @ Mar 16 2007 - 04:50 PM) 82641441761 Humboldt 63 Temple....I guess the west just can't compete with the east.....

actually Humboldt did a pretty good job. Temple had a big lead and Humboldt tied it up. Thankfuly Temple just proved they were worthy in the last minute. Both teams played a great game!

  14. Region Championship Temple didn't play to their best ability. They went in not caring as much. CSAS has a lot of heart and can pull the upset. If Temple doesn't go in wholeheartedly then they may get beat.

Either way, congrats to Reg 3A and East Tennessee!

  15. Wow! I just got on a computer in Murfreesboro.

iownyou, thanks for getting my back even though it got a little crazy. emotions fly high on this site.

to everyone else, iownyou and i are not the same person.

i do not mind the opinion of others, but it bothers me when people say temple is not good and that seth isn't mr. basketball worthy just because of one bad game. And Temple's defense was a lot better than their offense. the defense wasn't bad on wednesday.

  16. QUOTE(backinthaoc @ Mar 15 2007 - 06:21 PM) 826413250No sir,I did not go look up posts from the past....I just remember those little remarks about Rob Eldridge..If you got something to say to the guy, don't do it on these message boards....Say it to his face....While you are looking up words look up coward....

thank you. great advice. You know what, I think I will call him up right now and tell him. You're a genius. As for now, I am off to Murfreesboro so spend the night and see my boys play tomorrow if that is alright with you. Darn, I won't get to see your little reply to this comment. Oh well! I'll be thinking about you tomorrow while Temple is playing.

And if they lose, then that's that. Rubbing it in my face won't do you any good. I never gave my prediction on the game. I have no clue who will win, but I hope Temple plays their best and comes out on top. That's all I can hope for. I am not going to get on here and proclaim that my team is the best and will win, like some people. I can only wish them the best. and hope they shut up all the people from the West. Either way, we are still going to hear anything and everything from the people out West.

    I'm out! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

  17. QUOTE(backinthaoc @ Mar 15 2007 - 06:05 PM) 826413238No you didn't hurt my feelings....But I think I hurt your feelings....What other reason would you go looking up the meaning of ignorant???....You might want to look up the meaning of assinine and while you are at it look up class.....Some of your other posts, especially the ones about Rob Eldridge lack class.....

I only looked up my term to make sure I used it correctly and so no one could be offened.

what's sad is that you went and looked up my posts from the past. if you knew this guy, you wouldn't like him. Good comeback though. It took you long enough to come up with something half way decent of a comeback. Don't be upset cause you are sitting at home with the UC players. You ran your mouth all year about the almighty UC, and now that they are out, you are trying to find something else to run your mouth about.
