Questionable calls? Borderline? I am embarrassed for you!

They were running an option. On an option, you're allowed to hit the QB even if he doesn't have the ball, as long as it isn't too late. Only one of the hits was actually an okay call, the other wasn't too late.

And The Pass Interference shouldnt have been called, especially considering earlier in the game Brentwood had a more blatant pass interference that wasn't called.

You obviously don't understand how this game, or especially how Brentwood, works. There is no way that Franklin will shut out Brentwood, it just won't happen. Brentwood is coming in with a vengence and if I was Franklin I'd make sure to forget that last game and move on.

 

 

If you watched the last meeting, Brentwood's only TD came after 2 questionable personal foul calls (late hit on the QB, but they were options so they were borderline legal), and a Bogus Pass Interference Penalty (The Defender played the ball, and there was no illegal contact before) set them up inside the Franklin Red Zone.

If Franklin Eliminates Turnovers, and their defense shows up again, expect this game to have a very one sided score.

However, whatever the score, this will be a competitive game throughout and won't be over until the final whistle blows.

according to radio, only turnover tonight was interception thrown by Franklin. penalites were high in first qtr but didnt hear much after that. I believe both teams missed xtra point

Franklin missed an extra point in what seemed to be miscommunication between the snapper and holder, as the ball was snapped as the holder looked away.

Smyrna missed an extra point late in the fourth...when it was blocked by the Franklin Defense.

Franklin by 14, 17-3

Franklin played a fantastic second half, and Brentwood's only TD drive was fueled by 3 15 yard penalties...that aren't actual penalties. Two personal fouls for hitting the quarterback, but they were both on an option (you're allowed to hit the quarterback on an option), and one Pass Interference that was just a great play on the ball.

Take away those 3 penalties, the score is 24-3. Take away a few of the turnovers inside the 20, Franklin wins this one by even more. The Franklin Defense is among the best in the state, and the Offense has the potential to be among the best as well. If they can eliminate turnovers, no team is safe from them in the playoffs, and I for one think that they'll do just that.

I think Franklin takes this one 60- -18.

...but really it'll be a close game I think, at least for the first half. If Kuivinen has time in the pocket, then the Brentwood defense most likely cannot cover the Franklin Recievers all game and they'll get some big plays. The Franklin defense most likely won't let up more than 6 points...

I'm taking Franklin in this one, 17-6 in a closer game than the score shows.

 

 

Franklin beat Centennial 21-7, not by 3 TDs. Of Franklin's 21 points, 14 came from the defense. Franklin had 1 offensive TD against Centennial.

 

as the poster said, the STARTERS beat them by 3 tds. The backup defense let up a late TD to CHS.

 

Looks like you are losing some faith in your team. You had them winning 24-0, now you are saying 24-3, what happend to the shut out you were predicting for your great D?

 

And just to help you keep your perspective, you got beat by the fourth place team and the second to last team in 7aaa, which means in 7aaa you would be on the bottom with LaVergne. Ouch. Get over yourself. You'll get in the playoffs, but you wont last long.

Pretty sure him giving them another 3 is more mocking than actually thinking they'll get it...Indy does have a great kicker though so they might get 3. However, this Class of Seniors at Franklin have never played in a game where Independence has scored a point against htem, and they're determined to make sure it stays that way.

@ rebel you are one demensional , look at your season rushing stats. Indy does not fear your rushing game and that is a fact, respect it yes ,fear it hardly. After a team faces an o Line and the I train all other backs look like Jv material

As you can see here, the Rebels have rushed for over 1200 yards this season, which might not seem incredible (an average of 154 per game, over 5 per rush), but is still good. Especially when going against defenses such as Smyrna and Siegel. Which is, I think, enough to prove they aren't 1 dimensional

Everyone knows that teams progress as the season goes on. So the first two weeks, the defense struggled with some of their young guys, and guys returning from injuries last year.

0- Again. 0. That means they couldn't score.

20- they only gave up 7 In regulation. It's hard to stop teams from the 10 in OT...everyone knows that.

10- The Defense gave up 3...after the Ravenwood offense started in FG range after a turnover. SO really, 0.

And you can add a 0 onto that from this week.

Thats an average of 10 points a game the starters have given up in regulation. Since week 3, an average of 1.6 points....

Franklin's Defense won't let Indy score a TD, but because Indy has a great kicker they might manage a fieldgoal...as long as the Rebels Offense can fix their turnover and penalty problems, they'll win the game. If they have too many turnovers, or any turnovers returned for Touchdowns than this might be a tougher win for Franklin than it will be otherwise.

I have never been beaten by Franklin. I am not a player for CHS. I am a team player in supporting them. Franklin was the homecoming game for my high school and we never lost.

I'm gonna make a pretty bold prediction here and say Franklin scores 50 for the second time this year, while pitching a shutout...assuming the backup defense keeps the goose egg on the board, and the backup offense continues to score

I don't know anything about Indy's offense, but I would assume they aren't that good, even though they have a sick defense apparently.

...Franklin won 38-0, it wasn't even close.

This actually is a little bit strange. After reading this post I tried to find any information about the offer. On 247sports.com (a recruiting based website from Barton Simmons that's from the Nashville area) he isn't even listed as having an offer.

Both of these sites say that he has been offered from Syracuse.

Franklin (2-1) comes off a comfortable win over an overmatched Centennial team, while McGavock (0-2) is trying to rebound after a 48-7 thumping against Mt. Juliet. Franklin looks like a team with great potential but has failed to but offense and defense together on the same night and play solid for all four quarters. McGavock is struggling to do anything, especially on defense. Big game for both teams as FHS has Smyrna next week and if McGavock drops to 0-3 it could really hurt the team morale. Thoughts? Predictions?

FHS has Hillsboro between McGavock and Smyrna.

I don't know much about McGavock, but I see Franklin's team pulling togetehr finally and winning this one, hopefully big. I think their defense is starting to find themselves, and won't let up more than 10 points.

So how about the Rebels defense finally showing up all 4 quarters?

Everyone needs to grow up and be mature, and either talk High School FOOTBALL, or get out.

Go easy on the Cougars Franklin, they are just a poor little 5A school with a short and not so great history that the team is working hard to change. Have mercy on them. They certainly can't compare State Championships with you...oh wait, oops, my bad, actually...yes they can. FHS - 0, CHS - 0.

I don't know when they started having State Championships, but throughout the 100 years of Franklin I'm pretty sure they've won a number of championships, they just weren't state titles because they didn't have state title games...I may be wrong though.

However, if any Franklin team has ever had a chance of doing it (besides the 08 team that came extraordinarily close, and the 09 team that would have if they had made the 2 point conversion vs Brentwood)in their entire history, it is this one.

On the topic however, of FHS vs CHS, I stick with my earlier post-this one won't be close. FHS by a landslide.

Who cares if this taco guy was there or not? It doesn't matter, let's start talking football instead of wasting time and posts on whether or not someone was at the game, and whether or not they're a coach, because it really doesn't matter at all.

Anyways, I think it'll be interesting to see if Centennial improves by the end of the season, because they do have a solid coaching staff as far as I know. Although I don't think next weeks game will be close, I do think that as the season goes on they will get better, and possibly play some games at the end of the season closer than anyone would have thought before the season started.

All up to if the players can improve under the coaches, but this year I don't see centennial winning many games at all, at least not in the first half of the season (although I don't know their schedule)
