  1. Very good points. Counter point Is the kids that really want to put in the extra effort should be able to do both. TSSAA is harming the kid that is capable and has the desire to do both Hs ball and competitive travel ball. They are two different animals and one really has very little to do with the other.

  2. No I’dea who the Mud Dawgs are but good luck and God bless them. Just a little different angle on the whole mess. Most high level travel softball kids only play School ball to hang out with their friends and have some fun. It’s seldom very competitive and has nothing to do with making it to college ball. Honestly these kids are doing the High Schools a favor. How bout the TSSAA gets out of the way and minds their own business. They are hampering these kids ability to play where College coaches are actually watching. They should be interested in helping kids not harming their chances of playing in College, which is EXACTLY what they are doing.

  3. The bottom end of AAAA is gonna get the shaft no matter what. As I have said before, Total waste of time and will do nothing to help that division be more competitive, which was the main disparity in the first place. When you have a 1500 kid difference the larger schools are gonna be dominate every time unless you have a grooup of studs in one of the smaller schools, Which does happen but not very often.

  4. Of course Anything is possible. It’s just a lot more probable to be competitive if their isn’t a 1000 to 1500 difference in enrollment from the top to bottom. All the other classes have roughly a 300 student difference. Why not combine 1A and 2A. Would have the exact same impact, only it would be on the bottom end instead of the top.

  5. That’s the silliest thing I have ever heard. Of course it matters how many are walking the halls. Unless your a small single A school that gets away with recruiting, The ones on the court have to be picked from those walking the halls. If you have 1000 more kids your chances of having a few more athletes are much greater. Simple math.

  6. So let’s take this a step in the other direction. Athlete lives in a county with three high schools. Two are county schools and the third is a city school. Athlete does not live within the bus route of the city school. Athlete decided at start of 9th grade to go to city school and provide own transportation, should they be ineligible?
if they decided after 9th grade to transfer to the county school that does provide bus to their home would they be eligible without an address change?
