  1. Time will tell....by the way Milan is in 3A, could by interesting....not the same JCM team, you have to be close to the team to understand....there will be plenty of witnesses this year.
  2. Hey Redrage why don't you guys set up a scrimmage with JCM before the season and find out firsthand if they are as talented as advertised.....lol
  3. I don"t know what scrimmage they were at but that was not what happened. JCM was up by one or two scores when they put in their second string, didn't keep up after that. Point is with projected starters in JCM scored when they wanted to. They scored on the first play of the scrimmage and started to back off their main plays because everything worked before turning it over to the 2's. Like you said though that's just Spring ball. They still hadn't reached their peak and that is dangerous for the rest of 3A, time will tell.
  4. Do not under estimate JCM, they are the only 3A team in this district. Have D1 talent on this team and a seasoned staff with Coach Taylor. Heard they are much stronger from the weight room also. Look for a more physical, hard hitting team than in the recent past.
  5. Being from West Tennessee I don't think Covington or Jackson Northside should be in the top 10 right now. They lost a whole lot and will take time for them to gel. Maybe by week 8 but not now.
  6. You are right about JCM, they have players, Terrance Kinnie at QB, All West last year and Sophomore of the Year Kris Todd- All West, 6'6 315, D1 prospect Rodney Clark,Jr.-All West, RB , 6'0, 206 lb, 330 lb bench, rated by 247 sports and Rivals Desmond Maclin-WR,CB, Jackson Sun Male Track Athlete of the Year, ran in state in 100, 200, and on 4x100 State Championship team Jalen Marshall-WR, Anchor on 4x100 State Championship Track team Fred Maclin-LB, 6'1, 210 lbs Maleic Clark-DT D'vondrae Williamson, 6'4, Safety All are on D1 colleges lists with a number of backups that are capable. This will be a big year for first year Head Coach Orentheus Taylor who have an experienced staff around him. It's going to be nice to watch this JCM team perform in the first game against Dyersburg and Coach Stowe. It will be homecoming for JCM Coach Taylor, who played his High School football and basketball for Dyersburg.
  7. Rodney is 5'11 and last I heard was sporting a 3.0 GPA
  8. I know this may sound a little bizarre for a team that went 2-8 last year. This team played with a very talented Freshman quarterback in Terrance Kinnie, a Sophomore phenom at running back, Rodney Clark,Jr who rushed for over 700 yards despite missing the last three games. Do not be surprised even though they are a 3A team playing in a 4A Region that they challenge Lexington and Liberty for the title. This team last year were predominately Freshmen and Sophomores and all are coming back. This team could have easily been .500 if not for some tough breaks. Kinnie and Clark will anchor an offense that was very productive last year but defensively the Cougars struggled. Clark is on the radar already with some D1 schools, benching 315, running a 4.5 40 and is 187lbs and growing and will play defense this year, also. The Cougars under second year coach, Martez Edwards will be ready for the upcoming season. The Rock will be rocking!!!!
  9. Unfortunately, the score was a misprint. However, I was being nice by saying 80-21, it was at least 11 tds to 3 when we stopped counting. Chester County scored at least two more before the scrimmage ended. Haywood coach was the one that wanted to keep playing. Morale is dropping quickly. I'm a tomcat supporter that now lives in Chester Co. and have no reason to lie. 49-21 was truly a nice score but it just wasn't that close.
  10. The Haywood County Tomcats were destroyed 80-21 in a scrimmage with Chester County. Spring practice ended with two solid beatings. Coach Calhoun has his work cut out for him in the 100th year of football in Haywood.
