If you just want high school success, Antron Peebles from Riverdale was a good one! He never amounted to much at UT Knoxville though.

WOW!! I had no idea Page was gonna challenge for playoff contention..........Cheatham Co. sounds as if they could be dangerous.
This is gonna be a fun region to keep up with!

Just a curious question. How close do high school administrators check the accuracy of applicants resumes? What would happen if after they hired what they thought was a real jewel they found out he was only fool's gold? Does anyone know of this occuring?
-
It looks like this could be a really competitive region. A few questions?
Will David Lipscomb dominate?
Does anyone think Tim Johnson will turn around lowly Giles Co.?
Is there anyone from Marshall Co. impressed with the new head coach?
Will Spring Hill have extra motivation with their coach off in Iraq?
This could and should be a tough region for the rest of the state.

Thank you very much...............I obviously didn't get it posted correctly.
Let's try it again then.
A couple of months ago you couldn't get on the T without reading about Marshall Co. and their releasing of Coach Mac. A surprise hire from Stratford and now nothing but silence. How's he doing? Will he return the Tigers to the prominence of the mid 80's? What's the talk around Lewisburg?
I'll take the silence as a hint!! haha

The new region 5-AAA consists of:
Creekwood
Page
Can anyone of these make some noise in the playoffs???

One thing you can do to find your posts is click on your screen name and go to your profile section. There is a link there to all your posts.
Second, you may have posted the question and hit the notify the mod. button, by mistake. In that case all the mods got the message and it did not post in the forum.

I asked a question on Monday about Marshall County and how the new coach was doing. Yesterday I wasn't able to get on Coach T and this morning the post is gone. Did I do anything wrong?? Just a rookie and I don't want to offend anyone.

Earlier this year you couldn't get on the T without seeing something about Marshall Co. and their releasing of Coach Mac as head football coach. A surprise hire from Stratford and now we've not heard anything in months. How's he fitting in? Will he return the Tigers to the prominence of the 80's? Is the new region gonna play a factor in how successful he'll be?

Steve Britton is not only a heck of a O-line coach BUT has been a defensive coordinator at schools in GA and TX. He's been in the Sumner Co. system before at Beech. Would he be a good fit for the Green Wave?

The last time Alsup was rumored to be leaving the name Ron Aydellot from Hillsboro HS was mentioned. Now that it's official the job is open I imagine he will be interested again. Several of the Metro coaches are trying to get out of Nashville due to the No Child Left Behind quandry. Aydellot is a proven winner. Would he fit in at Blackman?

What do they run on Offense and Defense? To go 6-4 in that old region is quite an accomplishment. Sounds like they're on the right track.

Oakland[/url'>Grad' date='Apr 19 2005 - 03:31 PM']I appreciate your optimism concerning the Patriots, but at this point, i dont feel they are a top team, although that can certainly change.
As far region 4 goes, Smyrna deserves mention before Oakland, as they return the core of their varsity roster. At this point, I think you have to make Riverdale, DB, OR and Germantown your top 4 being they have consistenly been in the hunt for a state title. My top 10 would go a little like this:
Same teams..............different order
Riverdale ..................Rankin's last season
Smyrna...........earning more respect each year
Ooltewah..............rebirth of the Wing-T
Cookeville...........lots of talent, can Joslin get it done?
Franklin ..............air show

What's the forecast for the Station Camp team? Are they moving up in classification yet? Are they getting any athletes? Is it true they're not at the point the administration wants them to be yet? Can the Sumner Co. connection help me out? Thanks!

Well Moore County has had three Mr. Football running backs. Todd Logan in 88. He was probaly one of the toughest players ever in class 1A. Jeff Norman in 92 who holds the state scoring record with 271 points in season, and he also kicked field goals. Brandon Wells who is second all time behind Flemming on the all time rushing list. He also holds the state record for most 100 yard games in 4 years. He would have gotten the rushing record but the coach WE HAD decided to take him out when we got ahead by 14 points of a team his jr. and sr. years . I think he was only seven or eight hundred yards behind him. I think when it comes to picking a Mr. Football the runningback picks are usually pretty good. But the lineman picks are usually the biggest and worst players, whose team has a winning record.
Can someone refresh my menory........did the Logan kid go on to play at Penn State or am I having a sr. moment?

I just saw on the TSSAA website that Blackman High School is looking for a Head Coach. What happened to the last Coach? Who is/are the leading candidates and will this be opened up or filled in house?
Ms. Vick is a former asst. principal at Riverdale. Will she go after current or former Riverdale assistants??

Got to watch about an hours worth of practice today. The 'clone' was practicing at right guard. 54 was practicing at the center spot. Coach Britton was already in mid summer form. I love to watch the man work! Especially the subtle combination of teaching and pointing out mistakes and more importantly HOW to correct them.
Didn't get to stay for the fun part where they were hitting. Had to go home and drop the bird dog off and grab a bite before I had to be back for the meeting about the Ohio trip and game. It sounds like it is really gonna be a good trip for the young men and a heck of a game. thumb
The one thing I saw that I liked is that there is a BUNCH of young men out there and they were actually paying attention and trying to do it all right.
From my short time out there it looks like R'dale is gonna be tough again and DEEP again this year!
Speaking of Coach Britton.................is he the best lineman coach in the state? He seems to be. He showed up in '93, the first year the Warriors went to the state title game. Is his daughter a senior at Riverdale? How much longer will he remain satisfied with an assistant's position?

I totally agree! The only way to ever shut 'em up is to beat them. Until that day, they're the baddest bunch around. But like the NFL commercial says........at this point we're all undefeated! haha
