on a serious note, what were the stats of both QB's during the regular season?  I would like to see them lined up side by side just to compare.  Also, I know that Stanton has like a 4.3 gpa and a 27 ACT Score, any idea what Cade's is?

I do not know his exact GPA but I know he is an excellent student so it's pretty high. It would be pretty hard to beat a 4.3 however. It sounds like both are very deserving of the award. It's unfortunate they are in the same class and classification. To be honest though I'm not really sure how much they actually take into consideration of the classroom. I know they say they do because it looks good on paper to say that but there has been some past winners that weren't exactly star students.

  2. AC has one chance to win this game. If they can score fast and get ahead. Everyone thinks this game will be about the two QB but that is far from the truth. I can't speak for AC's game plan but I know exactly what Greeneville s will be. Greeneville will come out and run the ball straight down AC's throat. They did it to Science Hill who had 300 pound d lineman and physically dominated the game. By the 4th quarter AC will be beat down physically. If you don't think so watch the YouTube video of the game last yr and look how much bigger and more physical Greeneville is than AC.  So if I was AC I would take the ball first if I win the coin toss and try to score fast and maybe get Greeneville out of their game plan. Then they have a chance.

He said the same thing when we played Elizabethton.  Who's laughing now.....lol

Your right I didn't think you could beat Besty. So I will give you props on that. However we are definitely not Elizabethton. So I'm still laughing when I look at the 55-9 score that happened on your own field. And I know what you will say that your better this year and I agree you guys are much improved and your coach probably deserves coach of the year in the whole state. But we are also better this year and now it's time to prove it.

I really think the Mavericks hardest opponent was Carter; first game of the year and jitters much like a first game in the playoffs. Carter had us at halftime but we made the adjustments they did not score again and we scored over 55 shutting them out in the second half. I think our biggest gift is that we have the talent and just as important the staff can make good adjustments.

Carter was your hardest opponent? Lol the adjustment your coaches should make is to your schedule.  Last time Greeneville played Carter they won by 70

Elizabethton is Elizabethton, should be a close game.  Same as it was last year, could go either way.

If Boone does dominate, that would leave South and Greeneville being the tough games left for Elizabethton.  And let me just go ahead and tell you, Greeneville will be a game for about a half.  No one except Science Hill is a challenge for Greeneville this year and next.

History goes for Betsy, but seems like some good things are cooking in Gray this year.

Well you can change that from no one but Science Hill has anything for Greeneville to just no one. And it sure looks like to me that Betsy and Greeneville will have play twice this year.

  6. Thats what all you county fans have been saying all these years is we recruit your kids for sports and that the only reason that we are good in sports is because of the county kids so I was stating that SpreadAttack was just upset that he believes county kids come to GHS because of sports. Not the fact that like i've stated a hundred times that most out of zone students have been in the city school system since elementary school......we must be able to pick out athletes at birth then

Hey swipes you can't fix stupid so there is no need to even argue with him or some of the other ones about it they need to realize that wg and sg seasons are long over and this is a thread about greeneville and maplewood so if they can't say something about the game they should go to a different thread so they can complain and feel important there

  7. Just curious, how many players play for GHS that don't live IN the city?

    [/quo,

Why do people on here have such a poor opinion on this i here all the time how everyone leaves the county schools to go play football at greeneville it is simply not true just another excuse for county schools when they lose. Yeah sure there are kids that live in the county that play football for greeneville but the fact is 95 percent of those kids started in city schools in elementary school and I don't think many of them were thinking about greeneville football when they were five and six. I live in the county and my kids go to the city and the decision had little to do with football I pay tuition for my daughter to go to city school and don't think she is playing on playing football. I played for greeneville and went to city schools but choose to buy a house in the county for many reasons and I know this is true for many people alot of people which went to city schools wind up buying or building in the county now. Also my address my be county but the closest school to my house is a city school. So really I wish the county would stop wining and acting like their losing all of their good players to greeneville it is simply not true.

  8. I had hard Alcoa wanted a hot name coach and it would be Cain Ballard from Greenville. He wants to make a move before his lil kids start school and before his oldest starts the middle school level.

You don't have a clue what u are talking about do u all of ballard's kids are already in school my daughter goes to school with them and I know him well seen him tonight at the school christmas program he's not going anywhere anytime soon and most people don't know his wife has a good career here she would not just give up not to mention their farm and rental properties here.

  9. Wow maplewood saying they should have won against greeneville last year. We had to drive 4 hours play on a muddy field in 20 or less degrees with one of the best d players on the team not allowed to play and you guys are still making excuses how many more advantages did you want. I been pulling for maplewood all year I thought your fans were respectful and treated us well when we were there so good luck this week and let last year be last year instead of making excuses

  10. Well, we have made it to the quarterfinal round and Quad 3 has come down to White House vs. Maplewood . Two teams that have fought through adversity to make it this far deserve an applause! Now, who's season goes on and who goes home? This will be a tough match-up with two fast, hard hitting teams gettin' at it! I'll say, of course, that my Devils will pass them in the fast lane and turn left towards Cookeville after the victory. BDP is Cookeville Bound!

There will be some devils in cookeville but I don't think there will be any wearing blue maplewood has the one thing the other teams from quads three and four don't a good d see you in a couple of weeks maplewood good luck and stay healthy

  11. It is obvious why Greeneville is rated the top team in state in 4A .. they have a physical brand .. I am a Fulton fan and have see some of our teams in the 2002 -2008 years that played for state titles be as physical .. this years Fulton team started out as a very soft running team .. Falcons have always thrown the ball around and ran off the passing game mostly but the passing game has been inconsistant but the potentila is still there for a bg play or two .. but the bottom line is if Falcons cant run and cant stop run then its long night .. pretty simple aside from the turnover margins ... we will see if Falcon young pups can handle it ... Greeneville is favored and should be but thats why they play game ... Falcons have never been intimidated playing anywhere .. they have played 5A Morristown West, 5A West , Austin East and Alcoa ths year and have some of the issues that Greeneville and Alcoa have with scheduling .. Falcons have played some physical teams ths year early and didnt handle that as well as I hope they do Friday .. both teams have players that only need a seam to run and it could be 6 .. so tackling will be very important .. and if the QB for Greeneville can help us some with fumble or two or a pick or two we will see what the outcome will be but no doubt Falcons will HAVE to play well and create some turnovers. But we will be there and if we dont come away with a win good luck rest of way ... Falcons only have 4 seniors that play roles on this team so future is bright for Falcons as their Frosh team went undefeated and handled Farragut and Alcoa frosh with ease .. so 2012 and especially 2013 look good ... thats my spill on game .. all be safe traveling and hope for good weather in Greeneville.

    Good post for your team
