  1. Yeah and food works too if you want your son's name called on rhe PA or extra stats in the paper. Just sayin'.
  2. Happy Thanksgiving to the HS football fans on here. Coach Martin emailed all the CPA parents. We're headed to the school this morning with pick axes and shovels to help prep the field. Evidently has about a six inch thick sheet of ice on top. Just kidding of course. ( It's only one inch thick. ) Hope you have a great day and safe travels tomorrow. Game will be online for those that can't make the trip. Ill post the link tomorrow but its easily found by searching CPA football NFHS online.
  3. Well that clears things up. two high powered offenses with different styles going against two stingy defenses. Somethings gotta give. CPA 38 points per game Lewis Co 37 points per game CPA Def allows 13 points per game Lewis Co Def allows 14 pts per game CPA 59 TDs Lewis Co 68 TD’s
  4. Yep, but I imagine Dylan Benson and Cody Bennett might have a thing or two to say about that. That will be a matchup to watch. Fairview slowed down the CPA run for the first 3 series with 8 in the box and Wall and Shiver making plays but CPA made some adjustments and Hockaday got going. Also, was just a matter of time before the long ball over the top was gonig to hit. No way they could cover all three WR's press man with no safety help. They dared CPA to beat them passing the ball and they eventually they did. Will Lewis Co employ the same strategy or take a man out of the box and provide safety help. Again, a key match up.
  5. Three one.....shhhhhh. Don't show them the pic from this morning!!!! Somebody left the sprinklers on all night again...for the 5th night in a row. Panthersforlife, I figured you must have a great pass rush. And that pic was Sat or Sunday of the May 2010 flood. I told you guys it was in a natural floodplain. Stadium backs up to the Little Harpeth River. Seniors have kayaked and canoed to school in spring of their senior year in the past.
  6. A Muddy field actually benefits the power run Wing T team more than a spread team. LC has 2 backs with over 1000 yards including a big bruising Fullback. Not sure why LC is complaining about field conditions. Seems it plays to their advantage which is running not passing. Even LP gets muddy when we have as much rain as we did last week. I would rather talk X's and O's or Jimmies and Joe's than field conditions Tell me about the Lewis Co D. Nineteen Ints on the year. Very impressive. What makes them so good in the secondary?
  7. Saw JP2 last night. Well coached team with some good shooters. They were 7-0 for a reason. Don't have a lot of height down low. 32 has some hops. They should make some noise in DII.
  8. The game is 100% at CPA. It will get muddy.
  9. Alltime....I will give you same advice I gave Fairview....got a get a box of Tide with Bleach and tell the rest of the Lewis Co parents to do the same. The backside of those away jerseys will get muddy. You'll need to wash them before you turn them into Coach Sharp on Monday.
  10. Great post Howdy. Both teams played well. Both teams had a great game plan. CPA made some adjustments and executed well when they needed to make plays. But Fairview is a great team.
  11. ddaddy, You're right. Until I walk a mile in another man's shoes I shouldn't assume I know his situation. From people's sentiments on here I am thinking things like Faith, Family, Football and even hunting are important to LC and to Fairview. Those are important to CPA as well. But your point is a very good one as well. I have much respect for LC and your proud program. I was just trying to point out the things that unite us and that we have in common. I wish you safe travels and hope we are good hosts to you and your family and friends this weekend.
  12. I would bet the CPA coaches hunt and fish as much or more than LC. We're more like LC than you guys think. We hosted 6A Brentwood in week 0. We somehow fit them all in....but it was standing room only along the fence. You're welcome to sit with us on our side if you cant find a seat. We cheer but we don't bite. We sat with Cheatham County on their side last year. It was cozy. See you Friday.
  13. I agree with you. That's why I said Auburn doesn't have anything on LC. The LC catch was a better play and with 3 guys on him. I just hope our guys knock it down in the same situation. See you Friday. Hope you have a safe trip over and a good visit to the Den.
  14. Saw the video today of the halfback pass to beat Westview. Auburn doesn't have anything on LC. That was an amazing play! I just hope lightning doesn't strike twice. Friday can't get here soon enough. Go Lions!
  15. alltime and swarm make good points. CPA will have to stop the run and force punts or it could be a long night for them.
  16. Interesting insight coachrus. Experience counts for sure. I think injuries to key starters in both years was a big part as well. Losing Mitchell in 2011 hurt without much experience behind him at QB. Having Fleenor at ILB would've helped last year trying to stop Arkel Coleman up the middle. Losing Chase Smith and his rushing yards at RB and tackling at SS hurt tremendously as well. No excuses. Milan was a deeper and better team. But I think Coach Martin has been more intentional to develop quality depth this year. Appear to have more depth at skill positions this year. Two capable QBs, four RBs with meaningful yards, 4 WRs that have caught TD passes. We've lost a number of key starters for multiple games this year. I've been impressed with the guys that have backed them up. Hope no one else gets hurt again, but maybe we have a little more depth this year. I think He has a few changes to the routine planned this week and I've heard we may a have a secret weapon or two on Friday. Better be in the den to see is all I will say.
  17. Look forward to the match up. I help put together a press kit for the media that will be there Friday. Just trying to highlight your boys and understand the matchups. There are a couple of websites with stats and film. I will use those but always enjoy hearing fans opinions on here as well. Hope you have safe travels and a good time on Friday evening.
  18. Nah, alltime...just trying to understand how the matchups compare. Fairview is our only common opponent. Tell me about the Lewis Co D.
  19. Lewis Co rushing stats are quite impressive. Graham avgs over 10 yards a tote with over 1,300 yards on the season. Team avgs over 300 yards per game. CPA held Fairview to under 100 yards rushing. They were averaging about 213 coming in. That's a big match up there. If CPA stops the run it could be a long night for Lewis Co. Don't appear to pass very much.
  20. How do Lewis Co and Fairview compare? Who is faster...Dreshad Moore or Lucas Graham? Whose bigger and stronger Garrett Wall or Cody Bennett? Triple Option team? What about the lines? Has Lewis Co ever been down by 2 scores this year?
  21. Someone give a good preview report on Lewis Co for the fans. Who are the players to watch ?
  22. You got that right Sportsnerd! I'll take 4 yards in a spray of mud. Ha!
  23. Game is for sure going to be at CPA. Mostly sunny all week. Coach Brandon will work miracles on the turf. We'll be ready.
