  1. I think everybody is a little sheepish about that last one. It was supposed to a relatively safe little pass in the flat with mostly JV offense in play; getting backup QB at least one pass rep. I doubt anybody really expected it to go 80 yds. Weird stuff just happens sometimes when you run a play: a broken coverage, a missed tackle, etc. I've seen JV tailbacks break big runs before in "garbage time". It's not really fair to the younger players to say "don't try too hard."
  2. Copeland has showed some pretty amazing running skills this year, too. And last night, Stovall had some moves on the sideline passes that were crazy good. Left defenders in a tangled mess behind him. Bears are still making way too many mistakes, though. Penalties are going to kill us.
  3. Bradley Central 52, Soddy Daisy 14. Painful night on the sidelines, though. Had a side judge go down with a broken wrist, and a Bradley cheerleader with a concussion.
  4. I hope I'm not telling too many secrets (with two games worth of film already in the can), but *gasp* they don't even always line up in the backfield!
  5. We keep the Grey Poopon at the back side of the concessions buildings.
  6. Getting in and parking can be a chore. On the bright side, we have plenty of room. One of the few stadiums around that has equal capacity on home and visitor sides.
  7. Not whining. Not excusing. Just assessing. You make mistakes, you pay. Against some competition, you can overcome mistakes. When playing a good, disciplined team like Baylor, you can't overcome them.
  8. Bradley showed they could play with Baylor. In fact, outgained them by over 100 yards. We made too many mistakes - penalties, mental and execution break-downs at critical times. Baylor doesn't make many mistakes, and they are very unforgiving of your mistakes. Hopefully a good learning experience for the Bears heading toward region play. And hats off to the Baylor kicker; 57 yard field goals are very rare in HS ball.
