  1. I don't think any Harpeth fans are "sorry" theyre Harpeth fans this year. This group of boys are all great kids and are playing their hearts out and we coudn't be prouder.
  2. I'll have to let Kyle know he's carrying the whole team, that will be quite a shock to him...and everyone else playing their hearts out.
  3. Matthew Tant just completed the Ironman triathlon for the 2nd time, he's still a great athlete.
  4. Unclassy? Were talking about 15-18 year old teenage boys here, the last thing they could be accused of being is classy. I talked to my son about it (who, as I said, took a knee immediately) and he said he thought everyone was so caught up in the game they weren't thinking. I guess the person who screamed losers as they drove by us after the game makes all of the Camden fans look bad. Sorry, I don't think that way, I'm an adult. I'm through talking about this, it's a waste of time. I hope the young man is okay, he got up and didn't seem to be too badly injured and I'm glad of that but i won't be speaking too kindly about Camden fans tho, YOU have made them look bad.
  5. Every school has people that support them that don't get it. Walking to greet our players after the game, there were several remarks made from adult Camden fans that were rude and uncalled for. There were Camden kids walking through our stands making remarks and being silly during the whole game. Does that make Camden fans rude or bad sports? No, thats justs just the way some people are and always will be. I WAS sitting in the stands screaming and yelling support with everyone else and I agree our boys didn't take a knee as quickly as they should have. To be honest, for a minute, I wasn't paying attention to the player that was down. Does that mean I didnt care? No, it was a very emotional and adrenaline-filled game and it took me a second to realize he was really hurt. I agree with ksgovols, please don't judge everyone based on a select few that get too caught up, we are parents just like you and want everyone on the field to be safe. That being said, I plan to mention that our boys need to pay attention and take a knee and if hey don't, the coach needs to make sure they do. By the way, my son was on his knee and I and everyone around me, were quiet when he was down.
  6. Not sure what "redneck" parents/fans you saw but as a Harpeth parent, I can assure you no one around me was cheering or encouraging our boys to hurt someone when a player is down. I will concede, it took too long for our guys to get water and take a knee and I didn't appreciate that either. The last thing I want is to see any player get hurt during a game and would hope all of the fans/parents feel the same way. I thought both teams played well and wish Camden luck down the road.
