  1. Thanks for your kind words of support Big Red Buck...

From the Admirals, we truly appreciate your support on this site. It was a tough and emotional loss yesterday but they played a fantastic season, set a school record, acheived their dream of going to state, and while they didn't win, they completed in some tough match-ups. Congratulatons LADY ADMIRALS VOLLEYBALL on four years of volleyball...you had each other's backs, you held each other up and you played a remarkable final season of high school volleyball...

  2. To those who say that our silence is admission of our guilt or collusion .... all that can be said is WE DO NOT KNOW the facts, it was NOT our personal RESPONSIBILITY, it is NOT our BUSINESS, it is the business of the family, the school, the administration and whoever else can make these decisions....how can it be said any clearer? We are not stating a "company line", AG's statement is the only FACTS we know.

These girls, the players, THEY HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY OF THIS....and quite frankly NONE OF YOU DO EITHER! And for once, I agree with PH and K2 ... this should be left up to those who know and those that don't should stop using the word "FACTS" when, in FACT, you can't possibly know them....gossip? Yes...you know gossip....and shame on all of you for the slanderous gossip you continue to spew....BTW..... the crazy statement in the comments section of the Knox News article about her contributing "tell that to Morristown (she is in the picture)" well, all I can say is you all don't know all the FACTS then because the three girls in that picture are three of the seniors on our team...oops!

BTW for all of you "experts" out there....privacy issues PREVENT the school, its administration (which includes coaches), etc., from discussing this with the "volleyball family"

  4. Lets get back to volleyball which I think we all agree that PH knows little of beyond siegel.

I predict AC in 4 over Farragut, and then they will beat HV in 3 in the finals. HV will beat Catholic in 3.

AC is a better team. I agree that they are young, and sometimes inconsistent, but when they are on they are an elite team. Farragut has a great OH, but the MH's are suspect, and they are too predictable. I have no love for AC (other than Coach Smith) but less love for Farragut. AC's district is much tougher.

    Good luck to all.

SO MUCH FOR PREDICTIONS....HVA DID WIN OVER CATHOLIC BUT IT TOOK ALL 5 AND IT WAS A NAIL-BITER....FARRAGUT OVER AC IN 3...SORRY ORCAT WE HAVE ENOUGH LOVE FOR THESE GIRLS TO GO AROUND WITHOUT YOURS :)

  5. WOW!!! I HEARD A RUMOR THAT THERE WAS A WITCH HUNT HAPPENING ON COACH T and apparently for us loyal Farragut fans not responding sooner to these crazy "grassy knoll" consipiracy theories it is an embarrassment and an admission of our guilt that we haven't spoken sooner...our slience must be that of a kid getting their hand caught in a cookie jar.... GOOD GRIEF!!! Here's a thought....WE WERE BUSY!!! We have a LIFE....we work and aside from watching these girls play as many as 3 nights a week, these girls (along with their parents) spent the last couple of weeks preparing for a few things like "PINK OUT" to raise awareness and money for Breast Cancer, we hosted a middle school tournament for Knoxville middle school volleyball and after volunteeering all day Sataurday, they walked in "Making Strides towards Breast Cancer" on Sunday, played Monday, Wednesday and Friday the next week and then there were the prepartions for SENIOR night .... we are teaching these girls about life beyond volleyball and giving back to the community. Shocking but true, we are not just sitting here waiting for the next comment in these two crazy threads to appear.

I also can't help but wonder what everyone would be saying about the Admirals if we were the ones posting this nonsense.

Anyone watching our matches regularly would see clipboards going between players (mostly the younger sitting varsity) and they are learning how to stat.... For all things said on these threads regarding this subject, one thing Coach Davidson is NOT is a CHEATER and to call her one or attempt to ruin the reputation of a coach, school or player is reprehensible. Although I have been to matches where I have witnessed parents keeping stats, the parents at Farragut High School DO NOT...As a matter of fact, if you had any knowledge at all on this subject regarding our team, you would know that the mother of the player in question is the person you would see line judging 99% of the time. One thing she is NOT is a cheat. She WOULD call a foot fault on her own daughter at game point in a championship match - and if she doesn't see something, she would say so...but one thing she has nothing to do with is the stats or reporting them. On that same note, I have witnessed coaches scribble out scores and stats as they are running out the door to catch the bus so while he or she may think "that sounds high" she would not be in the place or time to discern all this.

As far as a "black mark on the school, player, coach" ... whatever. Why doesn't everyone just get out the TAR and FEATHERS! Thank goodness we don't live in Salem!

Are the stats inflated, as one poster previously went so far as to provide word math for everyone...in that specific game, it was highly unlikely that the assists were that high - agreed - but it is most likely a result of clipboards changing hands and not understanding what the "assist" is....Maybe someone would like to suggest that in addition to scorekeeping clinics we should have "how to keep stats and keep your mind" clinics. However, they should offer liability coverage for those willing to take on the challenge because you may need it. As a previous poster mentioned, I too did stats in high school for both football and boys basketball...and we always worked in tandem so that we had eyes watching and hands writing and it was not an easy job. I would never condone blatant misrepesentation of statistics but I would also not jump on a moving train that is trying to derail a coach, school, its players or their accomplishments. These girls have worked hard over the past four years (as have yours) and if they beat you along the way doing it we do not apologize. As AG correctly noted, incorrect stats never changed the outcome of a game....and BTW college recruiters would know by looking at stats that some maybe incorrectly reported.

I am not sure what day jobs you all may have, but might I suggest a career change for some of you....a "spin doctor" for a political campagin as some of you certainly have a gift of twisting words....

What you don't see with your eyes, don't witness with your mouth.

  6. WOW!!! DID THIS GET OUT OF CONTROL.... TO BBV AND ORCAT ... TAKE A STEP BACK !!! First, the silence was more of "who in their right mind would justify these crazy accusations with an answer"?

Anyone watching our matches regularly would see clipboards going between players (mostly the younger sitting varsity) and they are learning... For all things said right and wrong, one thing Coach Davidson is NOT is a CHEATER and to call her one or attempt to ruin the reputation of a coach, school or player is low and out of line.

In response to ORCAT ... how many times do the loyal fans of Admiral Volleyball have to SAY IT????? The Soddy Daisy FANS did NOT make us LOSE that (one) game at the Tandem. OMG....get off the subject already....WE SAID our girls realize that they did not play to their full potential that match and whatever happened in their play that day, they will learn from it....WHAT we said was that we didn't think it was appropriate for a PARENT to make direct remarks to a player and while we cheer and get crazy, we would not tell a player to their face " I hope you miss it" and we don't chant during serves or make negative comments to the opposing team...we learned from Coach Moore cheer all you want for us, but don't cheer negatively against the other team. NUF SAID

Regarding the posters that it is the parent of the setter keeping stats....AGAIN, if you watched our games (instead of making up crazy stories) you would know that it would be pretty impossible for the setters parent to record the stats since she is ALMOST ALWAYS LINE JUDGING....She makes the tough calls against our own team and would as another poster wrote "call a foot fault on game point in a championship match"

Are the stats inflated, as one poster previously went so far as to provide word math for everyone...in that specific game, it was highly unlikely that the assists were that high - agreed - but it is most likely a results of clipboard changing and not understanding what the "assist" is....

Regarding not posting on this subject sooner ... Well, I guess it could be said ... WE HAVE A LIFE .... work - girls playing 3 nights a week - football - family .... no direct intent on ignoring the post, just too busy to get on here .... BUT believe what you want or better yet, make up what you want, y'all do anyway.

  7. Congratulations to the Lady Admiral Volleyball team in their win over Anderson County in three straight games (25-16, 25-17 and 25-21).

Last week they also defeated Catholic for their (undefeated in) DISTRICT TITLE (25-27, 25-10, 25-12 and 25-16). While the first game was a tight match won by Catholic, Farragut came back, re-grouped and defeated Cathlolic in the next three games.

  8. Totally agree about playing your best and not just the upper classman. I don't think HV's jv could beat their varsity. I do know that Farragut has struggled with 2 of their hitters while a fantastic freshman sits. In Farraguts case thats why this coach was picked. It was a pure political move. She came in with the understanding as to who was going to play. I hate that. Play the best.

No way I would send anyone to Phoenix Rising. It is a recruiting tool for Karns. Her best player this year is a club recruit that should be at Powell. Last year her best player should have been at Farragut.

Don't discount HV. I think they are good enough to make the state tournament.

Farragut does have a FANTASTIC FRESHMAN who plays all the way around - while the libero starts for her back row, once she is on the court, she usually stays on the court so not sure what the point is about a freshman sitting. The coach is also giving other freshman some pretty good playing time. The rest I wouldn't touch with a 10' pole. I'm glad these girls work together and have faith in each other. It is not about egos or being "rich kids" either as some previous posters have noted. These girls work hard and the play hard.

  9. sounds like the cheering and yelling that go on at basketball and softball games.many times i've seen someone holler as a player shoots a free throw. and i've seen the softball doing chants. parnets and fans stomp the bleachers. sound like spectators not aware of etiquette. parents of sofball and basketball are use to hollering at refs and being loud. VB coaches need to explain the difference to parents. sound like the admiral is a little fustrated with those trojans. :popcorneater:

No frustration at all with the Trojans....the team played well and the admirals were off...a few weeks prior it was a different game, end of story. Admiral fans have been known to be loud, so that was not the point of my comments.

  10. I watched the entire match and I didn't see any heckling. I actually sat with some of the Farragut fans and they were more concerned about why certain players weren't included more in the offense. I never heard or saw anything out of line.

I am surprised that you beat Blackman. Also, you have some really good teams to get past before talking about making the state tournment.

I really liked your big outside hitter, what is her name? She is fantastic. The other hitters had problems putting the ball down. Several of the parents were critical of some of the coaching moves.

I also liked the setter. The girls seemed really nice, and I thought showed alot of sportsmanship during a rough day. It is hard when you are so overmatched.

SD parent kicking a ball at Farragut player, calling her a "twit" and saying "I hope you miss your serve" and pounding the benches during serves is what a good sport would consider heckling. Heckling a line judge several plays after what is considered a "controversial" call is also a show of poor sportsmanship....Shouldn't the parents and coach set the example? The only worse example of unsportsmanlike conduct came from the Riverdale coach who was yellow carded twice and did his best to derail momentum by picking arguements with the down refs so as not to call a time out to achieve the same thing. BTW....it didn't work and Farragut beat Riverdale and the team played well...all of the hitters and passers... The girls are their own worst critics and they know when they didn't play to their potential without someone who watched one match calling them "weak" or "slow".

It is a competitive sport and it is about winning and it goes without saying that everyone gets caught up in the excitement of a tight match but observe good sportsmenship....Farragut did when they beat SD both times at the choo choo and didn't find it necessary to heckle the refs, line judges or players.

These girls have worked hard and continue to challenge themselves...Reading on CoachT...when every other team Farragut beats "just has an off day" or "it was just early in the season", etc., a loss for Farragut is they are "weak" or "slow" or just lots of "hype"...They were not overmatched they just had a rough game and learned another valuable lesson.

  11. When did Anderson County ever host a playday? Are you sure?

Does Farragut count playday wins on their record? I thought you only counted regular season wins and losses?

The way he posted it made it sound like Farragut had beaten AC for real. Does Farragut always count play days as real matches? Who else does that?

They don't count play days...it was pre season...and it is not in the overall record...can't speak for AG but I read it as FHS had just played AC and beat them...thats it...why read more in to it than that???

It was the best out of 5 and Farragut won....pretty sure the girls on both sides of the net thought it was real....some may be relieved that it was just a dream

  12. AdmiralGlascow, I checked unapproved website and I only see where Farragut and Anderson County have played 1 time, and Anderson County won. That was in the early bird tournament at Farragut. When did they play the second time? Was it last night? I didn't see any score in the paper. What were the game scores?

Also, did Farragut lose to GPS in 2 in Chattanooga? I did not think GPS was that strong, did Farragut have someone hurt?

Has Hardin Valley played either Farragut or Anderson County yet? No one is talking about them, but I think they look fantastic and have alot of club involvement. This is a new school and you better watch them, because their athletics have gotten good in a hurry. It would not surprise me if they win the region. They beat Karns in 4 last week.

I am pretty sure AG is referring to the play day at Anderson when Farragut won over Anderson County. Yes, to Hardin Valley - but again a play day, and yes, Farragut won.

Yes, Farragut lost to GPS in 2 in Chattanooga in the gold bracket play after GPS beat Sullivan South in the final four. No one was hurt. Farragut played 10 games back to back with no break (with the exception of the drive from Red Bank to East Ridge) with GPS getting a needed rest before Gold Bracket championship. Hopefully Farragut will get a chance to play GPS next weekend.

  13. Give us thoughts who will win the regions.

Choo Choo Tournament....Farragut Lady Admirals....#2 out of 32 teams...matches won against Father Ryan, Dobyns Bennett, Sequoyah, Central, Cleveland, Baylor and yes, Anderson Co., we beat Soddy Daisy - twice...7 games back-to-back with no breaks before final gold bracket play with GPS...yes, we lost the final 2 to GPS but hopefully get a chance to play them at GPS in a few weeks

  14. Now that the KIL and Early Bird are history, maybe we can get a clear look at the top Knoxville teams.

Several Farragut posters (and the local paper) were touting the Lady Admirals, but as expected the best area team is Anderson County, by a mile.

AC has the best setter, libero, and hitters and they are young. They beat Farragut, at Farragut, and almost won a tough early bird. The only other Knoxville team to make the gold was Farragut who AC put out in the 1st round.

Each should win their district, but Farragut could be upset early.

Hardin Valley looked good, so did Webb and Heritage. Karns is not in the top 10 which is too much of a drop off for a team that made state the last 2 years. Oak Ridge is also weak. Catholic and CAK are good (I think Catholic could win their district) and I liked Grace Christian. Bearden and Maryville will be good.

    Here is my new ranking.

    1)Anderson County (by alot)

    2)Farragut

    3)Hardin Valley

    4)Catholic

    5)Webb

    6)Heritage

    7)CAK

    8)Grace Christian

    9)Bearden

    10)Maryville

What surprised me is AC has 6 or 7 college prospects, and only 1 club player. What do they have in the water.

K2 should not be so quick to post (by a lot) ..... They did win in 3 but it was a hard fought game on both sides with 2 points separation on the 3rd ... It is a little early to post your number one status for East Knoxville.
