So ER played a bad game, then a good game.  Doesn't explain a 40+ point turnaround.

are freshmen QB had 3 interceptions in this game and only had given up 4 all year. he had a bad game it happens but he didn’t cost them the game smith plays as a team and loses as a team. and like i said before we had to stop the big plays and this game we didn’t do that like we had all season. congratulations to er a big win. if you watch the game we stopped him well when he ran to there right but we didn’t set the edge on the left all night. all but one of the big plays was to that side. groves friday night was the best back i have seen in the hole since 2006. zach groves #0 was in are backfield all night just like the first game and we didn’t make the adjustments to stop him or didn’t have the personnel to stop him is the main reason we couldn’t pass. next year will be almost a complete rebuild for us. good luck to the 4 team left playing

Yeah they lost to upperman who has been ranked #1 in 4A ball most of the year 14-0.They lost to Macon who has been ranked in the top 5 in 4A all year 6-3 in overtime. They beat DeKalb 21-0.Beat EN last year to win the region.Jax Co doesn't have a football team really.Has ER even played a 3A team or above this year.

we lost to macon in ot 6-3. we gave up a first drive td to upperman we fumbled the ball on are own 30 and the scored on a short field. then didn’t score again the rest of the game. we are not the same team they played now nor are we the same team y’all played earlier this season. we are so much better

With the weather that is in the forecast, the rain will hurt SC more than ER, in my opinion. Isaiah Groves is the favorite for Mr Football and if they are playing on a wet field, ER O-line will take control of the game and just wear down SC with Groves. The field conditions and wet ball will limit SC ability to pass the ball, and honestly that is their only equalizer against ER. By positions, RB is by Far in ER favor. WR is in ER favor. TE is in ER favor. O Line is in ER favor. D Line is in ER favor. LB is probably in Smith Co favor. DB’s is in ER favor. No way ER lose this game.

sir do know anything about football? have you seen any of smith co football games this year? if you had you would not have made this statement. er might win this game sc might win this game but nobody is going to dominate this game. this game will be close all 4 quarters. it will come down to turnovers and who wants it the most. the only way er scored on smith the last time was on a hb pass (trick) play. i’m not saying we can do the same thing this game. i know how hard it is to beat a good team two times in one season but i think we got a good game plan and will be ready to play. may the best team win sir.

He’s really not a ER fan that he claims to be. It was weird he started being on coach T as soon as Brooks got the job. How’s the field hold up with rain.

the field is in pretty bad shape before the rain. will be a mud hole between the hashmarks before halftime. it will need a lot of work when the season is over. which will be Friday night win or lose. it really needs a resodding of the whole field.

I didn’t say he did score. I was replying to someone that said groves can’t run. We all know this is a tall task for ER very tall task. Can ER win absolutely. Will they win a high more than likely not.

he can run. best i have seen this year. hope we can stop him from scoring again this time

The refs stay out of this one and ER takes care of business, the score will be flipped this time around, ER had 18 penalties and turned the ball over 5 or 6 times the 1st time they played and only lost by 7, and some people cant understand how anyone could see ER winning LOL!

    ER - 14

    SC - 7

er can’t play a clean game. it is who they are. every call that is made on them is because they did it end of story.

102 kids loss with no new school being built or rezoning to effect the numbers is pretty significant.

All the other counties in the area are growing in numbers and Smith County is shrinking?

google said 520 students google is always right ain’t it. internet is never wrong lol

I’m curious on that as well. Did they get advice from the Watertown admin (at least those counting students at Watertown prior to the current cycle)?  They reported 503 for this cycle and I thought in the prior cycle they had almost 600. Quite a drastic drop. When is the last time they have been 2A?

i don’t remember smith ever having 600 maybe 530-40 most years i think we been about 515-25 but i could be wrong

And we heard how the Powell family loved Carthage esp the support they showed when the kid’s mother was sick?? But yes Powell was not originally from smith co.

this is a true statement. i’m not saying that he will play football for all 4 years baseball is his favorite sport and probably his best but he is a great QB and we are a football school. i sure hope he plays all his years. but he will be at smith county.

That's my assessment too. Offense is more dynamic with the run pass option. Rest of 2A is glad you don't have both for the next 2 seasons. I hope Martin transfers too. :)

he will not leave the school home town young man born and raised in defeated creek.

Gonna go with Smith like I have all year to get to the state championship from the East for the first time in school history. Gonna have to have an asterisk beside it though. Lots of folks wondering if they turned in the right numbers for their enrollment to stay away from Alcoa.

numbers are good we been one of the smallest 3a schools for years. but glad to get away from Alcoa you are right. we made it to them a few years it wasn’t good for us lol
