Our favorite eatery in Cook-Vegas is the Gyro Dude.  Great Greek cuisine!!!!  That's where we go every year before the game.

  2. Maryville will always be known for a soft schedule and needing trick plays to beat teams.

They will also be known for winning a LOT of state titles......

Played in the state championship game every year since 2004....Played in every title game since moving up to 6A ("Big Boy Football")....

I'd have to say that they are known for more than what you point out in your post.

  3.

Those were the facts that were listed on the WB web site, besides I said pretty good, I may not know much about football but I do know a good leader when I see one, also Patrice you may want to watch throwing those rocks because the recruiting issue is everywhere. You still miss the point the article talked about a school moving up and playing well and yes they may have recruited a player, the point is if anyone watched us Friday night and thought for one that we looked like a well coached team then say it, two does our traveling support look like a program that has great buy in, and three Patrice you need to try and bully someone else because when I get ready to revel who I am I will and I can assure you missy you will not be so excited to act as if you are the voice of the pack, you may be able to bully some folks but, I can assure you I am not one of them. You need to stick to your emails for the booster club.

Oh no.........internet Ninja on the loose. Better watch out. He might jump thru your monitor....LOL

  4. Someone wrote this as a comment on The Knoxville news Sentinel Just blows my mind what do you guys think. sunbeam writes:

What the photograph does not show, and the article does not describe is the classless finish to the tackle on the 130 lb. Freshman Kingston player. He was lifted in the air and slammed to the ground like a rag doll. No flag!

I hope the kid is ok. I never want to see anyone get hurt, but, calling for a flag in this instance is like the new "defenseless player" rule in the NFL.......ridiculous! "You hit my kid too hard.....I'm telling!" It's called TACKLE football for a reason. If you play the game.....at some point, you are gonna get your head taken off.

  5. I cant wait for this game and I will be there in person to watch...Both these teams are so well coached and I have respect for both programs...

Any word on prevo? Havent heard anything in a while...i see oak ridge playing tough for three quarters but I think maryville wins by 10..

Prevo did not play at all this past Friday vs. Heritage. They felt no need to risk further injury by playing him in a game that they really didn't need him in. He should be ready to go against the Wildcats.

This game, IMHO, could be Maryville's toughest game this year. OR has to play mistake free football, or else it could end the same way the previous meetings have. I have a feeling that this could be decided by one score, or less.

    20-14 Maryville

  6. The announcer at Oak Ridge is second generation. His dad was an outstanding announcer, we are very lucky to have both of them.

You are correct sir. I know Guy personally and he was outstanding on the PA.

As for the announcers who get too "homerish", if I'm not mistaken, there is a TSSAA rule stating that PA announcers are "supposed" to remain neutral in their statements over the PA. They are not supposed to be cheer leaders, or say anything to make them sound like they are rooting for the home team.

  7. look where "better athletes" get you...a silver ball not a gold one.

    Go Rebels

I will take precise execution over speed any day of the week, and twice on Sunday. Very rarely, does Maryville have the fastest team. But, time and time againt, they show you that if you execute to perfection, they will beat you 9.9 times out of 10.

  8. Oh good! The high school football season is over, so now the imaginary season starts. You guys are all crazy for picking Maryville in any imaginary game. Everybody that knows anything about football, knows that GQ has NEVER won an imaginary game. He is like 0 and 985472 in the imaginary league. :roflol:

  9. The Brewery is very good Riverdaleman. The Burger is one of the best ive ever had. I hope your QB isnt hurt and gets a good Mri report.

Could someone from Riverdale give us an update on your QB? What happened? I certainly hope that he is ok...

  10. Smoky Mountain Brewery is in same area as Aubreys and they have great food and some mighty fine beverages for us older folks.

The Brewery has some of the BEST craft/micro brews around! No doubt a great place for all the Murfreesboro folk to put their hard earned cash into Blount Co. LOL
