yeah, rumor around here is that he is moving last year QB to running back and bringing in a QB that was in middle school while he was in Mississippi. They say he is the real deal. Got a lineman coming down from Signal that is from Alabama and a line backer from Wayne County.. Watch out...

I'll take the bet on Sequatchie. I say they will beat MC, and they will do it with only 5 seniors starting . They had freshman , soph, and juniors playing just like MC did . Next year you better hope you can beat Sequatchie, if not ... Will be a long time before you do. Best of luck.

Point was, going from non-competitive to what some of the fans are expecting might be too much for one season, no matter the coach.

 

Grundy HS is no longer in Tracy, was another point, I think that was Gus' also

I know that it is not in Tracy anymore but it will always be remembered as Tracy City to me. It can be in Grutli, Laager, Coalmont, Altamont, Pellam, Bershebee Springs, or Monteagle for all I care, It will be Tracy City to me. I know I probably misspelled some of those towns sot before anyone gets on here saying so, I dont care. I still say Marion will beat Dunlap and Pikeville next year.

If they go to Tracy they might be riding around trying to see stadium lights from a distance, like Howard searching for the baseball field a few years back.

 

These expectations, though a year away, are reminding me of this year's expectations-a deep playoff run, a great record based on a "bad" schedule, picking a player for all-state before he's even stepped on a high school field. The newspaper added to it, really. What happened when the current players were infants or not even born doesn't affect today's games. Yes there's tradition but tradition doesn't block or tackle. They were fortunate some of the coaches let up in the second half, in addition to the mercy rule being in place, or there could have been some more very ugly scores. That's while being one of the largest few schools in the class and still barely being competitive.

Indian, i know you are a smart fellow and somewhat in the "know" but dont think we dont know this stuff. Grundy comes to Jasper this year and yes most school called it off in the second half. Outside of that, I did not understand a thing that you just posted.

If there is one and I think think there are alot more than one but if there was just one win for Marion next year, It would be Grungy County(Tracy City) But as i have said before, only time will tell.

How much you wanna bet on Sequatchie Co.? Bledsoe will be decent next year also. Marion could go 6-4 to 8-2 next year. The only guaranteed losses I see is SP and Sequatchie Co. Best of luck to you.

Yall expect too much. I guess you will say he should be fired after this dont happen. Only God could walk in & work his ways with this team. No coach is going to improve this team that much in one year. You guys will lose at least 2 if not 3 of those games you mentioned.

Marion might have it tougher the year after next if they move back into Class AA/3A playoffs (if the same format is even being used then). Right now they're one of the largest few Class A teams and several new, small schools are starting sports programs, which could push them up in the new classifications. Signal Mt is currently the only contender in the 7-AA group but in a given year, Signal, Sequatchie, Bledsoe, Grundy, Notre Dame and CCS will be more challenging than South Pittsburg, Whitwell and Lookout Valley, plus that takes away two non-district games which could be scheduled as likely wins.

More challenging yes, but I will tell you right now that Marion will beat Dunlap, Pikeville, Notre Dame, Tracy City and Chattanooga Christian next year and the next year and the next year. Were it will challenging is in the second and third round of playoffs. But we have not moved up yet and probably wont. If we dont move up we will still beat all the teams that I have listed with the exception of Notre Dame and that is only because we dont have them on our schedule.

Yes, He has been to workouts and I know he has meet with coaches. I dont know when he will be at the school full time. Probably after Christmas break. The kids that I have talked to like what he has to say and are really excited. Only time will tell if he can get these boys to play to a high level.

Consistantly little things all year....Dropped passes, off sides , holding etc....It sucks but maybe it will motivate and drive us to get back next year but we need a huge offseason

Have heard this name mentioned also but just doesnt make since to leave a a school in the running for a state title every year to go to a program that needs a complete overhaul and rebuild from the ground. No offense to the Warrior faithful but the success of years past doesnt help this situation. I can see a young energetic coach looking for an oppertunity wanting this job but not a verteran. Just my.opinion

Skillet Head, Old Pirate ain't said he knew nothing...jest don't ritely see how a coach can be officially hired without an opening for a teacher position. Coach Boeck jest mite not leave with the misses a trying to help diagnos the problem with them Jasper fellers not producing too many studs. Dad burnit, figure some jest mite have to call on an ole Jasper alum in Dootsy Kirk to help. Figure he knows bout them there farm animals and proper breeding and all.

That is what i am saying old man pirate how do you know that there is not a position for a teacher to be hired at MCHS. Coach Boeck and Dr. Boeck will not be moving either!

Old Pirate ain't figured out hows Jasper can hire anyone from the outside jest yet. If coach Boeck stays a teaching then his replacement needs something to do other than coach the Warriors. Figure OP will stick with the next coach coming from inside ifin theys a hire real soon.

Who are the names of the legitimate candidates to replace the head coach?

In no particular order; Slaughter, Mccurry, Westmoreland, Zeigler, Gudger, D Barger, and Ballard. Of these names, I would love to see Mccurry,Zeigler or Ballard get the job. I have heard that Zeigler has higher goals than just a football coach. These are names that I have heard. Dont know anymore than the rest of you guys though.

You are right it could be anybody....I say again that I hate it for all the kids involved....all that hard work for nothing...someone will be held resposible for hurting them this way, you would think.

With everything that has been going on at Signal; such as the fight, the distasteful sign such as the one in picture on NFP and now illegal players; I think the person who is in control should pay. That would be Price.
