i totally agree. I knew Coach Gaines when i was at DCA, and he was as real as it gets. It didn't matter who your parents were if you couldn't get the job done you werent going to play for him long. I hate to see him leave... but best of Luck Coach Powell.

I think you are missing the point so many of us are trying to make. People dont hate Soddy because they win. A lot of teams win and are not hated. Look at Goodpasture, look at Marshall county last year, or look at Red bank. Soddy hasnt won state in several years. IT"S THEIR ATTITUDE, and lack of sportsmanship and , how shall I say this, lack of integrity. Nobody wants to play them for all the drama in the stands, and certainly nobody wants to play them on their own field because they are not sure if they can get a fair game. Why is this do you think? Why do you think the dislike is spread over so many teams from so many different parts of the state. I dont hate Soddy, I dont hate any team, but I really dislike the drama that comes with them. Last year when Red bank won , they refused to shake their hands after the game. Having fans thrown out of the park by police after a loss to St. Benedict. Lack of scruples. That is what people hate.

Go to the schedule/results for both teams and see the difference in level of competition that GPS played and JP2 played. Lots of quality wins for GPS and not a very tough schedule for JP2. JP2 and FACs are the only teams in the D2 state that I have not seen. I predict St. Benedict wins the winners bracket and the loser's bracket final as Baylor and GPS. GPS and Baylor are dead even in my book but St. Benedict is on a mission. They were the toughest offensive team we faced.

St. Benedict is verrrry good, but you just have to figure out what to throw them and you can shut them down offensively. other than that, they should win it all.

Class A- TCA, they remind you a lot of Goodpasture 4 or 5 years ago, young but extremely good/This will be the first of many

Class AA- Wide open, probably Goodpasture, don't count out Marshall County

 

Class AAA- Soddy

 

Private- St. Benedict, overall best team I saw all year/Lindsey, Campbell, Dowdy and all the rest.

i am for once going to have to disagree with someone. they might not win it all but i do believe that MJ will put up a strong fight. they can consistently hit the ball 1-9 no matter who you throw at them. i do not believe they will struggle with waters orr thomas. go big ladies, i'll be there cheering ya on!!

I do not have a daughter in high school, so i do not have a dog in the fight There is no reason for me to favor any team. I do watch a lot of the high school games. I also know lots of the players on most of the high school teams. The girls i was speaking of, all but one , coach is a member. The thing i do not understand is, how a girl makes the list one year and her stats from top to bottom are better than the last year,but dont make the list, and a team mate makes the list, but her stats are a liitle lower from the last year and she still makes the list, I am not picking any one school, I have noticed this from a few of the schools, Everone knows, sat, gpa, club and coumity involement plus sports stsa, shows good on profiles.

If supporting all the girls is complaining, then i guess i am, All i would like to see is for all to get their fair shot to be on this list if their coach is a member. { just what i see and know } { TRAVEL BALL ROCKS }

there was no play in game this year in 9AAA its straight double from the beginning.

Hendersonville, Mt. Juliet, Wilson Central, Rossview or Dickson one of these will probably to along with Brentwood from their sectional.

Definitely would have to say Mount Juliet or Hendersonville... others just don't seem to be as strong or have the leadership this year.

I see that Riverdale only beat Central 1-0 in the tie breaker. Are they still playing this Thursday, or has it been cancelled? Should be a good match-up, if both teams show up to play.
