  1. Much respect to #57, and the father that has taught him how to play the game. Don't let the one or two that say this is cheap get away from the fact that a great play was made, with or without the flip result of the tackle. Mr. Young, we met at the McDonalds in Hardin Valley and so I know you and your son. Not a dirty kid, I can first hand vouch for that. Good luck to you and the rest of the boys, and I hope you will find your way down to the fence week 10 to say hello before or after the game.

p.s. the backside tackle does a horrible job trying to cut #57 after the pulling guard leaves AND i would wager the center didn't help any if at all (only watched backside). #57 made a SMART football play and put his stamp on it. Not dirty.

If you think you can first hand vouch that you know this kid cause you had a Big Mac at the same Mcdonalds as him I can first hand vouch that you are an idiot
  2. Back in the summer, I heard one of the Rockwood asst. coaches making his brag that Rockwood would have 9 wins and 1 loss during the regular season. He bragged a little to soon as 1 win and 3 losses (after 4 games) is a fer cry from 9 wins and 1 loss and they have some tough games coming down the pike!

You need to show before you crow!

You know, now that you mention it, the message boards here on coacht have been awfully quiet since play began. Not a whole lot outta the lawyer or bigman07, funny how 1-3 will do that
  3. rockwood drilled us in every aspect of the game, but 2 turnovers, and a kingston defense that rose to the challenge, and a few homerun plays secured the jackets the win, good all around game.

There's no spot on the scoreboard for what you done between the goal lines.
  4. Shut up! It's low to let your classmates down let your city down turn on them that's loved you since day one! Let him go though! According to you were all smoking dope down here! Never seen someone so left out on news! IGNORANCE isn't needed!

I throw some good logic down and all you have is "shut up"... Really ? You're right ignorance isn't needed, I'll contact CoachT tomorrow and find out where you need to turn your username in. I'll let you know.

  5. If kids wanna go. Let em go. RW will be fine without him. Newsflash, every program in America has kids that make bad decisions. What exactly did the program not offer this kid???

Sounds to me like he won't be happy wherever he ends up.

Just for giggles.........Let's play the "What if?" game for a minute:

What if things don't work out at the next school for whatever reason???

Then the player and his family will be at their 3rd school in 3 years. Starts to look like maybe "THEY'RE" the problem instead of everyone else.

Do they really think it's going to be beneficial for the "freshman of the year" to sit out an entire year of football???

Look, my comment was directed at the bigman07 comment "don't need SOMEONE LIKE THAT in the program" and "he's a LOW PLAYER" I didn't say the first thing about Coach Webb or his staff. I also know that every program in America has problem kids including Knox Webb ( better throw Knox in there so nobody strokes out thinking I'm downing thier coach )that's why I didn't name names in my comment, it happens everywhere. No, Brant is not my kid, but I do know him and his family and I also know the Roane County School System and if anybody thinks Rockwood or any other school in RC has as much to offer in either athletics or academics as Knox Webb they're CRAZY. Do you really think he's going to miss an entire year of football? This is proof that MOST people don't have a clue what it takes to play football, he will have to sit out 10- 12 GAMES give or take. There is more to football than just Friday night

  6. Yes Mitchell was his name. He will be attending Webb next year good athlete but don't need someone like that in the program! He's a low player plenty of bodies to throw around he's not needed for the tigers to go on one of those Hampton runs

Good kid, A student in the classroom, freshman of the year in Rockwood's district last year and the program doesn't need someone like that ? maybe you could use a few MORE kids smokin dope or getting in trouble at school or doing just enough in the classroom to stay on the team or maybe it's DUIs you want ? Don't get on here and write something that makes you look like a ... well, let's just say "not so smart" just because one of your best players and his family want more than what the PROGRAM has to offer

  7. Cantwt84football you never heard a halftime speech because they didn't give those in band, When i said Kingston lost to Lenoir city and CAK and Alcoa i meant this year, every game they lost this year they should have. I played at Kingston in the late 60's and I have been watching Kingston football for a long time, my daughter graduated from Kingston in 89 and I currently have a grandson that plays middle school football right now , your right Kingston does have some middle schoolers that have talent, but i watched them scrimmage Alcoa middle school this year and they got crushed and that's the best middle school team that' been there since the early 90's. Here is the difference, Kingston may have a talented class that consist of maybe 6 to 10 players well CAK and Alcoa have 15 to 20, you cant compete with that, that 98 team was good with a lot of talent but bottom line is after 98 Kingston has won maybe 2 playoff games since then, the 2000 team was average at best, the best player on that team was Lance Moore, Kingston aint what it use to be it's never gonna have better players than Alcoa or CAK, its sad but true there are no d-1 players coming through Kingston. Being a Kingston alum I hope they get a coach that cares about the program and instills more discipline, not someone who is gonna leave in two years like pemberton does, besides how much can a guy from Rockwood care about the Kingston football program, I'm a Kingston guy and if your were to, you would definitely want someone who cares about this community and where the program is headed. Collier, Pankey, or wiley either one would do a good job with this program, I mean Cherokee had 60 players this year so that tells me Pankey is doing something right, he and collier both are qualified hometown guys who have done well in their coaching career that would be great for the community and this program.

If we do get a coach that's not familiar with Kingston football maybe you can give them a history lesson and let them know who we should and shouldn't beat. Less talent beats MORE talent every Friday night somewhere, IF it's COACHED to do so.

  8. If your talking about someone starting the Boyd vs TC thread, that was a Hampton fan. :roflol:

No reaction I'm talking about this thread where you and the ambassador and other BB fans talked Rockwood down all week " small speed bump to TC " , remember? Apparently Rockwood didn't know BB was SUPPOSE to run all over them. Maybe BB didn't come out flat but over confident from reading or hearing about how GOOD they are. Jus something to think about before you " yap the trap ".

  9. 17-13 Bucs final. Came out flat. Glad we showed we can come back though in a close game. Hats off to Rockwood. Gave us all we wanted, and then some. If we play like that next week, we will get waxed by FCS or TC. Now the waiting game.

Maybe the Boyd fans shouldn't start a thread and run their mouth so much next week. The players hear and see that stuff and this is what happens, you were LUCKY to win tonight and maybe Boyds not as good as y'all think you are... jus sayin

  10. Remember that when the next team keys on your quarterbacks and stomp them into the turf - just part of playing the game, right?

Let's see who is sensitive then.

    GO ALCOA!

    :thumb:

Funny how a whippin will change the tone of a thread. Quit your whinning it was 28-0 in the 2nd Q. CAK could have really embarrassed Polk IF they had wanted to.

  11. It sounds like to me jacketfan82 has it all worked out, maybe you should be on the hiring committee. I saw you made some statements about getting things back the way they use to be when you played, is that why you all never made it pass the first round, or was it because you worked so hard in the weight room because we both know that would be a lie, coach collier would be a great hire but why would you leave a program like Webb, they better facilities, better support, more money, and better athletes and that equals state championships. Bottom line Kingston got beat by teams that they should have gotten beat by CAK, Alcoa and Lenoir City are all better teams, Maybe Kingston should have beat Polk, didn't see the game. Kingston aint what it use to be and as long as they are playing in the same reegion as Alcoa, and CAK then they will be playing for 3rd place with Loudon. You guys are hilarious, all these football gurus, you should go put in your resume jacket82, ,maybe kingston will get back to what they was in 2000, oh I forgot they are cant make it past 1st round. Good luck to coach King, he deserves it.

bigmo90, its your kinda thinking that runs programs downhill fast. What were the 3 teams that "should have beat" Kingston in 2000 because CAK, Alcoa, and Lenoir City weren't on the schedule that year? Teams you should lose to... are you kidding me, were you the one giving the half time speeches this year? LOL... shouldn't laugh though it's really sad.

  12. u gotta love rumors lol, pemberton will be a good hire, but im sure kingston will keep in in the family as goose states,it will be robbie collier, whenever webb didnt play,he was on the sidelines at the kingston games,vs oliver springs, and i think lenior city also, why would he be on the sideline and not the stands? if they hire in family it should be collier,he coached our defense, hes tough, and wants to win,and learned from meske at webb,i know for certain he wont let the kids stand around and goof off in the weightroom, and kids better get used to running, alot, pankey doesnt make as much sense,he threatened to leave if hes not head coach, cya, why would be hire him as a head coach when his defense couldnt stop a mobie qb all year, made stone memorials qb look like tim tebow, that wouldnt be a good hire.id say robbie collier, pemberton is a long shot.

If you have the opportunity to get Coach Pemberton you don't "keep it in the family" just because it's easy. Coach Pemberton wants to get the family back in this area. I think if you can get Pemberton it would be foolish not to. This program needs a overhaul, not just a tune up.

  13. pankey would play his favorite players, get a coach whos new, have all position open tryouts, and evaluate this years game film, and go from there, have a hard core off season, and schedule a tough spring scrimmagemand go from there.

I hope the new coach does have ALL position open tryouts and that the kids coming up from the middle school as freshman as well as the sophomores are given the chance to earn a spot in the starting line up. I have never liked the term "paid thier dues" that is sometimes given to the upperclassmen on a football team, it's permission to be lazy. If you have a freshman or sophomore that wants to work harder than a junior or senior and take his spot, on a well coached team he will be encouraged by the coaching staff and have the chance to do so. I also hope the new coach puts a strong emphasis on the fundamentals of football, this group of kids is in dire need of this, it's been MIA for a while now.

  14. Hate to say it, but I said one turnover or less and Kingston would win. They had one turnover at halftime and were up 14-7. Then were driving for a score when fumblitis struck. Four second half fumbles killed any hopes of a win.

Bad thing is Kingston doubled them in yardage in the first half and averaged 5.5 yards per play in the second half but ran only 13 plays with eight coming on that first drive of the third quarter. That allowed that big FB to start wearing down the Jackets. He had only 6 carries for 22 yards at halftime, but carried the ball 20 times for 81 yards in the second half.

Yes fumblitis did strike... AGAIN. Our backs carry the ball out in the open with no concern for ball security and have all year, so that means its not thier fault. NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT IT. Thats COACHING or lack of however you want to look at it. The POOR tackling is what happens when everything you do at practice is half speed. This is also a coaching error. It's time for a coaching staff overhaul.
