Yeah, you say that because yall won... Good luck on the rest of the way anyway BA
The truth is I think WH came into BA and earned a lot of respect from all of us. You guys know this and let me say that I am not saying this because we won or to build up BA by building up WH
I could care less about that stuff
You guys reminded me of why I love high school football and brought me back to the kind of football that I like: the kind I grew up with. Your offense reminded me of the old Ensworth teams and that’s a huge compliment in my eyes. Fluid and precise. I like a big hard nosed defense that’s not cocky but just plays the game hard and I like old school coaching.
I know you guys didn’t win the game but you won some hearts of people here in Williamson county.
i heard so many people comment about the band and you guys brought out the very best of BA. You humbled them in the first half and they had to go and try to fix what they could , dig deep and get back into the game.
That game went right down to the last minute and I am not sure if it was played again that the score is flip flopped.
thats the truth of this game . I wish you guys well too - over and out and on to the D2 boards when I see something to write about.

Booger just sayin
Yeah you are right. Not to get off track but...
The Whitehaven offense reminded me at times of those old Ensworth teams. I like the under center QB and they were very fluid / not many mistakes except a few receivers down field. They just looked so efficient running that offense.
If they keep the foot on the gas and keep improving they could be scary good by end of the year — not that they are not now. That first half they looked as good as anyone I have seen play at BA in a long time.
i was a bit surprised BA had as much success as they did against that defense but that shows that BA can go toe to toe with anyone in my mind.
I thought McCallie played well here but I have never been a fan of the option or those types of offenses. I think BA will adjust to it or a team like Ensworth who can match their D speed against the O speed of McCallie may neutralize some of that.. but it also seems McCallie can throw this year as well - so they are a dangerous group to deal with.
i think Ensworth wins this game against Baylor but maybe Spartan sees something - we shall see D2 is exciting this year for the first time in a while - many good teams have a shot _ MBA is down unfortunately but I never count them as an easy out for anyone - not even now.

Showing my age a little but I played against Darkwa at Webb.
He was great - they had that QB too forget his name before Bowers kid took over QB.

Howard is faster than Ty was but Ty was a little bit more physical and yes a 100% runningback. Elijah will play in the secondary on the next level.
Ty was more of a straight line bruiser - very fast though. Played way back off the line so had a head of steam when he hit the hole.
i believe the kid at Baylor is pushing 10.5 ish 100. Cj Sanders was 10.6 ish when he was at BA. Ty 10.8 all fast

Corn was on another level and I think he only weighed about 165.
Yeah he drove me crazy - they owned BA back then. He was fun to watch. I always thought BA had more talent and would beat them but he ran all over them behind that huge offensive line they had.
They had a few good ones even going back to the beginning of that school. Im not sure there has been a better team in D2 than the 2012 ( I believe ) Ensworth team.
-
Still think the best back ever in modern D2 was corn elder. There have been some good ones - I would vote TY 2nd

There were studs on both sides of the ball, regardless of who had it.
I'm glad you will be pulling for us.
What's the word on the two injured?
I have been traveling all week so have not heard anything because I have been away from the school. . Last I heard our RB was banged up but will be back -May sit out this week. We need him for sure.
i have heard the QB did not break his collar bone. Our safety is a big rangy kid who should be back as well. If I hear anything when I get back Friday I’ll let y’all know.
good luck this week - no more fighting with BHS - I am a fan after last week. Ha

It was a great time. I got to the game early which I never do to watch the teams warm up.
I can see now why you guys get so excited for the games and you should be excited about this team. Studs all over the field.
i will be pulling for WH now to make it back to Cookeville.

I’m going to say this one last time and then I’m done trying to dumb this down for you.
Me stating Baylor is better than last year has nothing to do with their schedule thus far. They were suppose to win and they did.
Baylor is better because they return about 15 starters. They are bigger, stronger and more experienced than last year. Baylor is also better because of kids who have transferred in. Division 1 players with offers and who are making immediate big time impacts. Of which one is the fastest kid on any high school football field and commited to Tennessee. And trust me when I tell you he is more than just speed.
I didn’t say Baylor was going to win state. I didn’t say Baylor schedule so far has been tough. I said they are better than usual and have a chance to make some noise. Period. If you can’t understand that then there is no further reason for me to waste my time conversing with you.
One fast kid .. let me guess they are running reverses and pitchouts to score all these points on the teams ranked 10000 nationally.
i stand by my facts. They have not played anyone and until they beat or even play a good team in this division I know nothing about them

You’re 100 percent wrong. Webb hasn’t played Baylor in years. And when I was in high school Webb (we) beat Baylor. I’m more connected with Baylor now than Webb for multiple reasons that I don’t have to disclose to you
Yes exactly my point. You guys are crowning McCallie when they beat BA last year and still didn’t even make it to state. Meaning just because they beat BA this year again doesn’t mean we should crown them already. Thank you for supporting my point.
For the 10000th time. I’ve been around the Baylor program for the past six years and this is the best team in my opinion since Ryan Parker’s senior year. I am aware they havnt played anyone but I’m around the program a lot. And they are a good football team. Much improved from last year and I thought that when watching them all summer and seeing the talent that transferred in. They are going to be a tougher out then previous years. That’s all I said. And it has nothing to do with beating Central or CCS brains in. They were suppose to do that.
That’s my point - your argument makes no sense to me.
What is the combined record of the teams Baylor has beat this year ?
-
East will not beat Pearl Cohn this year. East has talent but they will not win this game IMO
-
Here is the deal
Baylor plays Webb
Baylor beats Webb
to make Webb look good - talk up Baylor
same concept as name dropping you bumped into a country music star when you live in Nashville- elevation by association. Oh yeah I once met Keith Urban in a bathroom.
I’m not picking on Spartan but I will jump on the Baylor bandwagon when they beat someone.
the argument last year is irrelevant. BA beat them pretty bad - McCallie was a tighter game - McCallie beat BA? BA wins state. I mean ...
I’m not sure the point - my facts say Baylor lost both and they have not played anyone this year to know much about them.
i said early on BA is young but they have played enough people now ( McCallie and Whitehaven ) to say they are pretty good. If they beat up on a few teams ranked 10000 nationally I would say — idk

The Briarcrest pick is interesting. I saw them 2 weeks ago at JP2 and was impressed by the size and athleticsm of their OL & DL.
Zero percent chance this is happening.

Baylor was worst last year and McCallie was better and that was a close ball game until late. I think the final was 20-7. You’re way to high on McCallie and way too low on Baylor if you really think McCallie is going to mercy rule them.
The schedule so far has been weak but that doesn’t mean Baylors not good. Just means they havnt had a chance to prove it yet. Friday is chance number 1.
Also outside of BA (who McCallie also beat last year), McCallie has played no one either. As much as it pains me to say that about my Spartans.
I am just living in facts. Beating teams 47-0 ranked 9500 and 10768 nationally doesn’t show much about a team.
I’ll take your word for it. I hope you are right a strong Baylor team is good for D2 but they have not had a hard game yet so we shall see
-
-
MUS will beat them down this year. I hate to see a weak big red but hey ensworth looks to be back somewhat at least. It’s fun in Nashville when all 3 are clicking
-
Baylor has played no one - I think they are improved but when you beat two teams who are ranked 10,000 nationally it shows no one anything.
It would not surprise me to see McCallie beat them by 4 or 5 tds. I like a stomg D2 aaa so I would love to see every team a very hard out but we just don’t know about Baylor. They have played a very weak schedule so far. I don’t know how it benefits them much to be honest.
it sets them up for a beat down when someone real comes to town

Well, the BA team defense adjusted to us. It was subtle in most cases. They definitely made some adjustments at the half.
I think the OC did a good job of mixing it up. It was obvious that BA is well coached and some things their D just took away. They did what good teams do.
I was impressed by your offense. It’s a power run game with some passes mixed in and the QB has the ability to go downfield.
You are right ba went to a 5-2 at times or 4-3 but nothing major. WH was finding a lot of holes in the 3-4. Why change much when your running back has 120 first half yards - he was impressive.
the game Just hunkered down. Make no mistake about it - BA did not outplay WH in this game. The O line did a great job and the defense found some legs.
I think in the First half both defenses were in What the heck mode as I call it but think about it - there was not a lot of scoring on either side - BA basically won the game on a long run play - only one of the entire game.
we can dice up this game a million ways but it was hard fought by two teams who looked pretty evenly matched at times to me.
All I know is the garbage on this board when people say anything negative about both teams is not true - and it was more apparent to me after this game than ever. The Memphis fans were great - the whitehaven coaches were great and the players played a hard clean game.
could not have asked for a better atmosphere or game in my mind. And I would have said the same if BA had lost this one.

We will be playing this game again next year right? Will it be back in Brentwood or will they travel to the Haven?
BA is traveling to Memphis. From what I have gathered everyone at BA was excited to have this game on the schedule. I saw two interviews with the coach and he mentioned it both times.
He said we are thankful to Whitehaven for taking this game. Also you can hear the announcers saying how much we need more games like this Instate.
The last two weeks for BA have been very difficult and I think the McCallie game prepared them a little for WH. I like how you guys play the game. Always have liked the QB under center. You guys have a very fluid offense. I thought the game was very clean with many big hits on both sides. The refs sure didn’t help the flow but other than that it was as clean a game as I have seen. Very business like / confident from both sides.
I sat in the stands for about 10 min and the BA people near me were saying how much BA would benefit from this game. They all commented on how good you guys looked athletically.
McCallie was big and fast and from what I hear ensworth is as well. I know Knox Catholic is. We needed this game
Your number 1 about blew up our entire backfield but they needed a hard nosed game like this.
Cant imagine there is a better defense to go against anywhere in the state.

Sorry to hear about the QB. Collar bones are tricky and they take a while to heal properly. There was a lot of hard hitting out there.
I enjoyed it. Could have gone either way Play or two here or there. Will help us both in the end. Your QB is very good.

Can’t argue with that. Both so much fun to watch. Good teams around both as well.
