  1. I think Cleve knows he has a good thing going. FCS is losing a lot of seniors this year but they have a very strong group coming up.
  2. It's all over now with FCS holding the gold ball but agree with you about the poor officiating. How on earth can they charge $12 per ticket and not do better.
  3. Just goes to show that "any given team can beat any given team on any given day". It was a real thriller. When Sandoval got pulled due to foul trouble I said under my breath, "We just lost the game". So glad I was wrong. PC is a real class act. Clean game all the way around. Had PC made a few more FT's they would have had the "W".
  4. Congrats to FCS for not only winning the big dance but for pulling in the school's 3rd State Championship this year! Also, so VERY proud of the way the boys played. Unbelievable that we pulled it off with one of our superstars (Sandoval) in foul trouble so sitting on the bench for most of the 3rd period. I have this to say about PC: Someone on here talked about their incredible press and HOLY COW were they right. Have never seen a press like that anywhere, not even in college or NBA. FCS won it all but PC won the "battle of the press". Also, so many classless teams and players out there yet here was PC helping up the FC players, patting each other on the back and so on. GREAT game, GREAT battle and lots to be proud of on both sides. By the way, the FCS baseball team is currently 4-0. Here's hoping for a full house!
  5. 57%? 62.5%? 40%????? Man, the only stat I remember is "w".
  6. How in the world did you completely nail this? Unbelievable!
  7. DoyleHargravesConstruction......I don't know who you are but you absolutely win the award for best post of the year! Oh man....I am laughing my head off right now!
  8. I was referring to "hooploves" post of FCS getting destroyed.
  9. Sports are all about "strategy" not merely running up and down a court or a field exchanging points. It was odd BUT this is a battle that is won only by who has the better strategy. This worked in FCS favor. The half ended with no additional fouls and a one point lead.
  10. That was basically my point. I completely agree that McEwen got hammered on calls but I feel that it was bad all the way around. At one point the official so badly missed a call in FCS favor, the FCS fans almost flipped the building upside down. The ref knows he blew it so I guess to make up for it he just blows his whistle and makes up some stupid "out of the air" foul against McEwen. There I am wearing a green shirt with an FC logo on it and I jump up and yell "WHAT!" in support of McEwen. Friend sitting next to me says, "Hey-that was against them, not us" I plop down in my seat and say, "I know and it was a horrible call that he made up because he so badly blew the no call in our favor!". A month ago in our District Championship the other team shoots a 3 pointer standing out of bounds and it counted! We lost that game by 2 points. It's sick!
  11. I completely agree with you. 2A football was a complete joke this year which is why our round 1 was 42-0, round 4 was 39-6 and the state final was a shutout at 34-0! We couldn't hardly find a team to make us break a sweat! Your post of "this is not football".....no kidding but I love how people get real concerned about a game so they start these posts about how bad they are going to blow the other team away. That's a textbook example of "yikes-I better start trying to swing the momentum the other way and hope other catch on and follow".
  12. Love this post. LOVE IT! So funny. Why don't you ask Trousdale County what they were saying about round 2 of the football playoffs?
  13. You are obviously not an "unbiased fan" if you are saying that. When an FCS player has the ball and a McEwen player runs up to him and wraps his arm around him incidentally (NOT on purpose) hitting him in the stomach and they call a foul on the FCS player who was literally just standing still and dribbling the ball????? Then an FCS player who has had zero fouls the entire game is standing under the hoop.....standing there doing absolutely nothing with his hands not even in the air and a McEwen player sprints from the other end of the court with the ball and hits the FCS player so hard that you hear his body slam against the court and they call a defensive foul on FCS instead of charging against McEwen???? Seriously man. Re-think this.
  14. Didn't think FCS could play two bad games in a row and I was RIGHT! We have to bring it on strong tomorrow. McEwen was VERY sharp tonight and due to our poor FT percentage the game was a real thriller. Was concerned about the fans but even with about 40% less fans we kept it loud. Now on to the officiating. WHAT A COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS JOKE! How in the world can a FCS player fall on top of another FCS player without even remotely touching a McEwen player and get called for a foul? Surely the official mistakingly thought that in that pile of 3 FCS players that one of them was a McEwen player. Between the HORRID officiating and our poor FT %, I am even more impressed that we were able to squeak out a huge win. It's anyones game tomorrow. Everyone was predicting the final would be BTW vs McEwen yet here we are....again. We won state in volleyball. We won state in football. Let's bring it home guys! GO BIG GREEN!
  15. As "GeorgeBailey" said....FCS was definitely NOT on their game tonight. These boys are fantastic and it's about the worse they have played in a very long time. Only other poor performance was at the District Championship against Watertown (FCS lost).........BUT "a win is a win" and we'll take it. McEwen had a massive amount of fans tonight. Unfortunately for FCS it's spring break and tonight was probably also the lowest fan support we've ever had. FCS can beat McEwen if they can step it up from what they did tonight. It would be rare to see them have two consecutive bad games so I'm going to say FCS by 6.
  16. Completely don't understand this. Last nights game was a 2 hour drive away on a school night. If you guys had been at the games at Macon County you would have seen a completely packed FCS side. Same with any of our other away games. When we played Watertown at Watertown many of our fans overflowed to the Watertown side. Basketball is completely NOT an after thought there. Love FCS or hate them, I would challenge anyone to see the drive in those boys and even remotely indicate that they are football and baseball players who are just "passing their time" between sports. You don't end your regular season at 23-2 with that sport being an "after thought".
  17. Congrats to FCS on their first State Championship. I said in my first post about this "The winner is the team who makes the least mistakes". Dresden played with a lot of heart and passion and should be very proud of their season. They never gave up, not even when it was impossible to win the game. They stood there and held their silver ball, yes very disappointed, BUT with a ton of class. Hatchel is an amazing athlete. I am a huge FCS fan but can recognize talent on the other teams as well. I don't get on here and bad mouth anything that is not pro-FCS. Any high school team would be lucky to have him. Dresden just got some bad bounces and the wind and punting just killed them. If you can knock off two #1 seeds and a #2 seed, you are a great team. I was super bummed that "the unstoppable Kyle Wood" from FCS didn't get an MVP honor. Many high school players and coaches on other teams, especially Trousdale, are surely VERY excited that 24 will not be around next year. Dekolas was more than deserving of the MVP honor. That kids got more guts in that little frame that anyone on the planet. I watch him run while carrying 6 guys on his back literally more than twice his size and keep thinking, "How can he possibly be doing that?". Our seniors will be greatly missed next season but we have an extremely strong uprising in the Freshman class. High school football absolutely rocks. Take it any day over college and the "where's my big contract" NFL.
  18. Funny how you say you are from FCS yet you know all these Dresden player numbers, less than 24 hours from the Semi-game......on a team FCS has never once played. Also, if FCS did pay the ref's they should get a refund for all the "no calls" on the other side at the BB game. Funny stuff.
  19. If you were at the FCS/BB game then you would know that the officiating was absolutely horrible the ENTIRE game. Don't get me wrong, if I was a BB fan, I would be beyond furious about that last call but the real story is that the officials didn't throw a single flag the ENTIRE game and if you watch the whole game on video you would see that there were at least 2 "no calls" that went in BB's favor, one which led to an eventual BB touchdown a few plays later. Obviously the last "no call" stings the worse but be real. Let's complain about the whole game, not just the final seconds. With real officials, if this game were replayed entirely FCS would still win. Side note: if these boys are going to play their guts out for this why can't the TSSAA do their part and get real officials? I would gladly pay double the ticket price to help fund it!
  20. Too tough to call. Both teams have knocked off their #1 and #2 teams. Both teams are on a roll. Both teams have a very close win/loss record. It will all come down to who wants it more and who makes the least mistakes. FCS plays with passion and has multiple threats with two incredible QB's and an impressive full back/QB option. I know nothing of Dresden other than what I see in the brackets and read in articles. Anyone who posts on here in some huge favor of either team is crazy. This could be the best thriller of all 8 games in Cookeville next weekend!
