  1. Dyersburg State Community College will be holding a workout for unsigned seniors this Thursday, May 30th at John Overton High School in Nashville, TN. The workout will begin at 12 noon and is free of charge for any seniors or unsigned kids that have graduated from high school.

The workout will be similar to a pro style workout. Each position player will run a 60 yard dash, take infield and batting practice. Pitchers will throw a bullpen of the mound after the position players finish.

We missed this. Are you still looking for any pitchers?

  2. Most years MTSU is better than Tennessee Tech in baseball. They not only have the better team they also have much better facilities. When it comes to academics and the overall campus environment I would say that Tennessee Tech leads the way. All schools have problems but IMO, the MTSU campus has become a dangerous place the last few years and I would not want my own kids to attend the school.

    Agreeeed!

  3. Haven't seen, but heard Collinwood gets bye due to coin flip, Loretto vs Summertown, and Perry vs Wayne Co.

Oh, WOW! I've never understood that coin flip rule. In my opinion, it should be runs scored then runs allowed on this district game that decide seedings when it comes down to a tie.

  4. I said "kinda". Anyway Looking forward to tournament however, from what I hear 1st game of tourney for us is 2 vs 3, never heard of that before. Funny things go on when tourney in c'wood. Don't understand the coin flip for 1st either. Even though s'town strength of schedule is higher, I would rather see it go by overall record than a stupid coin flip!

How did the seedings end up for the district tournament?

  5. Two big games tonight from two outstanding pitchers from White-House Heritage as they play District Rival - McEwen.

    Logan Piercefield threw a no-hitter in a 6 inning 11-1 Victory against McEwen (10K's).

Evan Allison threw just 1 hitter in a 7 inning 4-0 victory against McEwen 2nd game (12K's)

  6. Like I said in another post, Summertown doesn't even have a senior on the team. Very young and still improving every game. Kinda dominated you in game 2

That's VERY impressive to hear that Summertown doesn't have even ONE senior! Very nice! Great feats they've already accomplished for being such a young team.
  7. All out of White House Heritage -

    Ryan Montgomery - 21K's 15.1 Innings 2 Wins 0 Lose ERA: 2.28 (9 Hits)

    Logan Piercefield - 53K's 35.1 Innings 5 Wins 0 Lose ERA: 0.79 (16 Hits)

    Evan Allison - 73K's 40 Innings 5 Wins 1 Lose ERA: 2.12 (24 Hits)

Logan & Evan are throwing mid-upper 80's both unsigned. Ryan has legitimate off-speed he is also unsigned.

  8. I don't know anything about anybody outside of the Chattanooga area, but I'm guessing that Boyd Buc, South Pitt and Silverdale Academy are all relatively equally strong and two of them will go pretty far this year.

Are their any 'official rankings' for baseball (like the A.P. has for football & basketball)? I don't live or die by rankings, but they are generally a good starting point for a discussion.

I'd like to see a 'official ranking' too. My guess was based on VERY LIMITED knowledge of most of these team. I was just trying to get this thread going again.

  9. Well, as you can see the district has definitely gone off course from what we thought was gonna happen. There has been a few surprises that nobody was really expecting. First of all, I didn't realize before the season had started that Houston Co. didn't really lose anybody last year. They have some strong pitching, but their hitting is pretty spotty in the line-up. Nashville Christian wasn't near as good as people thought they were gonna be, they looked really low on pitching and their hitting just hasn't came around enough. Clarksville Academy had some pretty decent pitching and the top half of the line-up can hit pretty well. Heritage has done more than what people have expected, AGAIN. They have 3 DOMINANT pitchers 2 of which have over 50 strike-outs on the season already. Their whole line-up can hit the ball with several kids on the bench who can come in and deliver a pinch hit at any moment. East Robertson just doesn't have enough pitching, but they can hit the ball pretty well. McEwen, well they're just McEwen :roflol: .

Jo Byrns is also a really good team this year. They have pitching and hitting! I would look for them to try to make a run in the tournament TOO!

    My Final Regular Season Guess:

    1. White House Heritage

    2. Houston County

    3. Jo Byrns

    4. Clarksville Academy

    5. East Robertson

    6. Nasvhille Christian

    7. McEwen

    My District 10 Tournament Guess:

    1. White House Heritage

    2. Houston CO.

    3. Jo Byrns

    4. East Robertson

    5. Clarksville Academy

    6. Nashville Christian

    7. McEwen

    My Region 5 Guess:

    1. White House Heritage

    1. Middle Tennessee Christian

    2. Houston CO.

    2. Community

Good luck with the rest of the season everyone! I hope everybody stays safe out there!

  10. I'm very excited to see the Clarksville Academy and East Robertson game. That should be very exciting. East Robertson looks like they are going to have a heavy Junior class this year. Two junior pitchers for East should be starting the two games. Both of these boys have a really good sense of accuracy!
