  1. Never was hired, so no he wasn't banned.  Some of the coacher around felt he was a threat and complained about him being around the program, training the girls etc.  But then look what happened, the other rutherford co schools went out and got themselves a trainer for their girls team! Which is ironic, because that's what they complained about him for. But to answer your question, no he wasnt banned.  Please don't think I'm getting smart. Thanks for your input.

No problem. That is why I was asking. I guess I heard wrong.

  2. Recruiting who? He didn't have a team to recruit for? If you're talking Smyrna who did he recruit there? But again, just look at the FACTS, LCA has girls that didn't even see the floor at their zone school, so that tells me either the other coaches missed something, or this dude can coach! Can't have it both ways! It's one or the other!

You never really answered my question. Was he or wasn't he banned from the public schools? I never said he couldn't coach, I actually know for a fact and from experience he can coach and gets a lot out of the girls that play for him. I just asked a simple question about something else. But I believe you are on the right track with Smyrna...........

  3. Let me get this straight...LC avoids TSSAA recruiting restrictions by refusing to join...attempts to schedule large schools with talented teams as an "audition" to select opposing players to target as acquisitions...fans grumble because said schools refuse to place their programs in the no-win situation where a win doesn't matter, with the prospect of losing players to the opponent. Did I forget something? Join TSSAA, build your program as others have to do, let the girls prove how great they are in the tournament format, and stop whining.

    +1

  4. I see that 60% of Riverdale's starters transferred in from other schools and 80 % if you count the senior who transferred there after the 8th grade.  Sounds like an investigation by the TSSAA might be in order at some point.

Actually granddadone, it is 80% transfers not counting the 8th grader, but why would an 8th grader count and what does it really matter? A TSSAA investigation? Why would they investigate since all transfers are approved through them anyway. Seems to me they would be investigating themselves for approving the transfers, which was all done by the rules.

Really, like it or not, success breeds success. When a program is doing good, kids want to play there. Also, a lot of these kids play together in the spring and summer. I can see where they would want to play together on the same high school team. Just my 2 cents.

  5. If it is that important to know....Shanique Heard at point guard and shooting guard Alexa Middleton. 2 of the 5 starters have been there since 9th grade. It is an all senior starting line up.

Well, if it is that important to know, I do believe Heard was a transfer out of Atlanta. So, if that is the case, 1 starter was there as a freshman. Not that it truly matters in the grand scheme of things. Was just trying to answer the question asked.

  6. Just curious how many of those top 10-11 players on Riverdale's team have actually went to school there since they were freshman and how many of those are starters?

For one thing, RD does not go 10-11 players deep. About 7 get the majority of the playing time in close games. To somewhat answer your question, of the starters, I believe only 1 has been there since she was a freshman.

  7. Don't know how far reaching it could be.........

It was for having contact with 8th graders, which incidentally are actually zoned for FCHS. From my understanding these 8th graders rode the bus to the district tournament. The TSSAA stated if it weren't for the fact the students will more than likely end up at FCHS, the penalties could have been more severe.

Story was in the Winchester newspaper, but I can't find the article online.

  8. Does anyone know who returns for each team next year? Is MC still the favorite even with the loss of Garland? How about MTCS? Great job 9A in 2012 in what many considered an off year.

Losing Garland will definitely hurt MC some. Cascade and MTCS should give them a run for top spot next year in 9A.
