Bradley Football team is extremly close. A great bunch of young men who do not care who makes the play as long as it is made.
This is a True team and losing Devin Friday night hurt all of the Bear Nation.
Jefferson County was not only a solid football team but also very Classy during the game and after concerning dealing with "loss and serious injury that Devin went thru. It was nice to see True Sportsmanship and Jefferson County folks should be proud of their young men, fans and administration.
We have so many underclassmen making plays on both sides of the ball it is amazing what they have done to this point in the season.

And for the record, the kid is best friends with the middle school student whom was at lake Forest middle school. He was working out at Bradley but had no chance of going there lol. It was one of those deals that "hey I'll go workout with my friend at his school". How do I know? Because the kid is my cousin and his mom would never allow him to go to Bradley.
Exacltly Clevand and Bradley actually have friends that go to the other schools. I lived at the Rec Center and Marwin and Chucky were 2 of the coolest dudes in the 80's came to Bradley all the time and hung out. Benny came to alot of Bradley parents and disscussed transferring if their kids could play ball, Brian McGhee and Donnie Harris are 2 that did it.
Let kids go where they want to play and parents want them to go, i is a Free land we live in.
Like I said before nobody is getting anything but a free education anywany and we all live in same community.

Read where Bradley Central head coach Damon Floyd is serving a 2 game suspension for an apparent rules violation. Anybody have the scoop on this?

Here is the scoop, Cleveland Middle player told lake forrest player he wanted to come to Bradley but the Bradley coach did not want him. So, the lake forrest kid text the Bradley coach and tells him what cleve middle kid said. Bradley coach text lake forrest kid back and tells him any kid that wants to come to play for him is welcome. He text cleve middle kid the text, that kid shows his parents they screen shot the text take it to the cleve coach and he takes it the principal and school director and together they call TSSAA and state that Bradley coach is recruiting.
Now, so you know the kid from lake forrest is little brother to Bradley QB 2 years ago and spends the night with coach's son and his dad played college ball with bradley coach that is why he had the coach's number in 1st place.
TSSAA in all their wisdom deemed that Bradley coach did nothing wrong dispelling myth that cleve kid was not welcome, however he broke rule texting the family friend and ball boy that was working out with Bradley because he was a rising 9th grader coming to Bradley??.
If Coach Crawford was at Cleveland this never would have taken place b/c he would have picked up phone called Bradley coach and uncovered what was really going on a Cleve middle kid wanted to be wanted that's it.
News Flash all High School Coach's want student athletes that can play and be a positive teammate to come to their school!
No incentive was offered just advice to call Bradley and set up tour and meet with guidance counselor about enrolling then he could communicate with young man.

what a joke recruiting in high school public schools. "incentives" booster club membership and they can work the concession stand for home games??? Talk to private schools about scholarships. public schools offer free and reduced lunch that's about all they can offer.

It was a decent tourney, not great. Some of the games were OK but several really weak teams in my opinion. Fulton by far the most aggressive team which is why they won. Maryville has a really weak bench. I saw them play, I think Scott County, right after my schools loss. Not sure. They have several catch and shoot guys but when they face a team like Fulton or anyone with pressure they are done. Only a couple of kids can get a shot anytime they want. The rest can't get a shot off if they have to dribble. Not sure what kinda offense Maryville runs but its blatantly obvious you have kids that can't get open, even with screens. Other than 2-3 players that start for Maryville they wouldn't have got the ball up the court with much success without them. The coach subbed his guard out with a lead of 4-5 and bam down 2 in the blink of a eye. So I didn't really get that. Anyway, I thought Fulton was pretty good and will probably make a run at the state tourney. Maryville, not so much. Really weak on the boards. Really weak on free throws and the offense run might work against a subpar team with no post play but when they run into a team with a good post and pressure they are done. Especially if some of their starters come out. Not sure why that coach subs so much. Might understand if it was equal players but its not even close. McMinn Central, Bradley, William Blount, Alcoa, Austin East, all down a ton. Kinda of sup rising really. My last opinion, Maryville seemed to think they are a 3pt team which showed against weak opponents but the players with all them threes never had a chance with pressure. What ever happened to the mid range game? Sad state of affairs in basketball.

1. Bradley Central won 3 games and lost 1 to Futon the only team you seemed impressed with by 5 points? ?
2. Maryville was very scrappy and undersized but very well coached

Let's be realistic The county schools in Bradley struggle to get to .500. The last time the bears had 7+ wins 3 years in a row was what 79 80 81. 6 wins your one game from 500. How many losing year did they have in the late 80s to just recently and what was there record last year. 5 and 5. I was there they weren't even in most games after the 1st quarter and people talk about how bad Walker Valley has been in their short history. Really. Only Cleveland has a tradition of winning for multiple years. Truth.
Here are some 3 to 5 year periods of winning for Bradley Central all after the "81 season.
Noteable is the record the last five years and the ability to be the only team in our district to make the playoffs 4 years in a row.

It is tough to win "consistently" in a 3 school county especially when Football is not a point of emphasis within the schools administration. However, during the last 5 years Bradley has won football games 3 times vs Cleveland, and 5 vs WV.
WV is not bad at all nor is Cleveland or Bradley. None of three are deep, so during a season when injuries occurr getting Wins is much more difficult.
Also, Cleveland has lost talented players to WV which in the past would have provided depth to Cleveland roster.
Cleveland teams 93 thru 96 were loaded with talent and depth, hence the win streak and titles. With 3 schools we are not likely to see this again hence the absence of anything like that since the 95 season.
Cleveland Record from 2008 thru 2012 is ( 26-27 ) ? the 2013 season takes them above 500 by 6 games.

Bradley offense has to execute in the Red zone like they have done out of the Red zone.
Offense does this and Bear fans will appreciate this team and Winning will take care of itself.

Exactly and the games are played with passion and with respect. Cheap shots and late hits very rare.

Never said one word that your student athletes were bad sports, nor did I say we were perfect, I said I was not sure what the beef was between Cleveland and Rhea, I found both to be very sportsman like, and that the only school that really popped off at us was Bradley, and for the record it was not the players. I find it funny some from Bradley is calling me arogant. Thanks for calling my sportsmanship into question, I workm on it Jeez.

Hide and watch! Your not the only ones that are not Bradley fans....... If you can't be good a least be relevant.
Playing for title is relevant reguardless if you win or lose.
This is what I mean by aarogant posts. EH had alot of talent the past 2 or 3 years but you or EH certainly did not invent the game.
By the way your coach is very classy guy act like him, humility is a great attribute.

I would guess that all post on here are just someone opinion. And opinions are like rear ends everybodys got one. I have been told more then once that Bradleys got real thin skin, I guess its true.
Not at all thin. Just get tired of the aarogance of some posts. All the student athletes at all the schools do good and bad things at all the schools. EH is not perfect nor is Bradley. RC has been known to be imperfect as well. If you come on in the internet and slam kids or coach's or a school then yes it is going to offend folks.
My post was to correct the people that come on giving incorrect info and proposing that Bradley came up to Rhea and was doing all this crazy stuff alot was reaction to cheap shots, trash talking. In the end I stated RC is really good and will be Solid but they definately slammed a 3rd team back on the track and we heard cheers from the stand end his career... Obviously that is not the stance all RC people take but at least 1 felt that way. Good luck to all the teams and student athletes may we all have better sportsmanship Chatta cane

Bradley Central has played for the 5AAA crown 3 out of last 5 years and not lost to RC in 5 yrs
2-3 vs Owls last 5 who own EH
3-2 vs Raiders last 5 games guess you did not know.

Bradley is notorious for starting fights in scrimmages. The only people that say otherwise are Bradley folk. They love taking cheap shots, hitting after the whistle, and talking trash. If you don't believe it, ask any team that scrimmages them.
Talking trash seriously this coming from EH fan ? Ask Baylor if anything you stated in your post happened in a 3 hour scrimmage?

Doug Vick why would you say that Bradley has participated in alot of football games and scrimmages without any fighting or cheap shots taken place. Some times you get treated with the same respect you are given. No issues what so ever in the last 5 scrimmages taken place with of course the RC one. Of course your opinion is what it is but you might want to look in the mirror.

Dont get to excited about whipping up on Bradley. They are a very young team and only return 1 skill player that got any significant playing time last year. As far as your schedule goes for next year dont get to far ahead of yourselves because if I remember correctly Walker Valley beat you guys last year. So anyone can sneak up on you.
Bradley will be fine Burt, I assure you nobody had any problems with the Baylor scrimmage. There is just alot of excitment coming from RC because they have been down for awhile and the Walker loss hurt their pride a bit. Game planning for the wing t and having officials watching the action will help any opposition when playing RC. They do excute very well with the Catholic coach at the helm. Alot of tough kids will always be ready to fight and that is a compliment to Rhea Co. people.

RC wasn't starting fights they were tired of cheap shots from punk players, happens every time Bradley comes here. Pretty amazing RC had no fights during games in 2013 with the exception of the spring scrimmage against Bradley last year. See a trend CBRF?
RC was so innocent when they threw the TB onto the track after a player was ran out of bounds. I am sure it was an accident. Just like the RC assistant coach throwing punchs at players. He said it was accidental. 8 to 1 was not the score either. Rhea is definately tough and going to be good but for you to say they do not talk smack, cheap shot, or fight is absurd. Bradley has handed out some pretty good butt kickings to RC the last 4 or 5 years so I understand the hate, however No reason to lie on the computer.

Those were the years that the middle schools had 7 8 9 grades. Or they didn't play varsity.

Right and all their titles were from the 6 on 6 days and Jim Smiddy the legendary coach never win a game in the state tourney went it went to 5 on 5. Paul Cretton took over and that year with Amy Geren and Paige Redmond they finished second to shellbyville. Geren was named MVP of the tourney and was on the losing team. I believe that was the last time the had two D1 signees on the same team until this year.
This would be the 3rd year in a row they make trip over to boro IF CC girl does not knock out our senior leader and player of year in Region finals. Although we will never know for sure but I would say Caroline could have made up 2 point difference to get us there!
Paul Cretton is one heck of coach and Geren and Redmond were studs.

Oakland plays much bigger than they actually are, but I was still suprised they outrebounded Bradley with those 2 big girls down low. Just glad to know that one of them will coming to Middle
One of our bigs was recruited to play the 3 position in college. She guarded Oaklands point guard and that takes her away from the basket, hence the lack of rebounds although she still had 10.
Oakland was very well coached they just needed more shooters 10 and 00 seemed to be the only 2 with the green light from outside the paint. FREE THROWS wow our leader could not throw it in the ocean but she still made Free throws. Great team though and I loved their Post players game.
Just think, several folks thought Bradley played a "weak" schedule and there is "no way" we could beat a powerful middle tn team or any good team for that matter. What is great about athletic competition, talk on forums is just that Talk and usually it is opinions and we all know what they are like.

I don't know if only seniors are picked, but I'd put ether of the sophomore twins at Elizabethton up against any of these girls. One I think scored 41 as a freshman in Murfreesboro last year. They have only lost 3 games 2 to science hill and one to the soon the be SC state champs Dorman. Both 4a programs. They shut down the Grainger County kid Wed night and won 78-51. They are fun to watch
Bradley played Dorman also "Glory" ! Here Cyclone is referring to them as the future State Champs in SC another quality team that we don't play...

If you have played this great game then you are aware that is the greatest TEAM game played.
The young receivers are getting better and better each week as they get comfortable playing Varsity football.
There is one that played Varsity last year and he is ridiculously good, you might know him as CARP he is leading by example for the others who are all in with getting better every day at practice.
Our offense line has never played Varsity and they are doing an Outstanding job run and pass blocking for their teammates. A bunch of young men that are also getting better everyday in Practice and taking what they learn there and applying to games.
With only 2 starters back on offense and mostly sophomore and juniors playing now it has been amazing to see the success this team has accomplished.
Defense all you can say is they are the HEART of this team and Lead with Determination and Passion on every play. Mostly underclassmen as well with 4 seniors leading them, they are truly fun to watch this season!
Congrats on 4-1 start much work to be done but keep up the good work.
