I was thinking logistics as it’s right in the middle
That makes too much sense for the T$$AA to go for it

They could even reach out to across state lines. I’m sure premier Kentucky or alabama teams would want to try them. Good luck lol
They’ve played one of the top teams in Mississippi the past 2 years

I think Oakland still needs 2-3 games for next year if I’m not mistaken. Tonight may not help them find any takers. Teams should want to play them, however. It will only make you better in the long run

those boys fought and clawed their way to this game. Had they gotten in the end zone on that second half opening drive i think it’s a different game. but that stop and then the big run on the next play just absolutely sucked every ounce of life out of them. i hate it for those seniors. worked their tails off all year to get them there just to have it all implode.
I hated to see it unfold that way. It’s the nature of the game unfortunately. Those 2 plays completely took the life out of them, you hit the nail on the head

i’ll have to take y’all’s word for it. However i was far from the only one who took it that way. an ovation for the seniors is one thing. but like i said it didn’t happen. doesn’t matter either way. like i said, hats off to oakland. the dynasty continues. only team in tennessee that can beat them at this point in the season is Lipscomb. and i’m not sure that changes anytime soon
Congrats to Beech on a great season as well

he had the entire 4th quarter to do that. the game was over 2 minutes into the second half. there was no need to call a timeout with 12 seconds left to do that. unless it was strictly to pull the seniors for an ovation. but it didn’t look like there was any ovation. but doing it to just make subs at that point of the game is ridiculous. he had the entire second half to let subs play.
I hate that things snowballed on Beech the way they did, they played a great first half.
Regardless of the reason the timeout was called, Oakland is not a classless program. Creasy is as classy as it gets

yes! maybe he was trying to sub in some kids?
I’m sure this was it. Trying to let some kids play in a state championship game. It’s not like they tried to tack on more points. Oakland has always been a class act under Creasy

i don’t think anyone saw this coming. not even the biggest oakland faithful knew it would be this bad. Beech was there, 4 yard away from potentially tying it on a great opening drive in the second half. That stop and the ensuing 88 yard run, ended the game. Beech had no gas left in the tank after that.
Beech has nothing to be ashamed of. Oakland has done this to many a team

If I were Lipscomb Academy, I’m making contact with both Creasy and Crabtree for their opening. Both have the skins on the wall for that job.
I don’t think Creasy would do that but I would make him tell me no

As a fellow sumner county guy we all silently hoped beech would lose. Thought it would be closer.
Oakland is a force. They could match up in close games with most of the top teams in the nation.
Cpa game had to be a flukestill can’t believe that one
I know everyone mentions the loss to CPA, but there were a few things that led to that result.
Oakland was on fall break that week. It was a Thursday night game sandwiched between 2 big region games for Oakland, I believe Creasy called it a trap game. They came out flat that night and CPA punched them in the mouth. They weren’t able to respond that night like they usually do. At the end of the day, it was probably the best thing that could have happened to them at the time

Exactly. What has beech shown. Compared to Oakland scoring at will. The Oakland D has an answer for everything.
beech. Congrats on making it. Ran into a buzz saw.
would also like to see LA play Oakland lol
the dilfer bowl
Except Dilfer is gone

Great effort by Beech. Congrats to Oakland on their 3rd straight championship.
Scary thing is, Oakland will likely be better the next 2 years than they were this year

Huge 4th down stop by Oakland and finally hit the big one. Might be danger time for Beech

Beech gets the ball to start the 2nd half, need a score
Will be interesting to see how the 2nd half plays out. Creasy is one of the best with halftime adjustments. I’m sure Beech will make some adjustments of their own. Beech is right there, they couldn’t ask for much more. Recovering their own fumble on their first possession was a big play as well

Huge 4th down conversion and TD before the half. Missed XP hurts. Got ourselves a ballgame anyway

Beech needs to keep riding Johnson

I think they are wearing Beech down
That’s exactly what they do. That scoring drive was impressive

Best thing Beech has done so far is keep Oakland from hitting the big play. Time of possession has to be pretty lopsided but Beech defense doing good job so far

the guide on cable has 6 PM but I expect more like 6:15
Yeah it could be even later based on when the 2A game ended

What time is this one actually starting? The earlier games running over have bumped it back a bit

IMHO this was the best game so far of the weekend. It was well coached and well played. Every evenly matched in every area
Agree, best game so far. Hoping Oakland & Beech will be a good one as well

25 could have got it there running straight up the middle. He carried Riverside to the title game. They should have let him carry them to the win.
I thought they should’ve given it to 25 more today as well

The reason I did this was to show how easy it is to guess who will win in this mess the TSSAA has created. Need to quit this every child needs a trophy and go back to three classes.
Agree about there being too many classes, things are too watered down. There would be some absolute wars if it ever went back to three classes. Hard to see it happening though
6A TITLE - BEECH vs OAKLAND

I’m not sure how much of Dilfer’s staff he’s taking with him to UAB but I’m sure there are some. He definitely had some guys on his LA staff who could coach with him at the college level
