Weather and slow starts by the teams involved kills any interest i had in this game.  I guess this makes me a "fair" weather fan.  Henry County should win by 3TDs at minimum and get a MUCH needed win.

I was wrong about Liberty due to the coaching change.  Haywood looks to be the favorite to beat.  We will need to play a good game vs Bolivar as well.  My take is 8-2 3 seed at worst.

What is everyone's thoughts on the upcoming season?  

We play:

      MLK Prep- Memphis            Brighton            at Obion County R            Millington            at Haywood R            at Jackson North Side            at Bolivar Central            Ripley R            at Chester County            Crockett County R (for region championship?)

 

We will have to beat Liberty at some point as well.

I have a feeling that you have absolutely nothing to back that claim up with.

I know there were several runner-ups in east tn this season.  I assume you assume I am referring to Central.  If that is the case you would be incorrect.  I am referring to the ONLY western team to make it to the Championship and not win.  Though I could be wrong, I have heard it from multiple sources.

I hear big changes are in store for the Runnerups.

Well I'm pulling real hard for Liberty but they better have a good game plan and excecute. Dyersburg was able to run the ball down their throat all night . Only punted once. Our problem was we could not stop them . I don't think Alcoa will have that problem.

I like it.  Especially if we get stuck in a huge region.  It is what Kentucky does I think.

Hey.. HEY... no kidding. Are there any bona fide decision makers for TSSAA reading this? Or those who know them? No kidding now.. Here an idea, yes keep it 8 regions for each class 1A-6A, but due to there being larger sized ones, why not divide up the bigger 8-9 team regions into an East & West section (or North-South). Like some college conferences do. And they play just teams in their half of this split/divided conference, and same amount of non-region games as most other 4-5 team Regions. Then at end have the top 2 from each half of the split/divided region be the teams that make it into playoffs, thus the 4 teams needed are ready & worthy. They'd have better teams going into playoffs then imo. Oh IDK, it may not work. I just thinking out loud, trying to be fair to good, winning-season teams being in playoffs as they've earned the chance & deserve to he there. It's tough justifying zero, one, and two win teams going to second season when 5, 6, & 7 win teams are out. See this idea? Is it workable?

One would assume Cantrell is running Spring Practice.  Will Cantrell get the job if they come over here to Newbern and have a good showing in the scrimmage if weather permits?

No plans for a new school in Weakley County or surrounding areas. I'll throw a dark horse into the mix. Gleason head coach Noah Lampkins. Not that he is interested but he has done more with less than anyone around. I was also talking to a buddy from Murray, Ky and he mentioned Keith Hodge but I really don't see that happening. Personally, I thought Chad would go to Murray to work with Keith again, until I heard Chad will be coaching at Oak Ridge next fall with Gaddis.

Lampkins would be a mistake in my opinion.  I do not see Hodge either. Ward would be a great choice, but I do not think it will happen.  This is dragging out long enough that it makes it look like Cantrell will get it.  Who will actually be responsible for making the hire? 

Henry Co is a completely different area. They have only 1 high school so all kids go there..If Dyer Co and dyersburg were together then they would be a power house every year....

They would be with the right coaching staff.

 

How about Peabody then?

Money can not buy u a championship. Just look at all of the Championships Coach Counce brought to Dyersburg. So its not about the money its about the vision that a coach has and the ability to get the kids to believe in his vision. Every great coach starts somewhere.

Let's take your second sentence and insert Henry County in Dyersburg's spot.  Still think that first sentence is correct?
