  1. I was going to hop back in and give a prediction for the game, but I can't settle on one. I think this will be great game. This will one will be close, high scoring, and back and forth all night. I think it ends up being a 35-28, 34-31, type of score. I won't be surprised by either winning the game, so I'll settle on that. Hope Page can get it done! Safe travels from Spring Hill. Hope we see a great crowd tonight.

  2. I don't post as much as I used to, but I'll dive into this one to support Page. First of all congrats to both schools on reaching this point in the post season. It's also great to see Marshall county and Giles County win, meaning all 4 teams from our region won in the first round, but this thread is for our game.

A couple of thoughts. Spring Hill has a darn good football team. It's already obvious to me that they finally have a good football coach at the head of their program again. This year that team looks much more organized, motivated, and prepared then the last few years. They have talent, but they're also being coached up. I haven't seen that program look this way in a few years. They're not a state championship team, but much improved from the last few years.

Page has also exceeded my expectations. I've followed and supported the school ever since I've played, and I didn't know what to expect from this group when the season started. I'll admit I didn't expect them to be in this position, with all of the new faces in starting positions. The coaching staff deserves a lot of credit for getting this team ready, and more importantly the kids for making it happen.

I think both teams have continued to gel and improve as the season has progressed, and they will both be ready to play in this one. I think it will be very similar to the first game. Back and forth, and close at the end. I think Page will squeak it out.

  3. Any predictions on how the region does this week?

    Spring Hill vs. McGavock...SH

    Lawrenceburg vs. Lincoln County...LC

    Giles County Vs. Shelbyville... GC

    Page vs. Lipscomb Academy....LA

    Marshall County vs. John Overton...MC

    Tullahoma vs. Franklin County...Tull

I agree across the board with these picks, actually. I wish I wasn't picking Lipscomb to win, but that's the way I see that going.

Marshall Overton is a toss up, but I think Marshall can pull it out. Theo Jackson is a terrific athlete and player, but Marshall has some great athletes as well. I'm considering making the trip over for that game.

  4. Giles County may not have an impressive record, but this team will come to play tonight. Its the playoffs, so anything can happen. Giles county will give them all they want, and are very capable of pulling the upset. They're big up front and have a couple of good backs, one of which is really good.

Good luck to the bobcats, from a Page fan.

  5. Sorry I haven't been around this week to join in the conversation. Hopefully the rain isn't to heavy once this game kicks off. From what I hear about East Hamilton, you guys are going to come ready to play.

Page will come ready to play too, though. This is the first time Page has hosted a playoff game in a few years. I can guarantee that will play a part in tonights contest.

I'm not sure on a prediction yet, but I expect a great game rain or shine.

Hope you guys have safe travels coming in to town.

  6. Are we better off eating at one of the Murfreesboro exits before we get to the exit we take to get there.

You should definitely do that. Page doesn't have to much around it, unfortunately. Just houses and neighborhoods, ha. Stop in Murfreesboro so you can have plenty of choices. They have some good food options in that town anyway.

  7. It all depends on how things shake out. The top 2 teams are playing Friday night for first place. While I don't think it makes a huge difference either way, it's still worth watching. Both are good football teams that will come well prepared either way. Both are darn good on the offensive side of the ball, and underrated on defense. They can be sneaky good any given Friday.

The 3 and 4 remain unset. 3 teams are vying for 2 spots. All 3 have had a tough year, but I wouldn't sleep on any of them. They will be tough outs regardless. Especially one school in particular that I think should never be underestimated.

  8. I haven't spent as much time around here this year, since it seems like some of the other good posters have left, and not every school in this region has been as competitive this year. This is one of the biggest games of the season, at least in the mid state. District championship and home field in the playoffs on the line.

An argument could be made #15 for page is the best player in this district. The interesting part of it? The QB's improved so much that you could make similar arguments for him.

Page has an offense that is well balanced and very efficient. Defense isn't a slouch either.

Marshall has a great team, with a few pretty darn good players. They have good coaching staff and solid players across the board.

Make no mistake about it, though. The patriots will come ready to play.

  9. With this game becoming an official rivalry game, I've decied its time to come out of retirement. Sounds like Fairview has a good team this season. Should be a great challenge. I can't wait to see the Beathard kid play. With the new transfer making plays, and Roberts leading the way on offense, the patriots get it done. Page 28 Fairview 24!

Hope everyone from Fairview making the trip, gets here safely and enjoys their experience at Page this year. Same goes for Patriot fans. It should be a great amosphere.

Wish we could get to go west, somehow. 2 weeks ago, I liked our chances of it happening, but it doesn't look to be the case now.

Gerry, in your opinion, do my Page Patriots have any chance of being able to go west, in quad 3? Anything that might make that happen?
