I've heard valley forge might be next.  I know there's been talk of either using the chs building for 6-8th or just housing them all at the elementary which would make sense from a financial standpoint.  From a parents viewpoint, I hate the idea.  But I can also see why it should be done.  Roan mountain is now in the hands of the citizens club.  There are fewer young adults than ever living up here.  I just don't want it to happen while we are loaded in girls sports.  We have a talented sophomore class that I'd like to see finish under coach Birchfield.

I'm not sure what you mean it's in the citizens club hands?i thought there was about the same amount of young adults as older folks.i know more and more people that were born in Roan mtn are moving to other places, both my brother, and myself have moved away, not for any other reason that we couldn't afford to purchase anything in roan mtn,but that's another subject.so is Cloudland gonna have enough to play

If they were serious about a new school they would have used the Covid money on it. Instead they used it to expand Hunter Elementary and shut down Keenburg.

From what I understand is they're gonna make hunter the biggest elementary in carter co,i truly believe that they will be shutting more schools down, maybe not in the next couple of yrs but it will be sooner rather than later. They really need to do something,Hampton elementary is busting at the seems, and Cloudland elementary has empty classrooms.Don't know if any of you guys have heard about the new district rules, supposably kids are being sent back to the school they're districted to,so maybe that will help even out some numbers

They usually play about 11, its pretty much always been iron man football. Just can't afford injuries. The school is just to small these days.

Yeah I'm well aware of them only usually play in 11 or 12 players, times are just so different than when I played up there

There aren’t two better teams than Wayne County I don’t think. They may not win it, but there aren’t two better teams.

I think Wayne County wins it all fwiw.

What in the heck does any of this mean, maybe im not reading this correctly

Hampton’s big has dropped a few pounds and is a little quicker than last year.   Not seen Humboldt play, but Hampton will give their all for 4 quarters and probably press the majority of time as well.

The big for hampton is not the same big from last yr,the big this yr is a little more athletic, not as physical.hampton will play as hard has they can for 4 quarters, but they lose focus some that's cost them a few times this season

We made them look better than what they are.  Lady Landers are lost right now.  Sahara's injury hurt but we should still be in every game with the top teams.  There's such good chemistry with the younger players but they're not playing well with the older ones.  One is trying to do too much and we're not getting any offensive output from the other two.  It may be too late to fix it and it could mean we'll be in the dugout early.

I will agree with the statement that the Landers looked lost,i saw a team that was beat before they even started, and i know that losing a player of that caliber can cause a team to look out of place, but the others need to step up,or sit down.

What people don't understand is we are too small of a school and in a location where we are just not going to be a powerhouse every year.  Every group that comes through have different parents and those parents might be raising their boys different.  Alot comes into play when you're fielding a team at the 1a level

I agree with you,but I also think that some of the problem is the people moving to the mtn are retired, and have no connection to the school, and some but not all parents are raising their boys different, plus there are a lot more distractions
