  1. What would be sad is if I paid 8000 dollars to put my stud athlete in a school made specifically for sports ...and that school drops down to the weakest division in the state....Secondly,since when do you "vote" for seeding, that's a new one to me...We would have voted uFCa last place every year if that was the case... :roflolk: And if they do vote...I guarantee GP will be the one voted to last.

Once again we are not CPA, BA, or Ensworth. They would only vote if TC decides to forfeit league games. They can't just vote on seeding. Try to keep up.

  2. Roy....We here in Trousdale County are all in the same boat...That Satterfield man is got the balls to step up and be heard and from what i'm being told TC will not be the only team in the district to do this. Maybe T$$AA and GP will get the message....but I doubt it, some people are to ignorant to read the writing.

Actually, it looks like TC is going to be the only team to end up doing it. And from what it looks like that will cost you any district seeding chances. It looks like the other schools will vote to have TC be seeded last in all the district tournaments. So by your reasoning that GP is so above everyone else and will automatically be the #1 seed, all of the other TC coaches will either have to play GP (If your reasoning is correct) in the first round of the district tournament or end their seasons on a forfeit. It would be sad for Seniors on any of those teams to have to forfeit their last games because of this cowardice move.

  3. No dog in the fight here........but while you might not agree with Satterfield's decision, his reasoning is fair. It's a waste of time and money for them to play in the non-revenue sports. Satterfield is doing what's best in the interests of his school.

Just like Goodpasture did what was best for them........dropping to AA in football and A in every other sport, instead of going Division II.

You can't make a straight drop from AA to DII can you? Forfeiting games is a coward move and sends a bad message to the students.

  4. LOL. Overreact much?

Not really, I just thought we were suppose to stereotype after that. I wonder how many people will be upset in Trousdale Co if indeed they do follow through with this and forfeit games? Or is the community as a whole just brainwashed.

  5. We stand NO chance of beating ya'll in anything but Football, everyone in TN knows this.

If every public school on ya'lls schedule will follow our lead...

maybe T$$AA would get the picture and put ALL of ya'll sweatervesters in the RECRUITING league where ya'll deserve to be.

Congratulations Mr. Satterfield... T$$AA sucx...and Go Jackets!!

Sweatervesters? So you backwoods, teethless, rednecks are scared to play against a bunch of sweatervesters? Pathetic! Only reason you are playing in football is because the TSSAA will not let you forfeit that game. To much $$$ to lose. Once again, you play the privates you want to, thinking you can win, and then act like cowards when Goodpasture is on the schedule? Makes no sense, we are not a CPA or an Ensworth.

  6. Trousdale Superintendent Satterfield informed Goodpasture yesterday that they will not be playing them in any sport but football. How cowardly of an act is this? It is not like Goodpasture is a CPA or Ensworth type school. Plus the fact that Trousdale has no issues playing smaller DII schools they think they might be able to hammer. This is a pathetic and weak showing by a community that prides itself on its athletics.

  10. I think Ayers would be a great candidate if what you say is true. Bowers would be great as well. I just can't see Ensworth's golden child leaving where he is the head guy in control making great money to go with the 365 day grind of being a college head coach.

Let's face it. Lipscomb basketball has been irrelevant in the Nashville scene since Belmont has basically dominated over the past 5-8 years. Belmont has what 6 NCAA appearances?

They need publicity, and Maddux would do just that. If Lipscomb moves to the "safe choice" of hiring an assistant, they will continue to be in the same situation they are in. Ayers isn't going to come in and challenge Belmont for Nashville pub, or challenge in the ASun for that matter.

Ricky would win, recruit, and be relentless.

I think Drews recruiting ability is just a tad bit better dont you. I mean look at the results as well as the head to head match up between these two. Drew would be a great hire for that struggling program.

  11. Supposedly the clown over at Maplewood is on the chopping block after the past 2 weeks he has had. First he throws a district consolation game against Pearl Cohn because he doesn't want to play CPA. Then he goes and loses his next game at Goodpasture and waits for the referees outside their room to have words with them. If he is not fired that would show me something is very wrong over at Maplewood. That team was loaded with talent and it showed how little they were coached.

  12. How stupid is this last post? Since we are labeling people, I guess the "hillbillies" have really come out of the woodwork. The game dropped at Macon was by 6 where Macon shot 32 FT Goodpasture was given 4 Techs and the refs were so bad that Macons own coach apologized after the game? Lynn had 33 McPherson had 19. This isn't a popularity contest its about who is the best overall player. It will obviously come down to these two gentleman, but make no mistake, there is no one else anywhere in the district or Macon that you could throw out there either. In our move to single A, check the enrollment #'s and you might understand.

  13. The best players were at Davidson when he won all of those state titles as the HC? Ensworth was loaded with talent before he got there and couldnt win until he showed up. Do you know what you are talking about? I do know Dorris and I also know what really happened at DCA. There was no raw deal.

  14. Ive seen all of the posts about this but never seem to get clear answers. So this year we had a Freshman who came over from Sycamore. Played the whole football seadon and started in alot of games. Right after football is over, he bolts back to Sycamore and is playing on their varsity basketball team. Can anyone explain how this is possible? Before anyone brings up financial hardship, the family has money.

  15. Your right CougarPride3. How is the AA meetings going over there in Madison?

? This post is almost comical and sad at the same time. The new Headmaster over there has to be proud of such fine gentleman like yourself coaching his squad. I would think after the game you just had in Knoxville, you would be the one in need of a meeting.

  16. They lost thier best player and all the offense with the QB. I believe they also lost the best RB (fullback). I don't know if they have talent/speed in the skill positions. Could be a tough year. I see CPA, Pearl Cohn, Fairview, Smith Cty, Cheat. Cty as best in 3a midstate.

The Cougars should be ok, maybe not runner-up good but we will compete. Interesting to see how CPA will do without Wharton. He was such a huge part of their game. Hard to replace that.

  17. Goodpasture is a talented team with a rich tradition. They will be successful next year. However, I think there are a few teams that just have more talent than them that will prevent them from making it all the way to Cookeville such as Fairview, CPA, Pearl-Cohn and Milan. These teams will be loaded with talent and experience next year and would be major bumps in the road. However, I think they are probably a second or third round caliber team and I would definitely have them in my top 10!!

The loss of Wharton will be a big hit to CPA, I think they will still be good but that is a big loss. Pearl has been doing well lately but I have heard that some of the players might not be eligible next year. Not sure how true that is but still am counting them as a threat.

  18. This post has been pointless. Anyone remember Z. Mason a few years back? Standout football and basketball player gets into trouble, gets kicked out, ends up at Davidson Academy. Sound familiar? The next year he was back roaming the halls at CPA. Maddox hasnt built up that empire so he can kick his star players out of school. Both of the season were over, kick him out to look like you are making a stance. Wharton will be back at CPA next year.

I agree. I think CPA will do what it takes to get this young man back on campus next year.
