I also heard that Hackett went over 1,000 points last night in the first quarter? Can anyone confirm this? If so, that's a huge milestone to just be a sophomore and this season is still not over. Bright future for this young lady. Much respect.

LOL! You take a good player off a mediocre team & of course that team will miss them more than a good player on a good team. So that philosophy doesn't work, nor the philosophy of the best team having mvp. I think if you looked at starting a team & had your pick of any of these girls, the one that you would start your team with should be your vote for mvp. I would start my team with sissom!
Judging by your name I'm assuming you're from Cannon Co. So that being said, you need to take off the blinders.

I thought MVP was most valuable player, not most valuable team winning percentage. Callie means more to her team than any other player in the district. MVP should not be based ona team accomplishment. While I agree that a good players turns teams into contenders but the facts are that Callie is the best PLAYER in the district whether she plays on the best team or not.
You are exactly correct. This award should go to the person who is valuable to their team. Take Callie Hackett out of the lineup for SC and they would be at the bottom of the district with Dekalb. I also think this award shouldn't be based on only offense but both offense AND defense. Hackett is exceptional at both and she gives 110% to her team every time she steps on the floor. She gets my vote.

his brother
They actually are not brothers. They're cousins. Both are seniors.

haha that is why i said that cuz u said that. saying u may not lose in first round back ti back. but we dont lose in first round either. either i wrote that all out confusingly wrong. Or u read it wrong.
Haha probably a little of both. I don't know anything about Fairview but I do know that SC is usually a very tough opponent come post season and many times been the underdog and shocked a few people. I don't know what it is about "The Hole" but it usually works in SC's favor in a big way.

thats why i made my point haha. Fairview doesnt lose often in the first round. my post had nothing to do with ratings and rankings
Which you just reinforced my original point that SC/Maynord doesn't lose often in the first round either.

yes. but fairview went to third round last year and 2nd round in 09 and 10. Last two years losing to Milan who ended up at state. Fairview rarely loses first round matchup. heck 2002 fairview being major underdogs went into Huntingdon ranked 2nd in the state at that time and shut prime time and.show time down or as.u.may know him as Terrence Bell in the first round. Yall may have never lost 2 first rounders back to back. But u sure drew a hard card to make.sure.that doesnt happen .
Ratings and records don't mean a thing. Just ask last years SC squad. Went into 1st round undefeated and a #1 ranking and walked away with exactly that. Anything could happen. That's why you play the game.

If Smith doesn't turn the ball over they will make it to round 2. Not sure of the last time that Maynord went one and done back to back years? Never maybe? Good luck to both teams and hope it is injury free.

Having seen both teams play, I will have to go with DC in this one. These two teams are Smith Co.'s only 2 losses and that is something to be said. SC is always a tough team to beat and both of these teams have done it. In my opinion, I'm not sure LA's secondary can keep up with the many weapons of DC's offense. Yes McCoin and Hayes are very talented (not as good as Manning IMO), but I think DC's defense has what it takes to hold them off for the win. Good luck to both teams as well as in the playoffs.

Listened to this one on the radio and it sounded like the Owls D just dominated the line of scrimmage and shut White House's running game down. And it also sounded like the Owls offensive line made plenty of running lanes for whoever they put in the backfield. Radio said that WH offense only crossed the 50 yard line once on an SC failed 4th down conversion. Sounded very impressive on the radio. Not sure how WH ran on LA though

I don't usually post but I have had a chance to watch SC a couple of times this year and from what I saw, only 3 players touch the ball on offense. Now I don't know a whole lot about the X's and O's of football but I do know that you can't win games with only 3 players getting the ball. Too predictable IMO. Not sure if SC just doesn't have any other weapons or they just refuse to use them? Just an outsiders opinion. Take it or leave it.

Welcome to Coach T Boss. Ask any SC fan what the Owls must have to be a good team next year and 99.99 % would say that we must improve at the QB position. It appears that possibly this is no longer a concern.
Thank you for the warm welcome. So where did this new QB come from exactly? And what grade is he in?

1-7 anyone can win this district. I thought Cannon would be the clear winner but it seems as though Smith County has their number so to speak. Some good basketball ahead!
