Wait.....you said you're okay at passing and have a stud WR, and said DB shouldn't have any trouble, all in the same sentence. You haven't heard have you?

There's death, taxes, and Waco complaining about the secondary. My favorite was when you sarcastically told a Blackman fan that DB had the best secondary in the state, possibly the nation. That had me rolling

  2. The Govs wrapped up another 4-6 season with a 35-6 win over Lenoir City tonight. It was an ugly win. Our offense was dreadful and we scored 35 points. What does that say about Lenoir City? They really struggled... That is the nicest way to say it.

I think that shows that we are way better than we were when we played Heritage because Heritage beat Lenoir City by a point and we were really fortunate to beat Heritage the night we played them.

I feel pretty good about where the football program is. We just closed out back-to-back 4-win seasons, our best two-year stretch in over a decade. The best part is we had a young team this year.

Now here are some negative things that need to be corrected if we want to improve next year:

#1- Our o-line has to get better, period. We couldn't get a push and Clemmer had defensive players in his face a lot this year. If we can get o-line play like we had in 2019 again we could have a really good offense because we have good receivers who can make plays.

#2-  This goes along with #1. We need to get better at running the ball. Rushing for 30-something yards in a game isn't a winning recipe in 6A football, especially on nights like tonight where wet balls make it hard to be effective in the pass game.

#3-  We don't know whether we will be going north or south in the new region, but we know we will have to make a few long road trips either way. We have to find a way to play well on those long road trips because we have laid some major eggs on the road. We played our worst games of the season at Elizabethton and Cleveland. At some point we are going to have win on the road to get into the playoffs or advance in the playoffs. Playing on the road and riding a bus for two hours is a big disadvantage, but teams still find a way to win those games anyway.

Now let's go play basketball! I think the boys' team can be pretty good this year.

Football seniors, I appreciate your efforts and have enjoyed watching you guys play and improve over the last several years.

And congratulations to Trey Clemmer for becoming the Govs' leading passer in school history with over 6,000 yards.  We certainly hate to lose Clemmer, but fortunately his younger brother Matthew looks good too. I think we are in good hands at the quarterback position. Go Govs!

Try not to take things too serious on here 91 , I'm sorry to hear about your Mom Buddy , you and your family are in my Prayers .

I usually don't take it seriously. I normally laugh about it. The problem is when these delusions start getting out of hand. And I'm hearing and seeing a lot of smoke, so I want to cut this stuff out right now.

Right before the 2019 season started, they were so sure I was a poster they didn't like that they were referring to them by my real name.

I got a text from someone asking, "Why are they using your real name on CoachT?" I had to log on to see what was going on because I had barely logged on to CoachT that whole summer. But they were so certain it was me even though I was barely active on CoachT at that point in time! Just like they were certain I was Justin Ridge before I showed up to meet people at RJ's. I have also met people who are convinced Rebelwoman is a man. I told them I know differently, but they swear she is one of those Maryville guys' sock puppet accounts.

Do you notice a theme here? In case you don't, I will spell it out for you. People are usually wrong when they try to guess the identity of random posters on internet forums. This isn't rocket science.

Oh, I recently saw a post where Red Rebels told Thunderstruck that he remembers when a certain poster mentioned the song thunderstruck a few years ago. Like that is evidence that I am Thunderstruck! LMAO! Every guy born from the 80s to the mid 90s loves that song. Brilliant detective work! It absolutely has to be me because that person picked a screen name that references a song that literally every millennial guy loves.

All joking aside, I don't understand this weird belief that I'm every poster that picks a team to beat Maryville. It's weird. But I can tolerate it as long as people don't take it too far and start doxxing me because they believe I'm the poster that picked a team to upset Maryville or whatever. And again, why would I need to hide behind other accounts when I am comfortable enough to get with people on my regular account? I feel like I have tried to explain this over and over again. Smdh

91 it is time for you all to end your pettiness.

My pettiness? You crazy people repeatedly accuse me of being every screen name under the sun. Let's get the facts straight right now. I had no problem telling my piece to Mr. McGill under my screen name.

Listen here and listen good. I'm not these screen names you keep accusing me of being. I'm sick of it. I'm being very real with you under my screen name... Why would I have to use sock puppet accounts? You people aren't very bright at all.

Finally, I am a very busy person. I'm a grad student. I have to deal with almost 200 undergrad students during the week, on top of my own coursework. I don't have time to deal with the nonsense. It's funny to me that I get accused of so much when I don't even visit this forum nearly as much as I used to.  Also, we just found out my mom has cancer. So needless to say I dont give a flying #### about the T and all the petty drama on here. I have said it before and I will say it again. Please grow up.

Tim Hammontree leaves Heritage to be the Vols next HC

Lol. Wouldn't surprise me if the UT administration pulled something like that. I mean they gave Pruitt a big extension for doing nothing. We are stuck with him smdh.

Christian was hand picked by Clark . The search committee was all for show. They had some top notch coaches apply for that job. A few from out of state as well as Witten. They never seriously considered anyone else. I've always called it the good ole boys club. I really thought Debusk would break all that up but it ain't gonna happen. Now being in the good ole boys club ain't necessarily a bad thing if you can coach. They have a few good coaches that you could say are in the good ole boys club.  I think Christian could make a good head coach but when you're hiring people for your staff just because their a buddy first and maybe not a good coach then you get results like we seen tonight. Science Hill has the exact same problem. Thats why neither will ever be anything more than they are today. Kings of the Tri-Cities.

Didn't they say they were doing a national search?

I really thought WB was gonna have a pretty good year after we played them ... have they lost some players or something ?

No. Apparently, something goes wrong on those bus rides because we haven't even showed up on the two long road trips we've been on. We played some stinkers at Cleveland and Elizabethton.

I guess I'm just curious why any of the big recruiting schools over there haven't pulled this kid in. Not sure what the problem is at Karns but for some reason it's the graveyard for a lot of coaches from far back as I can remember. Maybe their like Heritage and William Blount over here in Blount County, always a black cloud hangs over those two football programs and have from the very start. If Loudon County opened the gates and let Blount County Kids in Greenback High school they would have to cancel William Blounts Football Program because 60% of the kids would leave there in a flat second knowing they aren't being held against their will to go there. WB gets real upset when one of theirs gets across that Loudon County Line someway or somehow. One got across this summer and I thought WB was going to call in the FBI they were so upset about it.

    Barney,

You are a clown. You constantly mention WB and Heritage like we are on the same level. Heritage has had many winless seasons and WB has never had a winless season. Oh, and we have dominated them for over two decades. It isn't even close. We have also dominated other "bad" local schools like Karns and Campbell County.

Greenback has scored two touchdowns this season and the Govs are in position to make the playoffs for the second year in a row and finish 5-5 for the first time in over a decade. Get out of here with your nonsense.

According to stats in the morning paper BC had 21 first downs to WB's 7....BC had 503 total yards to WB 169.....I was not at game and did not see the game but how in the heck was the final score only a 10 point margin.  Did your 3 turnovers lead to 3 td's for WB?

We had short fields because we were getting good returns on every kickoff. We started off inside the 50 multiple times. That obviously affected our yardage. We also had a few turnovers that helped Bradley build a lead.

Good to see that Boone fans are not the only ones into moral victories

No sir, we just haven't been remotely competitive with Bradley since we started playing them again five years ago and we had a chance to win the game last night. That is progress.  And we have a young team too. Believe me, our guys were upset to lose last night. I was too, but as a guy who has been watching WB for well over a decade I have more perspective. We are making progress as a program.

You normally get a lot of penalties in that area. It's right up there with Mcminn and rhea. Floyd has actually done a tremendous job on the discipline part this year. Very few flags up until tonight. Home or away.

Bradley made it easy to throw flags.  On the interception one of your big linemen came flying in late out of bounds and dove on our receiver and got flagged. I heard the Bradley fans crying about that, but any official is going to throw a flag on that; at least they should. Both teams made mistakes. We gave away two fumbles and failed to execute on the  onside kicks. If we had recovered the last one we would have probably won the game. And we had a really good opportunity to recover it too.
