The Bulldogs are still a very young team starting 8 sophomores and 1 freshmen on offense, and 6 sophomores 2 freshmen or defense.

Bulldogs defense has looked really good. Offense has looked subpar can not get the ball in their playmakers hands in spots to make plays. Have to get it figured out this week if the Bulldogs want to contend for a playoff spot.

If the Bulldogs limit their turnovers they win this one. They turned the ball over 3 times Friday night inside MJCS 10 yard line. Very young team that will improve every week.

Coach Denton told the team today Friday is his last day. He will be taking a job at Marshall Co. as an assistant . Who will be the Bulldogs next coach?

My understanding his wife is a teacher at MCHS that might have some baring on his departure to MCHS.

My understanding he is the one wanting to leave not being forced out. Which does not make since with the talent he has coming.

I did not start this rumor. I have heard it for multiple sources.

I am not saying Union City is in the wrong. I am saying the T$$AA is. A team with over twice the enrollment of the other team in 1A should not be in that class. The gap between the top and bottom is to wide in 1A take a look at how it is done in Alabama.

I just looked at the enrollment numbers on T$$AA and see that Coalfield enrollment is 182 and Union City is 397. This is what is wrong with class 1A football these two teams should not be in the same classification. I will be pulling for Coalfield a true 1A team.

Depth and injuries were an issue for the Dogs this year. They have some very talented players that will be Freshman and Sophomores.Do not know what they will have in the upper classes to help them.
