For Rang, it is.
The logical move for Maryville, when you've been as dominant as they've been for as long as they have been is to promote from within. That's what great programs at the top of their game do.
Bringing in an outsider, even a successful outsider, has a lot more risk of upsetting a good thing and fixing what's not broken.
Coach Rang would be a great choice.

I'm sure this will rub some people the wrong way, but in my opinion, as long as Gaddis is the head coach, I don't think OR will make it to the championship game.
I think Gaddis is a great coach, don't get me wrong....but something happens around playoff time like him changing up play calling or not using the playmakers enough. I could be wrong, but that's just my opinion.

East by 21. Hookfin always chokes in the playoffs.

Hey, we are happy to be here! No one expected us to be any good this year since we lost so many good players last year, but we are back. We are receiver by committee with Tim Taylor at RB. We try to be balanced as always. We have to stop their potent rushing attack and do not give up any cheap plays in passing game. Should be a good one. We have nothing to lose. Like I said, nobody expected us to really be in this position at the beginning of the year. The pressure is on everyone else,
Bologna! East has been loaded for several years now! I for one expect that you should win it all!!

Catching fades in the corner of the endzones might be interesting!!
-
The Hoggs and the Clintons go way back.
-
Definately an upgrade!

If you pay, they will come. I think we just took a huge step up!!!!!

I am not associated with Trenton Peabody football. However, I hope the best for them with there coaching search. But time is running out. I would expect there will be a coach at the helm in Trenton, but its not. So its time to just pick a coach and hope for the best. But again, time is running out might half to pick an assisstant, lick your chops and hope for the best.
We disagree. The right hire is more important than the fast hire. I would prefer to hire the best instead of "hope" for the best. I like many of you all have no real say in the decision making process but feel our adminstration will make a good decision.

Its true. Vowell rejected the deal that includs a big paycheck.
Offer it to another good coach one will eventually take it. Call Coady, Comer or Swenson or another good coach. All they can do is say no.
-
Go ahead and county Hookfin off of your list. He would defitnely stay at Liberty, you talking about that building a powerhouse program with consecutive playoffs appearances and is one game shy away from being at Cookville. With the open enrollment of all the high schools, Liberty will be a winner, therefore kids would want to play football for a semi-finalist team. Liberty is a team that will win with Speed, that is how they are going to have to win, by using their speed. I will admit, Peabody does not have the athletics that Liberty has.
What about Dan Bland, Jim Glover, or Shane Jacobs as an possibility for the head-coaching job.
Honestly none of those names really inspire me. I mentioned Coady because I thought he was in the mix last time, I could be wrong. I mentioned Comer because he is mentioned for every moderately high profile job in west TN, probably just uses them to milk the cow in McKenzie, but you never know. I mentioned Hookfin because i saw you posting and figured I could get you going. I did not really expect he would be interested unless the price were right. I want to go out and steal a good coach from a good program. We should be good to great every year and if we pay them and the assistants they will come. We have plenty of athletes to win year in year out.
-
Vowell is out of the hunt at Peabody, he told the team early this morning. He also rejected a big paycheck by not heading to Trenton. And i agree, North Side will be the big loser, and Liberty will be the winner in the open enrollment.
We need to go after Coady, Hookfin or Comer. If we are paying right we can pull another good coach.
-
I am not concerned (hope I am right). I hope we will get the type of coach that would not get on here self promoting themselves for the job.
-
We should go after Vowell or Coady. Just my opinion.
-
Im glad your confident! We gotta take care of business in our quad! But I hope you do get to travel to the Ville!
We do too, it would be a massive improvement regardless of the result. I do not envy you your two weeks off.
-
Lets concentrate on this year before we talk about next year. We have a great opportunity right now. I should not have brought it up. Roll Tide!
-
I have said that I did not think 2A was very strong this year. However the next four years 2A will be very strong which is not a bad thing.
-
We got the toughest quad. I still feel we can get to the semis against Adamsville. We should beat Humboldt, then Westwood and Dresden though they are all pretty good. If we are healthy when we get there we will win against Adamsville.
If we are going to make a great run this will probably be the best year to do it. 2A the next four years will be considerably better come playoff time. All I can say is WOW.
-
Enrollment has also dropped from 1288 to 934 which also hurt.
-
We will finish the regular season 7-3. Stay healthy and roll in the playoffs. Roll tide!!!
-
How about a top two by class in NO PARTICULAR ORDER. Simply top two.
1A
Huntingdon and Union City
2A
Dresden and Peabody
3A
Milan and South Gibson
4A
Covington and Lexington
5A
Henry County and Northside
6A
LOL
-
This ole Milan boy wouldn't put HC near the top, they would be at the top.
Secondly HC would beat the brakes off of North Side or South Gibson,
Milan has been better but you can take this to the bank, if we meet SG
In the playoffs, which I hope we do, it will be just like last years 52-7 drumming.
Oh yea, I almost forgot Milan would be second on the list.
I believe at the end of the 2012 campaign South Gibson will be 2-0 against Milan.

Peabody.....LARGE!
I think we may have found our grove on the defensive side of the ball. The kids seem to be more comfortable with the 3-4 each week.
The offense sputters at times. But we should be able to run the ball this week.
I was wrong last week. We have to take care of the ball better. I expect you are right, but I will let you be the one to say it. I will simply say I expect us to win. Get and stay healthy. Roll Tide Roll!!!!

Peabody by as much as we want to and remember I said it first. We will win the district. We will play in round three.
