  1. 67-61 HHS!!!!

Now Meigs fans want to fight....We can do that!

A LOT of no calls and bad calls BOTH ways

No need in acting like that

I won't try to speak for ALL Meigs fans, just the ones I watched after the district and region finals. As they announced the all tourney teams, they clapped for every opponent's players except GCA. Even after beating GCA in the district champ! So, not surprised at all to hear you ran into some classless ones. I will admit, it didn't bother much either time, but it was certainly less after the regional. Congrats on the win, glad you sent them packing.

  2. On new phones there is a thing called internet where you can post online through your phone. It's a really cool feature. Also on new phones there is a feature called autocorrect. (Clearly you're too old to know these things which is why I decided to enlighten you, you're welcome). Combine that while celebrating with the Webb Spartan football team and it's easy to overlook such a small mistake. I hope you can forgive my error and I greatly appreciate you correcting me. I hope you're not in a bad mood because of the loss I guaranteed earlier this week.

You know how you know when you've lost a debate? When you start talking about grammar on coach t. Hahaha. Even more funny is my Webb education is better then whatever scrub school you went to.

The bottom line is Webb won just like I said they would. The thing about great programs is that even when they are down, they still can beat average programs with coaching and the prestige the school carries with it.

I'd be surprised if Webb won State this year but look for them to be back on track in 2016. Also, Webb returns essentially everyone next year so it could get ugly in 2016 against Grace.

Oh, I was just having a little fun. Seeing how a little jab would affect an elitist, pompous incredibly talented game picker with a Webb education. Turns out it showed you're more petty than the king of racing himself, #43. I would never attempt to enter a debate with someone as esteemed as you with only my scrub education to arm myself with. Hmmm, just ended a sentence with a preposition, darn public school, scrub education. Please forgive me, Richard. Didn't mean #43 that time.
  3. Not the Webb Spartans we are a custom to seeing. Lots of penalties. Poor execution in the red zone. Webb showed our youth as we start over 12 freshman and sophomores. However the young spartans have grit. I guess Grace won't lose again after this week. Graces coach just got his weeks wrong on that prediction..that's all. Webb wins like I said. Young or not Webb was the better team tonight and the better program historically. Good luck to the Rams the rest of the season.

You are a custom what? I think you mean you are accustomed to...if you are a kid, tell your parents I'm sorry I picked on their kid. Also tell them to make you go to class more often. If you're an adult, too late, you should have gone to class more often

  4. I'm on the field during practice at Boyd Buchanan all the time. I assure you that it means absolutely nothing. Coaches don't listen to dads no matter how much we help with things.

I can't decide if you're a dad of a kid not getting play time, a kid not getting play time, or a rival trying to cause problems. One thing I do know is you're a Richard.

I LOVE that!  hope you don't mind if I steal that quote!

  5. No. 1 really happened though the tweets have now been deleted from the young man's page.

No. 3--if the person with the amplification device is a young man, he's probably older than 19 by now because it's been happening since at least 2011 when the CAK player singled out was a future UT player on CAK's team.

I didn't hear the CAk fans yelling at your player but if they did, that was inappropriate, and if I had heard it, I would have said so to the offending parties.  I will say, if it was the tweeter they were yelling at, that wouldn't surprise me because several CAK fans were aware of what the young man had done and some of them might not have done a good job controlling their tempers.  No excuses, just trying to make sure you're aware of the background.

No. 3A--Never claimed to be perfect and CERTAINLY wouldn't characterize CAK or its football program as perfect, but there's not room on this board for all the things I would do differently if they put me in charge.  And personally I'm always in the need of God's grace and mercy.

I'll take your word for it that we have a kid with a bull horn (maybe it hasn't been the same kid over the last 6 years? just a thought), you'll have to decide if you take my word for it about your fan, who I'm guessing is also in that 15-19 year old brain category.   I will give you this, of all the teams that we've played, CAK coaches/players/fans have been by far the most respectful I've seen.  some of the garbage I've heard from other teams is unbelievable, but never heard anything too bad from CAK.   I'm certainly not for calling out individual kids on here, but if those tweets really occurred, he should be called out and properly dealt with.

  6. You can choose to mis-characterize my comments. But I think I was pretty clear that:

    1. There is a difference when a kid, from either school, makes a mistake, vs when the adults and / or LEADERSHIP makes a deliberate effort to skirt the rules, and has to be punished by the TSSAA.

    2. Our kids aren't perfect, but they represent the program extremely well. We are not alone in this. Many other programs do the same. But not all.

    3. The CAK coach and administration hold themselves to a high standard of conduct in how they run the program. That is a good example for the kids that are watching them, and is in contrast to an administration or coach(es) who sets an example of getting by with whatever you can.

    4. CAK has a reputation for running a clean program, and the actions of one particular kid on one particular night are not going to change the reputation of that program, particularly when the kid is disciplined afterward. By contrast, the other school which I referred to has a reputation for dirty play and conduct that I have read on these boards (mostly from parties other than CAK posters). And that may in large part be because of the example being set at the adult level.

Hopefully that is clear enough for you now.

oh it's clear; Crystal clear - you get your info about "another private school in Knoxville" from posts on a CoachT board.  That's a GREAT source to be basing opinions on, what other people say.  These other people by the way may have an axe to grind or, wait for it...may not necessarily have all the facts themselves because they based their opinions on something someone else said, and so on and so on.  The mistake you mention happened SEVEN YEARS AGO.  Do you even know the details of that mistake?  I venture to say no because I'm pretty sure no one on CoachT ever posted the details.

  7. We are all God's children, but, as imperfect humans, we are all subject to giving "our" team the benefit of the doubt in matters such as this.  I don't think GoVols is being hypocritical, just realistic.  I'll make only three observations:

    1.  Unless I missed it, nothing has been said on here about the cruel and insensitive tweets sent by a GCA player (whom I will not ID in a public post) to Austin Pope in the days leading up to the game, making references to the fact that he had lost his father to cancer last summer and, unlike the GCA player, would not be able to celebrate with his "pop" after the game.  Now, that does not excuse Pope's action Friday night for which he is being punished.  But it provides an understandable context to it.  He was already amped up before the game, in a way some 18-year-olds who lost a parent in the past year might have difficulty controlling.

    2.  In addition to the coach on the sidelines because his wife had a press pass incident GoVols mentioned, I have been exposed to the GCA football program for about 6 years now and have watched their on-field behavior during that time.  I have also worked the chain gang on multiple occasions that led to me being able to witness with my own eyes and ears some of the things some of the GCA coaches said to (1) their own players, and (2) opposing players.  Not something to be proud of.

    3.  GCA is the only HS I've ever been to for a football game, and I've been to a LOT of places, where there is repeatedly someone in the GCA crowd with a bull horn or other amplification device, who spends a good portion of the game calling out the numbers of specific opposing players and yelling stuff at them during the game.  "Hey number 3, what's your name?!  What you doing out there, number 3?...HEY! number 3! HEY!"  I guess it doesn't bother me too much if a heckler pays $100 for a ticket to an NBA game so he can ride Lebron James' butt the whole game.  But these are high school boys, 15 to 19 years old, playing a school sport.  It bothers me when the host team's fan singles out individual players for ridicule and harassment during the game.

As Forest Gump says, that's all I'm gonna say about that...on here.  Want more details post a reply with your e-mail address and I'll be glad to name names.

    1.  If this really happened, it's inexcusable.

    2.  Sorry we're (GCA) not perfect.

    3.  I'm sure the person with the bull horn is also a 15-19 year old with a 15-19 year old brain.  oh, and by the way, I heard YOUR fans yelling at one of our players Friday night, and they were yelling something worse than "what's your name?"

3A.  Sorry you're (CAK) not perfect either.

  8. I have watched the CAK program for a long time. By in large, the kids are great and represent the program very, very, very well. I have no inside information on the details of this situation, but I do know that in the past, CRB doesn't tolerate when a player does not uphold the standards of the program. There was obviously some basis for the suspension, and I applaud CRB maintaining discipline with his team. Having said that, even if one individual player took an action that required discipline, CAK will NEVER have the reputation of dirty play that another private school in Knoxville has. If a kid gets out of line and the Warrior coaching staff finds out about it, it will be dealt with. Always has, always will. CAK has an outstanding reputation for running a clean program, something that is not the case with another private school in Knoxville, as has been demonstrated here. Some programs make an effort to uphold high standards themselves, while some others have to get caught and disciplined by the TSSAA, and it wasn't a 17 year old kid who got out of hand, it was the adult leadership.

Disclaimer: I speak for myself. I have no affiliation with CAK. Even my kids are long since graduated. I am simply a long time fan of the program, and the way it is run.

I won't go into detail, I'll only say that you are correct that an authority figure from another Private school in Knoxville was escorted out of the stadium.

I would never give a pass for poor sportsmanship by one of our players. It is very rare that I've seen anything but excellent sportsmanship by CAK kids, but when there has been an exception, I have seen discipline handed out. This is a sharp contrast from instances where the adults or even the LEADERSHIP engages in breaking the rules or cheating and having to be disciplined by the TSSAA. Sometimes a kid that comes to a Christian school is there because the parents want to put them in an environment that they feel will help their child grow personally as an individual. And sometimes, even a kid who has no tendency for a problem can make a mistake. Our kids are not perfect. But I am very very proud of the way they conduct themselves 99.9% of the time, and even more proud that our leadership and coaching staff LIVEs a strong example that, while we all want to win, there are things more important in guiding these young men than just W's and L's.

Let me make sure I understand:  if one of your players messes up, it's because they're not perfect 100% of the time but only 99.9% of the time.  But in the case of this "other private school in Knoxville"; if they mess up, for some reason they should be held to a different standard?

As has been demonstrated here - not sure what you mean by that?  The only thing demonstrated here is that you're biased toward your school.  Nothing wrong with that, we all are.  Just don't get on here and condemn others because they don't live up to standards that you've set for everyone else but yourself.

  9. That's because he rid his self of a virus called Daddy Ball which has moved on to infect another school and bring it down. Kudos for Coach Rosser.

you were expressing regret on the other thread about your Daddy Ball quote, now you're here mentioning it again?  no kudos for you...

  10. This kinda thing should not be allowed by the TSSAA, just a new way of cheating the system. Doubt it will turn out good for Grace. When you do underhanded things, it usually comes back to bite you in the rear end.

you've had a kid playing for you the last few years that I'm pretty sure didn't go to Hampton Elementary or Middle.   You need a new hobby, your Grace bashing doesn't seem to be working for you.

  11. Never said a word about running up the score but you've sure been guilty of that in the past. The only problem I have with Grace is playing with kids from all over and thinking us small rural schools are beneath you. Wish you cats could see what everyone else does. You have huge advantages and think you are doing something special.

Your belief that we think small rural schools are beneath us is completely unfounded and another of your ridiculous statements. This inferior chip on your shoulder is your burden and you don't carry it well. You are very good at having delusional opinions and trying to express them as facts. I don't know a single person at our school who would think small rural schools are beneath us. A ver y foolish statement. Yours, not mine...

  12. Greenback played William Blount in the 2008 Jamboree 1st against 1st team and we scored 3 quick TDs to WBs none GB had the ball on the 2 took a knee just didnt see the need to embarrass them anymore. No dog in the fight.Just saying.(cant believe i just said that)LOL.

Every TD was over 35 yards. Im not saying we would have kneeled one from the 2, just didn't get the chance.

  13. We see the same stuff Toyotaman but it all started with drawing in kids from other schools, built nice facilities, started winning and now more and more kids want to play for Grace. Its really not that hard if you live in the right area and have plenty of money. Its nothing like small public do and they should feel ashamed to even act like its fair. Its untetling at the deception and downright cheating thats went on there. The whole deal makes me sick. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing but respect for the hard working kids but this is a very poor representation of Christian. I've seen more Christian like people in Prison.

You say that this bothers you so much that it makes you sick? Are you serious? I'm sorry, but I find that a little sad

This one. Tell me one person or example you've personally seen. I'll give you one, you're an.....no, I won't fuel your incepid fire.

*insipid...it was driving me crazy, can't stand misspelled words...

  15. And for you Pujo, b4 you go saying the Christians shouldn't be running up the score; we threw one deep ball for a td, 2 were runs up the middle, and 2 were short passes, a middle screen and a hitch. Would you prefer us kneel the ball 4 times? Then you would call us un-Christian for demeaning the other team. cant win with you. Your earlier post was tasteless even for you, thought you had turned a new leaf, expected too much I guess.

  16. I was invited to this game since I don't ever attend the Jamboree in Blount County because it is usually the first team in for four plays and out because the coaches don't want to risk injury. I didn't realize the games were two quarters instead of one but Grace does have a good team from what I see but the other team wasn't even close to or near the same level. It almost reminded me of a typical Maryville game because I've seen them put up five and six touchdowns in a quarter I can't count. I think they have some good linemen from what I see for a team in 2-A. A lot of things are so different from watching a 2-A game that I'm not used to. It's hard to imagine a player playing both ways but I understand why but it was like a blast from the past to see it. I also was surprised that the QB came to the sidelines for each play and the team goes for two and not kick an extra point. Not fussing but it seemed so different but I had a great time watching and glad I went.  I am a Maryville fan first but I can say one thing about GCA that both teams have in common and that is good kids and smart kids. Being smart will win you so many games in the end and I do think they will be there in Cookeville in December from what I see.

Starters played 1st Qtr, scored 5 times, kicked 5 extra pts. Didn't go for 2 at all, not sure where that came from? Claiborne struggled on offense, don't think they crossed midfield and maybe had 2 first downs.

  17. :roflolk: Of course..... :thumb: play against it with what you got.  Don't borrow players from Central, Karns, Clinton, West, AC, etc. etc. etc.

    Kaz

p.s.  and then play the small schools.....great strategy for success.  lol

Which small schools are you referring to? Jeff County? CAK? Webb? Campbell County? You playing anybody remotely of that caliber?
