  1. Gill can't hold Wanamaker's jock strap much lees Turners or any of our lineman. He might be good in your district but not in ours. Our senior leadership will be the diffference(as long as our coaches don't screw it up with bad calls).

Your in the worst district in 6A. I was very impressed with Gill watching him play last year, i'd be happy to have him on Maryville's roster. Especially this year.

  2. Good luck in your district this year! i saw some interesting games last year out of it. I don't know enough to make a prediction but, based off everything i have seen or gathered from here. Everyone better hope they have the secondary to stop the York kid from Upperman, Good enough front 7 to stop Manning from Smith and a good enough offensive line to stop Gill from Dekalb.

  3. I watched a lot of teams play last year, including the DeKalb vs Smith. It was a long drive but i did enjoy the game. I agree with TP on Gill, out of everyone I've seen play i think him and Braylon Young from Alcoa will be the best defensive lineman in 3A and 4A. They both could start in 6A and probably dominate. I know lot of people talk about Smith's running back but he didn't do a whole lot against the DeKalb, but thats what happens when your carrying your team on your back. I don't know to much about the far west because the drive would be ridiculous from knoxville. Its everyone's opinion here don't be afraid to let yours be known.

  4. I agree with annoyed, it's not that the coaches but the players will see it. You bunch of ignorant fans can't see this. It's not for game plan but for injuries. A player can get on here and see ok this guy is hurt so I'm going to twist his ankle, I'm going to make sure every time I go against him I attack his shoulder. I picked DeKalb to win it this year but you bunch of cocky fans have disgusted me. None of you were like this a year or 2 years ago. Now you guys have a great team it's all went to your heads.

  5. Unless you are playing in this game, your past conquest means squat! Anyone that thinks he has pegged a players skill by watching one play of one game obviously is an intelligent man! Ive watched more than one play between these to teams. LA is better at every position & I would put Brock passing to winningham & hollars up against Phillips, mollander, sonni anyday! But we got the offensive line & Creed that hasn't been stopped yet. Like I said earlier, pick your poison! (boom, how did you miss your calling as a scout? You could save alot of time by watching one play per game. Sign em up!)

you can always prove me wrong this Friday if you think that way. He cocks his head back and chucks it with all he has. His wide receivers run underneath the ball and make him look great. He is an unbelievable playmaker not so much a quarterback, but all you see is me downing him and not my praise. You can't give credit where credit is do, That's why I dismiss everything you say.

On another note, MY team is ranked 2nd in 6A. Anything else?

  6. I have seen a lot of great quarterbacks in my life, I have to say Livingston doesn't have a QB and a RB. It's like they have 2 RBs, the reason brock has so many yards is because he just chucks it down the field against bad secondaries and his WRs make him look great. I've only seen one game of course and he only threw one deep ball and that's all it took for me to see what kind of QB he is. Don't get me wrong he is a great runner, but when it comes to passing its more of a Chuck and Pray.

  7. Well I made my way out to watch this one because there wasn't any better games in quad 1, DC played great and was very generous to Sequoyah, I thought it was a little ridiculous that your starters were in against DCs 2 and 3s; bombing the ball trying to score and finally did, you could tell #18 and #1 weren't full health, who knows how bad the game would have been, #3 and #73 destroyed the offensive line most of the night. Linebackers played good, I think the secondary will have to pick it up a little, but I think Dekalb is back. Ill probably have to catch Fulton and Greeneville next week. Good luck to everybody and safe travels.

  9. I think he has a chance in college. If he gets a little quicker Div I maybe.... What do you think Boom?

I think that he has a VERY good chance. Him and Braylon Young from Alcoa are Jrs. They could be the best two DT in the state next year. I would probably put him in the top 10 range this year. Me watching him in the Smith game impressed me a lot, all of their O-Line looked over 300 pounds and he had a GREAT game. He didn't have as good of a game against Livingston but he still made quite a few plays when everybody was getting beat.
  10. Well I just waisted a 4 hour drive, this wasn't the DeKalb team I thought they were. I put so much faith in them. After seeing this LA will probably pull off quad 1 and meet up with East Hamilton, I say East wins that then wins state. Good luck to both. LA shut down #3 all night, always ran the other way. #73 had quite a few stops up the middle even though being double teamed. Looked like the linebackers were no where to be seen. I was blown away with LA's #8 and #2 they are great ball players. I feel that DC got out coached too. Good Luck to both on the rest of the year!

  11. trezevant is the best team out of memphis...prolly the best team out of the traditional west

once again...who has DeKalb beaten that makes them a top team...i see them as kinda like the spring hill team at the basketball championships this past spring...impressive record...no stuffing

fsunoles...who have u seen play other than covington...u keep saying so and so cant beat covington and this and that...but how do u know this...

I'm not going by their record I'm going by how they play, they are FAST. Only team faster would probably be Fulton, they have a hard time with discipline though. DeKalb Has a shut down D with a High Octane offense. If a team beat DeKalb I say the chances would be better with East Hamilton because they have a power run offense that eats clock and keeps it out of the hands of DeKalbs Offense.
  12. Covington/Lexington vs. Giles/East. Ham/DeKalb

Ive seen all the top teams in 4A play besides you west quad 4 bunch, Fulton is just too undisciplined to do it this year in my eyes. I say Greeneville beats them because of it, but they will loose in the semis just because they are to down and their fans are just to cocky for my tastes, they will be eating lots of crow thumb[1].gif

  13. These are aggregate stats from games played against mutual opponents (Smith County, Upperman, White County, Cannon, and York).

Points For: DC 226 LA 209

Points Against: DC 46 LA 80

NET POINT Differential: DC 180 LA 129

Rushing Yards: DC 1,021 LA 1,156

Rushing Yards Against: DC 395 LA 770

Passing Yards: DC 1,247 LA 809

Passing Yards Against: DC 361 LA 426

NET YARD ADV: DC 1,512 LA 769

Based upon this year's stats it looks like LA has a legitimate claim their offensive line is good based upon rushing stats. How do you figure your D-line is better considering you have given up more rushing yards, more passing yards and more points to like opponents?

I don't think it is fair to compare individual players as each performs a role and may be called to do something different for his team. Just because Phillips has thrown for more yards and run for approximately the same as McCoin does not mean he is better. Just because Puckett has more sacks, tackles for a loss and total tackles etc than Linder does not mean he is better. It also does not mean either are worse! It is exciting to see two fan bases so supportive and in some cases on both sides blindly enthusiastic.

What is the best restaurant near LA? How late are they open? I personally intend to eat a good meal post game regardless of outcome. Glad to read today that we will be in different quads for playoffs allowing both of us to make a run. Sad to see our new quad is probably the strongest of the four.

I give post of the year to this man, everyone quit being so arrogant about your players. I've seen a lot of football in my days all across the state. It is always the same thing that decides who wins, it's who shows up and wants it more. Bottom line there is a lot of great players on both teams but you all are looking at the small picture.
