I don’t know much about Houston other than they’re 9-1 having only lost to the region champ. Would lead one to believe they’re pretty good, but as bad as some claim Hickman is, Houston only beat them by 7? Then again Waverly only beat Houston by 7.  Sounds kinda Jekyl and Hydish, but maybe there were other factors that made those games so close. Eagleville’s 3 losses this year have been against teams who won it in the trenches. Our slightly undersized line has a lot of heart and desire, but sometimes its just not enough. What size can we expect from Houston?

We are probably about the same size, we just got a little speed. Probably what has taken us thus far. I can see this game being a dogfight!

They did win 7 games two years in a row.  They did beat us 6 years ago.  Seriously, there is a lot to be excited about.

What the overall record of this match-up? I'm sure it favors Waverly heavily, but i'm just curious. We have always considered you guys a respectable rival.

Yes I don’t like the thought of 3A at all. I think I heard we are one of the highest enrollments for AA but would be the lowest at AAA

We are kinda in the same boat as you guys there, except we are one of the biggest A but lowest AA. I wish we where still 1A, we can compete better in that division with our low numbers. Our schools lucky to have the 400+ Students we got.

And yet your still living in that small Erin bubble! Like I said beat someone with a good track record for the season then you might be able to talk about something worth listening too.

We don't have to worry abt your track record.

You're still living in the past. Who have you beat this year worth talking abt? Like I said y'all sure do talk a lot of BS to lose to mcewen!

Our region is down, and it has nothing to do with us not being the top dog. As trader mention, in the past few years there's always been at least two teams in this region that other teams feared! Last year my son spoke with one of the players from Peabody and he stated that we were the only team they feared last year before we played the game! Of course they pulled off the win, but they were playing scared most of the game, especially after we went in with the lead at the half. Nobody fears Houston county! I'm not disrespecting you all and what you have accomplished thus far. You are currently the lone wolf in the top dog position, but we haven't played yet, and to become the top dog, you have to beat the former top dog. The only reason you guys are popping up in top ten list right now is because you are still undefeated, but IF Waverly could pull off the win, and I know that's a big IF, especially how up and down we have been this season,  you would go right back to obscurity, and everyone will say, they were who we thought they were.

We sure don't FEAR you guys this year. Y'all talk a bunch of BS to lose to Mcewen. Lol

Coach Chanz Swartz, his coaching staff, and the Rebels football team are having a tremendous year and I for one couldn't be happier for those guys.  Stewart County will always be near and dear to me and the four years I was there as a teacher, football coach, and baseball coach were truly a blessing.  It took a couple of years and not everyone agreed with the process but at the end of the day the product definitely speaks for itself.  The senior, junior, and sophomore classes on the Rebels football team were those same groups that really won big and did specials things at the middle school in 2015, 2016, and 2017.  Now they are grown up and that momentum has carried over to the high school ranks.  The 2019 football season is the first winning season in football for Stewart County since 2009.  It will be the first TSSAA State Playoff appearance since 2010.  When I saw this group at the MCHS 7vs7 back in July I just had a feeling that it was Stewart County's time to do something special on the field.  I believe I'll make the trip to west TN on 10/18 and watch them play Camden in two weeks (when I have a Friday night to be a fan).

Hope you boys keep it up! Will make for a good game in 3 weeks across the Cumberland.

I’m still not convinced. Just keeping it real. In two weeks I can give a better assessment on HC. Some folks from Waverly are talking about going and watching them play West Carroll.

6-0 not convincing enough for you? I promise you we got that possible Regional Championship circled in two weeks.

I wasn't too surprised when Houston Co. came out and had a good drive and took a 6-0 lead. I thought they would hang with RHS in the first half and RHS would pull away in the second half. Didn't happen. Down 13-3,  Riverside got the ball first in the 2nd half and went 3 and out. HC increasingly took control in the 3rd qtr. and the RHS offense never could seem to get on track. It was 20 to 10 deep in the 4th and Houston Co. scored 7 with 43 seconds to go. I think they should have taken a knee, but I know they have had football frustration over there for forty years and don't really blame them for tacking one one. I think the Waverly-Houston Co. game will be for the region championship and I would take the Irish at this point. Waverly has been whipping up on them for years and this is going to be Houston Counties' chance. Houston Co. is the fastest team I have seen in 2A in a long time. They don't pass much but they run sharp routes and the qb can fling it. My hat's off to the Irish for beating my favorite team fair and square. I wish them the best from here on into the playoffs. Trader Two said it best the other day when he said this is not your ordinary Irish team. Forward men...........looks like we will have to hit the road in the first round of the playoffs this year.

I thought it was funny that you all put 40-0 on that scoreboard before that game.

We travel to Hickman County. To be honest, I just hope that we can get through the game without losing anyone else, and get some work in for the freshmen. The only games that will have impact on the order of finish will be Riverside/Houston Co./Waverly playing each other.

I agree. If not Waverly, then maybe Mcewen/Hickman Co steps up.
