OC lost to riverside a new opponent and at their field on week 0. Their other 3 loses came from quality opponents,  a very much improved Dyer Co. State ranked #2 Crockett County and probably the next 4A state champs and Dresden the reigning 2A state champs.so yes I will stick with my prediction of OC winning by a touchdown or two.

Of wins this game by a touchdown maybe 2.

The Rebels will be coming back from an embarrassing loss over at state ranked #2 Crockett County. I predict the Rebels will be back in form and ready to tame the lions.

OCParent must be female. Only a woman talks like that. It's football. It's a tough and violent game played by men. I respect any young man who takes on the challlenge of playing High Scool football. Along with that comes the smack talk from opposing teams and opposing fans. Most of this is done in fun. Men like to take shots at each other and most of us laugh it off and move on. CoachT is not a place for the sensitive. If you dont like what's said on here dont sign in. I know players get on here and read this stuff. If they dont like what's being said, then do something to turn it around. Last season all the smack was coming from OC. Now it's time to suck it up and recieve some of what OC posters dished out last year. Its just fun.

Nope not a chick. I just choose not to stoop to the level of some of these posters on here. When we were kids we didn't have the internet to get on and read the trash that adults were saying about us. The trash talk is fine among posters as long as they are not using kids as their pawns in the game. By all means cheer on the kids but don't try and live through these kids for your short coming and failures. Accept it,everyone grows up and moves on. Yeah I wish I too was still playing High school football and cracking heads but the fact Is we just can't.

 

I have nothing against the kids. It is some people on the message boards that this intended for and not the kids. I personally know some of the kids and they are good kids. I respect them and the game they play but not some of the people who try and run their mouth on here.

 

I can understand that. But the players do get on here and read all of this. But when someone is speaking of "cupcakes",then you are including the team.

Where is Treefifty??????????? He came so hard last year on this game, and now is nowhere to be found. I bet he is allergic to cupcakes

 

Once again you as adults should realize that these are high school kids that you are speaking about. Grow up and stop trying to live your short comings through these kids. Pathetic!!

Its not a matter of who wins, Its by how much and how bad South Gibson wants it to be, and if I was them, I would try to make it pretty bad since Obion didnt show any mercy last season

40-14 was not a blowout. Go spew your hatred for OC somewhere else "Truth 1". I like how you diidnt post anything last week when we were going against a young Montgomery Central team. But now that we are facing a tough SGC team you are here again.

No one never said Obion was not a great place to send kids to school. Problem is corruption. Everybody thought Penn State was a great university and program, but it only takes a few to ruin a reputation of a place. Maybe some things have gone unsaid, maybe some things will come to light in the near future, just dont be surprised when things finally become public knowledge.

Letting kids cuss in high school is not the antics I'm talking about....

 

UCGRAD, if the school system wants to invest a couple hundred grand into a sub-par football program, I say let them go for it. Unfortunately for you, it'll come out of your tax dollars if you live in Obion Co. If OC was, let's say Milan, I could understand them investing thousands of dollars into a football program, but when you've made the 2nd round of the playoffs once within the past 10 years with "the best team in school history", I couldn't see investing that much into a program. It's not like OC doesn't have nice enough football facilities as it is now. I guess when it's not as nice as Union City's, then I guess I can understand (sarcasm). Jackson is using OC as a stepping stone to higher grounds and once that opening comes, you should expect for him to leave OC like Kiffin did Tennessee, with no regrets and no second thought of Obion Co.

Everyone know that Jackson is not gonna coach at OC forever. And as far as all the new equipment and accessories for the players, that is all bought through the Quarter Back Club. Not through the "school system or tax dollars". Everyone quit spewing your hatred for the OC coaching staff because you are hurting and discouraging the kids more than the coaches. Coaches are used to criticism,heck most of them live for criticism, it keeps them motivated.

The voice of the people must be heard. Parents are scared to speak negatively because they have kids playing. Do you blame them? The antics that are used are amongst them at the school that no one hears about that I hear within the community. Kids getting cussed, Kids learning to cuss, Coaches letting them do so. It is different when you are winning people let that stuff go. But when you are losing things come to light. Be patient.

LOL....kids learning to cuss in high school??? Open your eyes! The kids learned to cuss in 4th grade. You need to think back to when you were these kids age and what all you knew and did. And every coach I had would always cuss and spit tobacco in your face while doing it. These kids are not being treated any different now than what kids were 50 years ago. Will you complain if your kid joins the military and his commanding officers are mean to him? Give it a rest!

 

 

Once again, Milan did not kick 7-8 onside kicks and they had their starters out in the second quarter. Like I said, there's no justification for what Jackson did last year to Gibson.

But they didn't have to score 60 plus points on you. Oh wait yeah they did ...its called practice. You know maybe that's what Jackson was doing. Maybe he was trying to get some live practice in so that he would be better prepared for the tougher teams down the road. Or maybe its as simple as this... its part of football and if any film had been watched then GC would have known to expect the onside kick. Just bring it on Friday night. Play dirty,get your revenge or however you think it needs to be handled. Maybe you will get your first win in along time. If GC goes out and plays the game with minimal penalties I can see them possibly taking a win Friday night. Truthfully GC going oust there friday night and playing with class and winning would hurt OC more if that's what GC is set out to do. And the only reason I kept bringing Milan up is because it was the most recent. Just remember we only put up 40 against y'all last year. Most all other teams put up more than that when they play GC.

We are talking about player development, Jackson spent zero time with the younger class last two years and it shows this year. We are talking about how Jacksons teams quit on him by the end of the year because they cannot take the negativity. I am not a Gibson fan, could care less but it would be karma for them to put up a fight against the bully who onside kicks and goes for two up 30 or 40. It is not the kids fault at OC that the coaches neglected them. Someone will be there to take the job over soon.

You know im real tired of hearing about the disrespect shown for GC. Milan just blew them away last week. I believe the score was 60 something to 6. Heck everybody does it to GC. Even if the coach wanted kids to slow down on GC do you actually think the kids would listen?? Kids want to win and win BIG! Plus that is the wrong thing to teach a team. You can't tell your kids not to do their best. Plus this years players did get playing time last year. Usually the entire 4th and half of the 3rd quarter unless it was against Covington or Dyersburg or a playoff game.

0-4 a fine job with a big senior class?

Wasn't really talking about this years playing ability. I was speaking mainly about how well he works with the kids. And the respect that they have for him. But if your own here to speak for Gibson Co. I would not even bring up 0-4. What is Gibson County's excuses? Y'all have had several coaches over the past few years without a winning season.

Seek your revenge this year, it is common knowledge Jackson will be out of there after this year and the job search may be on over there at OCCHS.

Im sure contracts can be broken with some kind of penalty but he did enter into a new four year contract this school year. I have no problems with coach Jackson and alot of people may not care for him but he has made it clear that he is not much of a "parent person". He is there for the kids and he does a fine job with them.

What we mean....you will be a Gibson County from last year and Covington will be a Obion County from last year but much better. Covington is Covington and will take advantage of the lopsided night when they play O C. Covington will run through your region with ease. One of their assistant coaches said they remember all of the onside kicks against a helpless Gibson County last year. It is not the kids fault....the O C kids that is...they were told to do so. I'm sure that will be brought up in one of the articles this week somewhere.

Maybe that was the time you should have practiced on the kicking game and not kicking the other over matched team deeper into the dirt. Don't worry though...Covington is down the road and they will remember also. This is why Coach jackson has NO respect in Western Tennessee. I have had many high school coaches and refs say over the summer...that dog don't hunt. Like it or not, O C Coach jackson was totally in the wrong on that game. Now it is this year and just maybe...paybacks comes as a suprise. I still say Obion wins Friday night. Just had to chime in on this one. Get mad at me or not..just stating the facts and what other brought up on here.

Let's be fair and say that OC is not the only team that puts them "deeper in the dirt". Just about everyone the Pioneers play blows them out. Heck, Milan blew them out of the water in the 1st quarter just like OC did last year. Oh and onside kicks are a part of the game. The object of the game is to retain possession of the ball at all cost. There is nothing wrong with getting a little live practice when you have the game under control.

Gibson County's problems are just mental. They always have a strong middle school team. I don't know what happens when they get to high school.

Yeah the Senior banner has been up since before the first game of this season . Its located in the same place as last years banner. Please take it easy on the the smack talk about coach J. Remember that alot of us have kids playing for OC. Please don't let all this get out of hand and ruin our kids time in high school football. These young men read the message boards on here also.
