  1. My money is on the reigning state champions to repeat with Clarkrange once again bringing home the silver. Yeah i know about the new "transfer" or atleast thats what everyone from Clarkrange is calling her. I'm sure we won't hear the whining and crying like we did last year out of C'range or will we? Don't think JC will beat C'range 5 times again like they did last year but will win the one that counts and that will be the one for the G O L D!!!!!! Brown will once again outcoach Rogers as he has done on a regular basis. LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!! Ahh its good to be BACK!!!!!!!

Has someone else transferred???? I have not been on in months but it is not surprising.

Maybe we should pick the top 2 teams and the top 6 players in the state and allow those top 6 to transfer to which of the top 2 teams they want to play for. OH? Sorry. It is already happening. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Pick the best team out there, transfer your daughter, give her a chance to get a state title. From the basketball book on parenting.

  2. I think Richland will be the dark horse. I think with Duke in the middle and some talented young guards, they will definitely surprise some people!!

Jasmine "The Diesel" Duke will be the best player in D11. If the supporting cast can help a little, Richland will be OK. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Moore County eats and breaths basketball and are the favorite. Cornersville is very well coached and is always dangerous. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

Chow Ming has reportedly received permission form TSSAA and the PRC to play for Richland. A 6'10" point guard will make a big difference for Richland. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  3. A district 7-A team was practicing this week after school and this sunday afternoon . I thought the calander says first date of practice is Monday Oct 27th not the week of. Will someone set me straight.

the are exempt from the rules up there. they play at such a higher level than everyone else the state will not question anything they do. However, they do have to get permission from Pat S. of the Vols prior to recruiting or practising illegally. LOL Just kidding. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

I have no idea who you are talking about. What Team????

Does it really matter???? Does everyone not agree that it will be JC and CR in the finals???? /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  4. District 7 prediction. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

    5. RBS

    6.Montey

  5. I have read the bantering/whinning about how JC does blob blob blob.... It is interesting to me that this rhetoric are from the same posters over and over. If the program doesn't suit you, make adjustments in coaching, work ethic and conditioning etc. . Adjust and work. Quit moaning and trash talking other coaches and teams.

Jamie, I don't know why you hate JC so much.... I bet you this-a JC fan has never done any thing wrong to you. Want to bad mouth Brown. Fine he is a big boy. Please don't disregard the accomplishment that the JC young ladies made. STATE CHAMPIONS

cr will be the team to beat this year.... but nothing is in stone.

Long history about anyone having anything but praise for JC getting jumped on. You need to go back and read the history. Most people stated facts and were jumped on about it. Just go back and pat yourselves on the back and keep posting to make yourselves feel better.

Allstar teams usually do win championships. Sad part is they would have probably won without the transfer. They have the tradition, fans, community, talent and coaching to win just about every year. Look what they did 2 years ago with a young team.

JC's coach could take any average team and kick butt with them. If he had Richland's team from last year he would have never lost a game.

If I said anything negative it was simply that it cheapened the championship a little in my opinion because of the transfer. That is my opinion and it has not changed. Cant blame the kids, or the transferee. She just wanted to win a state champion, something that was not going to happen at RBS. I guess, to tell the truth, I was so impressed with how JC did 2 years ago with all them young girls that I was really looking forward to seeing that runner up team win it all last year. Then one of the best players in the state transfers to the school and team. It ruined it for me.

Good luck to Jackson County and ClarkRange. You should be the favorites to meet in the finals again.

The problem with the coacht format is that individuals get on here and comment about one or two posts or they pick one line out of 100 to get mad about and jump on somebody. SAD. Read every post I have made and you will find very very few negative comments and a ton of praise about Jackson County, District 7, and most other schools we have talked about.

  6. 7a was the best in 08. these are young ladies that worked hard, with much sacrifice from their parents, and they deserve respect for what they accomplished. I don't know what they deleted from your posts, but your bitter and unacceptable put downs on here of young people who deserve respect, and schools that work for excellence in all parts of education, should not be allowed. I've made mistakes in my life, realizing that helped me to do better. I am working on that every day. Respect and love for others is a good beginning.

what are you talking??????????????// One word for you, BADMITTEN

Quote a single putdown pointed to a young person buttwhip. And stop trying to make people think you are some intel giant with the Dr. Phil advice you try to give. And post you name and phone number if you would like to talk to me personally.

  7. I heard that Jackson County and ClarkRange have gotten into the recruiting wars for Chow Ming, the 6'10" point guard sister of the NBA star???? Anyone else heard that?

She was going to Richland but the TSSAA would not allow Richland to have an individual training table at the end of the bench just for her (she eats allot). /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> Has Chow's agent dropped that demand??

Also heard that Richland was dropped off Chow's interest list when Chad Hall quit.

    Anyone got any info????? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  8. Great News!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought I was right but I went to check to make sure, and yes, my bible still says it:

That Jesus loves district 7 people too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Even Jackson County and ClarkRange People. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Now I did not say that the bible mentioned you by name. Even Jackson County and ClarkRange have not gotten that big yet!!!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> With a couple more recruits, maybe? But not yet. HA HA HA

Although I do not like the all-star teams that you guys are building up there, I love the fact you have fans that love the game and I bet you fill the gyms up there. Keep cheering for those kids. That is what it is all about. They need to seriously play a couple of JC/CR games in a college gym each year (other than the state championship game) to allow everyone who wants to come to come. I bet some people cant even get in the gym to see some of these games. There are a few games down this way that are the same. Moore County ususally has people outside trying to get in, as does Summertown. I am sure I am leaving some out. Some schools down here have built bigger gyms that will hold a large crowd.

Hey everyone, is anyone at Summer Camps looking like they can compete with JC and CR????

When does JC go back to AA? I guess D7 will dominate both A and AA then.

  9. Duke is at camp with richland. poor thing does everything for her team from bringing the ball up the floor against the press to scoring the majority of their points. you can tell she is really frustrated with her team's performance, but she is doing all she can do. she is a tremendous talent.

As for district 11, moore county has looked pretty good at camp. they only have seven varsity players which could be a problem with the season rolls around but thusfar the point guard and the center have carried them.

Glad to hear Jasmine stuck with her team, unlike others who leave when does not look like they can win 20 games.

    That is called loyality.

Jasmine is a class act from a class family. She handled the ball up to 9th grade when she started fulltime with varsity.

Good luck Richland. I heard that you got a good coach. It will not take long for him to build a good program. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  10. Do not care what anyone says moves like this is bad for high school basketball! TSSAA needs to stop this, if players transfer make them sit out a year just like college. If I am running Monterey High School no way on earth does this parent coach my schools football team!

One thing you made me think of that I had not earlier considered, Ty. It may be hard for this coach to sell his football players on team loyality now.

  11. Well I certainly understand the young ladies' desire to play with the best....and I wish her the best.....both JC and Clarkrange are quickly becoming all-star teams and this does make it incredibly difficult for typical Class A schools to compete with them, but we will sure give it our best!!! /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Aunt Kim, your girls got there state championship with all homegrown lady rockets, Right???? Keep working hard and it will work out. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  12. It will be a dog fight for the top 4 position. The best player is Jasmine Duke of Richland (2008-09 Ms. Basketball Finalist), if she did not transfer. I have not heard.

If Cornersville still has their coach, I would favor them in the district.

  13. Kids and parents are not stupid, They want to play for state championships. Jackson County benefited last year and now clarkrange will benefit. The JC transfer saw after the playoffs 2 years ago that a state championship was not in the cards for RBS so she transferred to where it was almost guarenteed with the supporting staff JC had. Anyone with a brain knows that ClarkRange is by far the favorite to win state the next couple years. Because of this, they are the winners this time. Apparently a state championship is important to this kid and her parents. Can't blame them. I would love to have one too.

I personally think being a very very big fish in an average size pond is better than being a big fish in a big pond with numerous other big fish. Makes is harder to stand out.

I think the young lady has proven herself as a top notch player. From a distance, it appears to me that she would have been better off competing against Jackson County and ClarkRange than by joining one of them.

Just another allstar team to watch at 'boro. Like I said last year, and was cussed for doing so, it kinda cheapens things in my opinion. ClarkRange would win state with or without her, just like Jackson County would have most likely won state with or without their transfer last year.

Good luck to the young lady. And from what I have heard, the parents in this case have taken the high road, as has the M coach. Glad to see it, although I would have loved to have seen how far their daughter could have taken Montey.

    Just my views from afar.

  14. I have heard the same thing that he is going to one of the small Alabama schools.... he has also applied at Independence and some talks have come up about him going to Mt. Pleasant....

He is from Alabama if I remember correctly. What is considered small Alabama schools have produced some great coaches over the years. Alabama goes 1a to 6a. There are many that would love to have him. He knows the Xs and Os of basketball as well as anyone I know. And he can break down another team's playbook well too. I believe he would be best as a boy's coach. Motivating girls and boys is different. I believe his style is better suited for boys, although he has won a ton of games as a girl's coach.

  15. I heard today that Chad Hall is going to Cornersville. Has Coach Landers left?????

Hall coaches other sports too so he may coach something else.

Maybe just folks talking. We shall see.

  16. Cornersville High School is looking for basketball games for the 08-09 season. Possible dates are Nov. 24, Dec. 1,5, 19, 20, Jan. 30, Feb. 12,13. Please contact Coach Wilson @ thebigasports@yahoo.com

I would like to see Richland play Cornersville more often. Although they are in the same district, allot of folks in that area have kin folks on both sides. It always appeared to me that most the players and fans wanted it to be a friendly rivalry but one or two parents always tried to keep things stirred up. If I was coaching Richland, Cornersville and my team would play several more times a year, and maybe even have all day practices together to help build both teams. Just my opinion.

By the way, the rumor I heard today was that Chad Hall was going to Cornersville. I would assume to coach in some shape, form or fashion. Has Cornersville's girls coach left????

I think Cornersville's school district pays better too.

  17. Giles County BOE will probably not pay enough to get a top notch coach. They are one of the lowest paying school systems in the state of TN. The head coach gets a 12% bonus I think but most coaches spend why more than that on their teams and the Team's activities. Richland has a great booster club. Maybe they could kick in some money???

  18. My wife and I have heard nothing. I was told Monday that they are interviewing now. Plans for team camps should be finalized by now so I wish they would have acted sooner.

They offered me the job but could not pay me what the gov. does. I was willing to take a little pay cut but not too much. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    Paid my dues, GreenWheel. I have not been on for a while. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

  19. Rope you are 1 of them, wonder who the other 2 are?

Me too muffin. Maybe the wise Coach07 will enlighten us.

    Oh mighty coach07 /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> , please enlighten us as only you can. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Hey coach007 /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> , I have seen no one put down D7 or either of the championship teams. Me nor anyone else predicting who will play for what is not putting down another team. Get a grip and look up the word humility. Shoot, haven't I bragged on JC and CR enough for all us?

Also, Coach007, who said I had any intelligence or credibility to begin with to be slipping anyway? I didn't. As a matter of fact, I have given one prediction after another and said that I had cursed the team I predicted to win by doing so. And I was right. I have fans of some teams begging me to predict they will lose. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  20. I think anytime you have more athletes to choose from your level of play will go up, but I also believe that there are girls in A ball that would be stars on any team in the state. They are fewer and farther between, but they are there. That is why I think AAU is so important for these girls, because it levels the field so to speak. I'm a big fan of all teams in 7A, but I'm a bigger fan of hard work and a good attitude. I know that their are young men and women all over this state that lay it on the line, and those are the players I'm a fan of. The players that I mentioned are the players I get to see and they are the ones who make me go WOW. I talked to Molly and asked her what she thought about the state tournament and she was very impressed with several players in the tournament. She mentioned how good the girl from Milan was. I think she was a Miss Basketball finalist. My point is most of the people talking all this 7A dominence stuff are fans, and that is what fans do, but the athletes that are laying it on the line don't have time for that. These girls also enjoy being around other players that are really good. Have you ever noticed at the end of the game how the stud players will hug out of respect for one another. I have witnessed that and thought you know that is great battle your butt off and then show a great respect for each other.

    i agree totally

  21. Bud, I know that Molly, Laken, and Tasha all play D1 AAU. Molly and Laken played for the same organization last year. Laken is a year older than Molly so they were not on the same team, but I know they played last year. Molly started for her AAU team and she averaged around 12 to 15 points per game against the best competition in the country at her age. Her team played several Adidas and Nike showcase tournaments across the country. In every showcase tournament her 14 and under team played up in age. The girls in 1A ball almost have to play AAU to prove they can play against the best competition. They have to overcome the "she plays A ball" mentality.

You are so right Scuba. I have heard the "she plays A ball" thing myself several times and people on Coacht have got all over me for even suggesting that a major team like the lady vols could even consider a class A player. We have great players in Class A just like the other Classes. However, when watching a higher classification game, it is obvious that the quality of play is better overall than at the class A level.

I guess I get a little ill when individuals 1)talk down kids. (If they have nothing good to say about a particular kid, then talk about one you can say something positive about. 2)When individuals get so full of themselves or their team's success that they start believing that no one can compete with a certain kid or group of kids. There are a ton of girls in Tennessee that play ball year round and that are great players. This includes the kids listed above from JC and CR. They are great players and their skills show their dedication to the game and they should be bragged on.

I would recommend anyone wanting to talk about how much better their kids are than any others to start their own thread and entitle it something like "District 7 rules and all others stink" or "the players at JC and CR are the only one's that count".

Ladies at ClarkRange and Jackson County, please do not take this as I am cutting you down. I have stated many times that you have proven your greatness on the court and your dedication and hard work shows in the results. Not many districts can claim to have had their top 2 teams meet in the finals at state. I do not know if it has ever happened and it might just happen again next year. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

It is just that some of your fans are full of themselves. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  22. In reference to the talent level at A, AA, and AAA:

Most of the girls that were mentioned are used to playing AAU and play against the best talent in our Nation (if they play D1 AAU).

And Jackson County and Clarkrange coaches are known for playing AA and AAA schools in their regular season schedules. They usually pull wins out of those matchups, so I don't really understand what you are talking about with the talent level in these divisions.

Another example, JC girls scrimmaged Wilson Central pre-season and won! So, this theory that you seem to be presenting is not always the case, especially in today's times where so many girls are working in the off season to get better at their game.

You are right. Should have never questioned the fact that anyone from those 2 schools is far and away better than any other team that could be put together. I heard the ladyvols were even scared.

Start a AAAA division for just 2 schools. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
