All things considered I think DB did a lot tonight to help the program for the future. After not playing so well last week I think they bounced back pretty well against one of the best teams in the state. Science Hill losing to Bearden tonight makes last weeks loss even more puzzling. Before the season started I had DB winning two or three games this year. After a 4-6 record last year to 8-2 this year with a lot of Jr.'s and sophs. is a pretty good turnaround. Just  need to coach up that secondary and cut out all those silly mistakes. Maybe next year will be better. Alcoa is on Maryville's level so it was a good showing tonight. I think closer than the final score. Good job by the staff with the game plan.

They did a lot for their future - 1st yes they quit scheduling Greeneville whom kept handing it to them , but heres where you you all lost your mind playing Alcoa ha ha , as we all know DB was just another bump in the road to another 3A championship run for Alcoa so they were making u all feel good for a while - the way i see it and this is a "fact" the money that is pumped into DB every year and with one of the biggest student enrollment's in the state of Tenn as of this year 7th with over 2000 students -- Maryville comes in at 80th -- and poor ole Alcoa 207th and still field one of the top programs in the state - and as i meant by pouring money - the donations made by all the companys and business's  there in kingsport helping supply the Athletes  throughout the season when you have that kind of support you should be a top tier program year in -year out .jmho...............congrats to All that make it to the playoffs thats a lot of work put in by these young men .............

Gutsy comeback! 33-3 run after being down 21-0. Ferguson is the starting until proven otherwise. Coaching and discipline needs to get better! So predictable at times

yes good comeback - But we have got to get that O-Line focused 16 penality's over 140 yards thats not gonna win state championships game tonight  Sh running back goes out and the devils stamina won out SH got wore down in the 4th ........

Hope the appeal works out for MC. We Greene fans remembers the Maplewood boys from 2010 & 2011.  I don't recall having as much trouble out of them.  We did have some trouble out of Trezavant back 2010.

Looking forward to this 4th round game with MC.  Should be a great game and atmosphere.  Hope MC brings all their fans with them.

WAS JUST LOOKING LOOKS LIKE A 4 TO 5 HOUR RIDE - BE cAREFUL AND SAFE AND YOU WILL BE WELCOMED TO GREENEVILLE !

greengreen, yes  indeed i saw the horrible officiating, that's not what i meant when i said i was e mbarassed by SOME of our fans...not all....and yes i saw the article in the paper and honestly, i didnt see a thing wrong with what gillum said...if it's true, its not really smack talk is it? we HAVENT seen a team all year that throws it like AC and what he said about our defense...and i quote " Defensively they have kind of a vanilla scheme as far as not having  a ton of movement or looks, but i think thats because they understand HOW GOOD THEY ARE and they dont have to do that.........he goes on to say "their front four has beat up people all season, their linebackers et to the football and tey have great athletes at safety and corner. The one thing they all have in common is they get to the football and they are the best tackling team we  have seen all season. Their  physicality and aggresson i think will be the biggest challenge for us."...now how in the world greengreen do  you get anyting smack talky out of that? im also not sure what you meant by being buddy buddy with him? the coach i said i met was Gary Terry, an assistant coach, not Gillum the head coach........what i meant by embarassed was when marten went down with his inury, all our players and most everyone else on our sideline was kneeling, like they usually do during an injury, but alot of our fans were being loud, talking and what not....then at the end of the game, again, while they had a kid down on the field with an injury, alot of our fans were snging the na na na na hey hey  hey, good bye song..now be honest greengreen, if this were the opposite and ballard was down with and injury or any other of our kids, and their fans were over there being loud and disrespectful you would be pissed the F off, just like I would.....I love our fans, i love our devils and i love everything about Greene Devils football, but sometimes some of our fans have a tendency to be a bit hypcritical about things....thats oll man, i certainly dont want to get into an argument with one of my own, but at the same time, i think its only fair to point things out when the need to be pointed out.....am i right or wrong here? you tell me

Ok gotcha yes u are right on the young man being down that was uncall for , but i feel most of the fans had already had enough of the refs and just spouting off to get rid of some aggression i too do not want to see a kid hurt on either side of the ball i too love the Devils since my 1st game way back in 1972 i graduated from there and have always followed them everywhere and hurt when they lose , not gonna get into the buddy buddy thing that was just me spouting off about his statements saying we have not seen a team like his - yea right ! in closing love what u do BVD you keep things rollin on video for everyone to enjoy , even thou we won i was still pissed over the calling and need somewhere to let it fly sorry if i crossed the line we do this sometimes we all are human - so lets go win this thing next fri and hit Cookeville WFO!

Much respect to Stanton the Mavs fans I met and to coach Gary Terry who came up to me before the game and gave me the biggest compliments ever....I was embarrassed by some of the Greeneville fans on the press box side...I'll explain in my video...most gutsy Greene devil performance I've ever seen...any other team would have packed it in and went to the house after getting hit like we did in the first quarter and getting down 21  zip....we will see the Mavs again next year for sure.....great game and this game I promise you will stick in ACs head all off-season and most likely will make them better next year.....

embarrassed bvd you obiviously did not see the callin like we did in the stands it was horrible i was sitting at the 30 yard line and  ac held and had a face mask in the 1st half among all the other crap that the refs missed they where worst than last week yes while we didnt help ourselves buy the turnovers there was some very bogus call SEVERAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Way to go Greene Devils to out play the refs ! jm2c.....................

and by the way the ac coach bvd did u not read the smack he was throwing down the devils have never seen anybody like us .. What !! and CALLING THE DEVILS DEFENSE VANILLA!!!!! then goes on to try and cover it up bs u can be buddy  buddy with him but as far as im concerened and 99% of the Devil fans im glad there going home this aint a time for compliments its time to play ball and shut up the nasayers ........................................

Before it even starts, I would ask all my fellow Gville supporters to not come on here talking junk.  Nearly everyone underestimated AC all week, and AC might've deserved to win that game.  Tough pill to swallow.

i have not been on here in a while but after witnessing the clASSless fan from AC coming up to a GHS player in the parking lot walking up to the game and asking him why are you still here you need to go ahead and leave cause your getting ready to get your A** kicked that was the most disgusting thing for a so called fan to call out a kid of the oppisite team i know there are some on both sides but dont pick on the kids hope all ac fans aint that way , Go Devils you deserve the win i wont get into the pitiful calling of the game ..............

  12. He is a football player. There are different levels of "D-1" football programs. You may not necessarily be ready to start in the SEC but could still be very capable of having a tremendous career at a D-1 program at some level. It is very unfortunate that so much stock is put into height and weight. While those factors are important, they are not the sole determiners of whether you can be successful at the next level.

My take is that High is 5-11, 175 pounds. His arm strength is very very good and is D-1 caliber in my opinion. He is very mobil and elusive, as well as having good speed. (He started all year at safety his sophomore season.) His accuracy is better than many college QB's that are currently having success. He has never been in trouble, has good grades from what I understand, and is very bright. He has run a very complex offense for 2 seasons and broken numerous state and national records in the process.

IMO, the ONLY issue with High is height and weight. Is he tall enough to see over the OL and DL? Is he big enough to take the hits he would take in D-1 ball? He has not added a whole lot of size over the last couple of years. Having said that, someone is going to get one heck of a college QB. He needs to go somewhere that 1. has a passing oriented offense that will utilize his God given accuracy. 2. Can utilize his ability to roll out and be highly accurate while throwing on the run, as well as his ability to make plays with his feet.

This kid has a very High football IQ, and if put in the right situation, is going to make his mark at that program. He is a winner.

YES I HAD THE PLEASURE TO WATCH THIS YOUNG MAN THIS YEAR AND I WAS IMPRESSED ON HIS POISE - ANY D1 SCHOOL WILL BE ON THE LOSING END OF HIS ARM ONE DAY BECAUSE THEY DIDNT GIVE HIM A TRY! CHARLIE HIGH YOU ARE A TOP 5 QB IN MY BOOK!
  13. Great game Fulton!Champs in the most hotly contested classification in the state. Two pretty even teams personel wise, looked like to me...coaching wasn't close.Top notch coaches adjust what they do constantly and Fulton's kept tweaking until they had it right,Covington only changed when desperiaton dictated...and Fulton(and everyone else)knew they had to.P.S. I've checked craigslist for a Greene filter...anyone have one in working order that they'd part with?

    GREENE FILTER ????
