Game Day!

The Dragons had best be focused and on fire because Coach Lamm WILL have his bunch ready to play this one.  

Some things I'm seeing:

York has found moments of true competitiveness in these first two games.  They have not been grossly out-talented or dominated.  Like last year; they are the best team in the state at shooting themselves in the foot at the worst times possible.

York must find consistency on offense, sustaining drives and time of possession.

York must improve at wrapping ball carriers on defense.

York must step up special team contributions.

All three phases of the game must take immediate corrective action to avoid undisciplined, foolish penalties. Penalties have been killing us.  

York offensive line needs to gel as a team within the team.

I believe Coach Samber and crew are trying to find the answers. We have several kids capable of making big plays on both sides of the ball.  A win would go a long way to restoring some confidence and belief in themselves. For the last 5 or 6 years, going down by two scores has seemed to be the death knell of this team. Heads drop and play starts getting sloppy, frustrated, and uninspired at times. These seniors have been playing together for a long, long time and are a really good group of kids off the field. They were winners in middle school and I'm hopeful they go out as winners.

If accuweather.com's forecast is correct, weather will not be a factor Friday night.  If York will play like they did in the second half last week, this will be a great game.

The battle for next to dead last in the region....I have no prediction.

EH has the better coach.  But LA has more athletes.  LA in a close one.

I don't know who the skipper at EH is, but if he's better than Bruce Lamb in Livingston he's something special.  

Without question, one of the worst decisions I've ever seen a coach make.  He should have NEVER done that to the defense.  Although I dont think he cares much about defense, him being the "wiz" and all.

Charlie Vaughn is spinning in his grave right about now.

Livingston has had this rivalry locked up the last several years.  Here's hoping it changes tonight!

Congrats and good luck Bees.  Your coaching staff clearly had our number and out schemed us badly.  At one point,  literally 11 Bees were stacked in the box and we ran up the middle. ***shakes head***

According to weather.com, Baxter, TN will have a temp of 40* at kick off.  I believe I'll raid my deer hunting supplies for a package of Hot Hands.

Cam Sutton was never a walk on though. He was a 3 star recruit and been on scholarship since day one. You're most likely thinking of Devaun Swafford.

Cam Sutton being a 3 star recruit seems funny now.  I hope he hangs in Knoxville until he's out of eligibility!!!!!

This is a great rivalry, although it would be better if the scoreboard were in our favor a bit more often.  I haven't seen Hogeye play this year although they are obviously talented from reading on here.  York started this year on a pretty rocky note, but have managed to grow into a pretty good little football team.  Very blue collar, kinda like Fentress County.

Here's to the biggest upset in 8AA....go Dragons, shock CoachT!!!!!

Best thing we can do is get up early and stay that way.  Giving a scrappy team a glimmer of hope has upset written all over it.
