yes.   they also defeated Brentwood Academy in a preseason playdate game at BA.  Last night they grinded out a tough win against a good Clarksville High Team 52-46

Watch out for the Brentwood Bruins this year.   In 4 play date scrimmages they are only giving up 28 points.  They beat USN, Lawrence County, MBA and Brentwood Academy.   They also won the WKU Summer Camp tourney.  They are big, long and quick.  They are the  district coaches favorite to win the district 11 title and are the defending district tournament champions.  This team is loaded, experienced, deep and on a mission. 

John Gunn, James Bradley, Alvin Wright Melrose team from 1974 or the 69 Melrose team of Larry Finch and Ronnie Robinson. The best memphis chigh school player I ever saw was Johnny Neuman at Overton that same year. Look him up. He led the nation in scoring his soph year at Ole Miss. Closest thing to Pete Maravich.

I saw him play in the state tournament for Mem Northside back in the day. I miss seeing guys like Joe Branch, Verties Sails, and Terry Tippett roaming the sidelines for the Memphis teams back in the day. I thought the 73 Melrose team with Gunn, Bradley, and Wright was the best I ever saw.[/

Hey Darkside, the Brentwood Middle School 8th grade team went undefeated this year winning the county championship and the TNT State Championship. They also went undefeated as 7th graders and won the Willismson County JV championship last yr. Thry won nearly 40 straight games in 2 yrs with only 1 victory in single digits. all the others were blowouts. I don't think we will have to wait 16 yrs. Put it this way, we will be bsck to the state tourney sooner than White County.

Need a little cheese to go with that wine? I will give you the same words you gave White Co fans. See ya in 16 more years! Bahhhhaaaaa!

Brentwood Middle School's varsity team hasn't lost a game in 2 years winning the Williamson County JV Championship last year and the varsity Championship this year. they also won the TNT State Championship this year.  watch out for them in the coming years.  They will definitely be a regular state tournament participant over the next few years.

 

All the best to the Bruins in the championship game tomorrow. 

This Brentwood Middle School team of rising 8th graders was 4-0 at the Franklin team camp this week with wins over Station Camp, Lipscomb Academy, Brentwood Academy and TW Hunter.  

Brentwood Middle School boys JV team won the Williamson County Championship today and finished the season 19-0.

Brentwood Middle School Boys JV team is undefeated  with an average winning margin of over 20 points per game.  they are currently 15-0 with 1 game left and the JV tournament remaining.

A first down there ends the game. They were going for the first down. I agree that they could have planned for 4th down territory, but I honestly don't think they thought that they would really be stopped. I don't blame them considering that they hadn't punted but once all game. You can question the coaching there, but I don't think it is that bad really. Take a risk and put the game in the hands of your offense that has already gashed Marvyille for almost 500 yards of total offense.

i understand what your saying but your playing the clock at that point. if they were on the 20 or closer I agree with you but not on the 40 with about 7 yds to go.

why did Siegel pass on 3rd down and then go for it on 4th? they should have been taking time off the clock or forcing MHS to burn their timeouts. punt on 4th down would have at least had MHS on the 20 instead of the 40. poor coaching by SHS. they had this game.

Maybe it's the way Brentwood won the semi? I can't remember when I have seen a team score off of an post-injury restart. Most teams/coaches have the class to play the ball back to a defender for the opposing team.

if I recall the referee called the free kick not brentwood and the brentwood player was the one that had to leave the field injured.

they dropped Franklin from 3rd to 5th after we beat them in the regional finals but Oak Ridge stayed at #2 for a couple of weeks after losing in the regional semifinals. maybe there is an east tn bias. thx for the eurosport link

i was not impressed with how the tournament was organized and set up. Because there was also a travel tournament the same weekend decent hotels were hard to find and book for large parties. Secondly unless you reached the finals there was no PA announcing of the starting lineups or the game. and lastly the officiating was very poor and inconsistent. During the season our team had some games that were not well officiated but several of the games I watched in chattanooga were poorly and inconsistently called games.

After defeating Farragut in the Semifinals and then Seigal in the finals shouldnt the Lady Bruins now be ranked the #1 team in the Coach T rankings? also, how does Oak Ridge continue to be ranked so high when they were knocked out in the Regionals.
