He experienced a bad shoulder injury last year and had to have surgery so he missed the entire season he just flew under the radar. I think the shoulder surgery helped him gain speed dont ask me how, but he has never threw this hard i love watching him play probably has one of the best sliders ive ever seen

He is a heck of an athlete farm bread learned a lot of skills on his own his dad really talked him up to me...he seems like a real nice kid and to be throwing 93 in high school it wouldn't surprise me if he was a first or second round draft pick

I heard the Ben Smith guy from RIchland that pitches is throwing smoke they clocked him at 93 mph against Santa Fe and his dad told me he is getting looked at by Tennessee, Alabama, Michgan State and a bunch of other D1 schools

So it is an all zone defense extended and pressure? It doesn't look like they have much size but neither does Richland should be a good matchup

I like Richland in this one but I believe it has to be the best ball they've played all year haven't seen a roster on GCA so idk how the matchups will play out

GREAT GAME TONIGHT! AND THANK YOU FOR SAVING ME THE GAS BY BRINGING THE NEXT GAME HOME LOL. Even better win than before since our tall man was in foul trouble the majority of the game. I found it funny in the end how the Richland fans cheered " We got class" when they had a guy running down the sideline in his boxers and another fan throwing popcorn on our cheerleader. Who sits courtside by all the action with an almost new born baby anyways? Class is when you shake hands after you celebrate like we did instead of walking off the court like they did before. You can kiss that state rematch goodbye because White House is not letting that happen! Thanks for the plaque!

This could be the year that 11A goes in to the Region Tournament a little stronger than 12A.

 

My picks - Round 1

 

Summertown (9-20) vs. Richland (25-5)

 

Culleoka (10-18) vs. Wayne County (11-15)

 

Santa Fe (13-16) vs. Collinwood (19-8)

 

Loretto (12-14) vs. Mt. Pleasant (21-3)

 

Culleoka has been playing better and I think they get the upset win although it may not be that much of upset but WC is the higher seed. Culleoka/WC game will be the only close game in Round 1. All other games will be 15+.

Richland vs Culleoka

 

Mt. Pleasant vs Collinwood

 

MP beats Collinwood by 15+. Culleoka plays Richland closer than they did in the district tournament and keeps the game close for a while but Richland pulls away late in the 3Q. Richland by 10+.

 

Finals

 

Richland vs Mt. Pleasant

 

This could be another classic! I just don't see Richland beating MP twice in a row although I'm not saying it can't happen but I'm going with MP by 5+ in regulation.

Richland has already beat mtp two times in a row. Once in the regular season and then in the District Champ. It will be another hard fought game but they both have to get there first.

None of these teams will win state. 12a is down. Collinwood is the best team in it and they played with MP, and CA. Dont get your hopes up.

You might want to double check what Bdizzle said he said will END UP IN state he didnt say win but i think if Richland competes the way they have been since the mtp game that its very likely...and im pretty sure a 17 point loss to CA isnt close at all 11a dominates this year thats that

You might want to check ur statement again. Richland and Mt Pleasant are in a tie for the #1 seed in the district which will result in a coin flip

Who takes the game tonight? Richland is coming off an embarrassing loss to CA

They played Whitwell and won the championship game tonight...looked great fought really hard thought out the whole tourney

Richland is going to the Smokey Mountain Classic. What teams should they expect to play there and what are the chances of them doing well in this tournament?

Collinwood is has been missing 3 Starters(Montgomery, Butler, Daniel) and another guard(Risner) that will see lots of minutes. And they have still played well. It took Richland extra minutes to beat Collinwood. I expect them handle Richland with Montgomery back in. Only having 7 kids to play killed Collinwood in the late minutes.

 

As for the injuries; Daniel is out, Butler should be back by tournament time, and Risner will return in a few weeks.

Richland shot terrible percentages from all around the floor once they start hitting shots they will be very tough if they can keep their defense and rebounding up like i have seen
