  1. I just heard some more crazy rumors about this sad story. Ridgeway assistant coach was found murdered in his home a few days before all of this stuff came out about the adult player, he was a no call no show at work for few days before his body was discovered by authorities. Police had no suspects or leads in the murder. Word is going around that the coach may have found out about the player and was possibly killed for it. Its sounds pretty far fetched, but in light of all thats going on with this crazy story, I just dont know what to think. They are supposedly investigating the adult now as a suspect in the coach's murder. Again this is all just hearsay thats been going on around the school. I think the adult student and his gaurdian should be facing some type of criminal charges for falsifying documents, fraud, or something.

go back to my "barn"? a little bigotry in your speech. just accept the truth of my statement and go back to your "section 8" home...did you like that?

It only further proves my point about your IQ and the quality of a man you are(not). I bet u wish I was in section 8 don't you? Sorry to disappoint you, I'm doing pretty good down here. But I would gladly accept the truth in your statement if I could find any...

  3. nothing done to this guy bc memphis is its own little entity that really isnt relative to the rest of tn. we know that. coaches there could not get a job anywhere else. that is fact. the only thing they have is talented players. you think people who voted for obama are going to scream for one of their own to be fired? heck just ban all memphis teams from the state and let their city championship count as their state tourney. it means more to them anyhow.

The epitome of stupidity. Would you like some cheese with that wine? Idk how Obama came into this picture, but the only purpose your comment served is to prove how pathetically miserable and ignorant u must be. U know nothing about what anything means to "them" and our coaches are good enough to consistently beat your coaches whoever they may be. Just accept defeat and go back to your barn with your whining.

  5. Everything that the adult student and his whatever did is not the schools or coaches fault if they had nothing to do with it and no knowledge of it. Ur saying the kids PROBABLY knew and said nothing like they were sticking up for their buddy and keeping his secret. He was an out of state transfer, the kids PROBABLY didnt know him or were friends with him prior to basketball season, so ubthink the kids shouldve did their own investigation on this mysterious transfer. Yes the guy and his whatever the girl is are definite scum clown losers. Those of u who are so quick to say the coach was cheating and wanna give the school the death penalty without knowing the facts are in fact clowns as well who only want the amusement of this bizarre story. All the things u mentioned that he did were to deceive the school, coach, and PROBABLY teammates. They cant be held accountable for what they didnt know. Some people(clowns) like to jump to conclusions when they see a flashy headline and some people like to wait and gather facts and knowledge about the situation before making judgements. I prefer the latter.Yea they really got an unfair advantage over the teams they beat by having him warm the bench....not! The coach doesn't do background checks on parents or guardians if no flags were raised when his eligibility was verified with false info from another state. It's unfortunate for the entire Ridgeway program. I'm sure a lot of u are glad that they are out of it because they were a favorite to win and Memphis isn't exactly the most beloved city in TN. The Consequenses given were based off facts not probabilities...

  6. The coach isnt gonna get fired because he did nothing wrong. If he had known all along y would he wait until they were this deep in the playoffs to report it to tssaa. The coach and the school reported the incident to tssaa themselves once they found out something wasnt right, it only came to light because the student got in trouble at school that morning and it was some issues once they contacted the gaurdian. He and his fake gaurdian/aunt/gf/wife or whatever made up a whole story about how his biological mother died and she was his legal gaurdian now to transfer him to ridgeway from louisiana. They had false transcripts from a real louisiana HS. How can u know everything about a transfer from out of state who lied and had seemingly followed all the guidelines for the transfer? So please someone who believes that the coach and administration knew about it and is responsible for a bench warmer throwing their whole season down the drain please explain why the school would wait till his team was this deep in the post season to decide to turn the info over to the tssaa if they had known about it??? The only ones who should be punished here are the adult student and his fake gaurdian and u clowns who are so quick to crucify everyone at the school with out knowing the facts. Unfortunately the innocent players and coaches have to suffer a season wasted and im sure the loser will run back to louisiana and continue his loser life...

  7. Im just ready to hear the full truth after the full investigation, glad they found out about this now and not after ridgeway won state. From what I've been hearing around here in memphis the coaches and principal had no idea about it and they reported it to tssaa as soon as they found out. To make things worse, the adult stusdent in question sucked and wasnt even a starter or in regular rotation. I feel bad for the honest players (especially seniors) on that team whos entire season has gone down the drain

  8. Don't even go there about football. You know as well as I do that the one ref gave you the game over Maryville. The replay clearly showed the lineman was NOT down field. It wasn't even close!

Im not even trying to go there, even I agree the ref made a bad call but he in no way gave us the game, we took it! Now back to basketball. May the best team win just like we did in football, and if Blackmon does win they would have earned it. Good luck to them, they will need it!

  9. Again, not saying memphis ball isn't the best consistently. But Blackman wasn't "humbled" by champion Memphis East last year when they only lost by one point at state.

East wasnt even that good in memphis last year, they just got hot and played good when it counted. Meaning that Blackmon and every other team with an impressive regular season record will need to toss that record out the window when the playoffs get to rolling and just play ball. Im sure Blackmon coach and players from last year arent going around saying how they only lost by one point last year, a one point loss is the same as a thirty point loss. They werent humbled because they werent a favorite and top team last year like they are now

  10. This might have been the case in years past but Blackmon is the odds on favorite to win the state championship this year and they will. All the gold will be in middle and east tn this year boys so you might as well start the crying now. All west tn has is basketball the middle and east rule the other sports but now we will OWN men's basketball too!

I normally stay out of the basketball message boards, but my school is in the thick of things this year in the states best district. Currently the gold ball in football is OWNED my Whitehaven Tigers in memphis. Just because we typically dominate the rest of the state in basketball doesnt mean we're not consitently competitive in other sports. I havent seen Blackmon play but I cant wait till they play any team from the West and receive a humbling experience. Im pretty sure that a Memphis school will be returning with another gold ball when this tournament is over unless Dyer County pulls it off which will be just fine with me. West side the Best side lol

  11. Lol! Its hilarious how the Senator gets under yall skin. Im a WH alum and former football player and the flag should NOT have been thrown in that situation, but it was, no use in crying over spilled milk. Bad calls are a part of any game, we're kinda used to that at WH but surprisingly it went in our favor for once. Thats why sports teaches you to overcome adversity, we're used to that too. I heard the ref was fired, what more do u want?

btw congrats to all 12 or 13 of the Whitehaven players and all the other TN players who signed scholarships yesterday. Cant wait for football season to roll back around, keep it up Senator and always... RESPECT THE HAVEN... B) or else... :roflol:

  12. The Haven will reload as usual, with plenty of young talent and possible transfers but I was wondering what other teams from the west will have a chance to go deep in the playoffs?

Well regardless, Respect the Haven program and we look forward to more battles with the likes of MJ and MV. My bold prediction is that the West will take home two of the next three gold balls and hopefully they both will be at Whitehaven...

GP and Darrius Sims are going to be Commodores so I guess we will be Vandy fans by default as well.

As far as Mark is concerned, he has his work cut out for him. Last year Ole Miss landed two 4-star RB's from the state of Tennessee. They are now true freshmen on campus. One was known in high school as the "I-Train" ... AKA I'tavious Mathers from Independence High School (someone correct me if I am wrong) out of the Nashville-area. The other one is a home grown Memphian named Jaylen Walton. You remember him don't you? Well ... on his second carry from scrimmage in an Ole Miss uniform, he scored from about 9 yards out in a game I saw televised here in Memphis. Both I'tavious and Jaylen have seen minutes this year under Hugh Freeze, but nothing significant. Now, they will throw Mark in the mix. It should be interesting, to say the least, on the Ole Miss campus during spring practice. Man! ... three 4-star RB from the state of TN at his disposal. I'll be keeping my eye on the Black Bears from Oxford.

On another not, it is really going to get interesting around here in Memphis recruiting wise, because Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Vanderbilt have already established themselves with the local high school coaches. LSU, Bama, and Georgia will also come in and steal a blue chipper every now and again. Heck, there is a lineman from Memphis East committed to UCLA. If UT wants the blue chip recruits from Memphis, it's going to take some one who has already established a relationship with the local high school coaches. Butch has done that with his tenure at Cincy. I wonder if he will be able to capitalize from that.

Things just got tougher for Justin Fuente at the U of M. That's nothing that winning won't cure however. Win, and he can get his fair share of top recruits from his own back yard.

Memphis has a long long long way to go before they can start getting top recruits from the area, but one would think that UT would b more on their radars. Its gonna take Butch some time to turn things around at UT and hopefully he can get his fair shot.

Yes I'm very familiar with Walton from Ridgeway but Dawson down at UG was the real stud on that team to me. I think Mark will do great because of his work ethic an attitude on and off the field. Never met a more humble local star than him. Not really sure what type of offense Ole Miss runs but I sure hope Freeze will find a way to utilize his young weapons. I think Ole Miss can be in the thick of things in the SEC in about 2 years. And yes go Vandy too. Ole Miss/Vandy game will def be a lot more exciting for Memphis fans in the next couple years

  14. The ref wasn't African American but the man that threw the flag was...does that mean he did it on purpose...NO. It has no meaning to me at all...but the player, #50, WAS NOT IN THE ENDZONE WHEN THE BALL WAS CAUGHT! Why hasn't this Childress man made a statement yet...is this Gillespie dude a football man or just a media director from T$$AA.

Just curious why would you make a statement that u acknowledged has NO meaning? All the threads about the game have already been taken down or locked due to meaningless statements like this...ijs

I hope you or anyone else have not taken my comments about the officials as a knock against WH, or implying that WH doesn't deserve the victory. That has not been my intent at all. WH had a great team and I have congratulated them, and I do not think the win should be taken from them. I just don't think that TSSAA can turn their heads on this one and let it go, without jeopardizing the integrity of the game. I would never want to take anything away from the WH players, coaches, or fans.......congrats again to WH.

I agree that the integrity of the game was compromised by the horrible officiating and hate that one of the greatest 6A football games in recent memory was tainted.

  16.

Disagree. He was pushed so that it changed his path of rush, but he was not pushed "into" the kicker.

If the push changed his path and his path ended up into the kicker then...(never mind, it doesn't matter I would prob feel the same way) but both teams had a chance to win. Whitehaven fair and square won despite the multiple bad calls on us. I do think the TSSAA should give some type of official explanation or at least an apology. But any implication that we didn't deserve it or that the refs gave it to us is bull
