  1. Well a week into season and the board seems quiet. What has everyone seen so far? Summertown and Forrest split a series. Summertown also defeated a loaded Spring Hill team in the Loretto St Patrick's day tournament to advance into the Championship game vrs Wilson (Al).

How do teams look to the East and West? Rockwood and Jackson Christian, Decatur Co Riverside, Peabody and Grace?

Jackson Christian and Peabody will be solid. And Scotts Hill still has some good talent although they only have two seniors. So they are still young. Riverside will not be a factor. Not very good. Their day has long come and gone.

  2. Anyone got  any prospects on their teams this year?

Scotts Hill has a couple of kids. Evan Russell is a Junior C/3B. Getting a lot of attention. Memphis is about to offer. Had multiple 1.8 pop times two weeks ago at an Area Code showcase in Memphis. Brady Moore is a sophomore SS/OF that is ranked in Perfect Games top 250 for the 2018 class. Both guys will play for Dulin's Dodgers this summer. They have some other guys that will get to play at the next level but those two should be locks to be D1 guys.

  3. I remember that coach. I remember the Marlins recommendation as well. He didn't impress too many people, although I hear he's doing well in his current position. I didn't say he or any of the other ones didn't have any knowledge, just that Ray surpasses them all.

Well most of the people that had kids on that team were very upset that he was leaving. A few parents may not have liked him but with parents you'll have that with any coach. Big thing was that joke of a Superintendent and his mini me below him. For one example those two guys went down to East Hickman and had a team meeting about with the players about getting rid of the football coaches and wouldn't allow the coaches in the meeting. They didn't meet to ask about anything immoral or any other wrong doings of that staff. That's very unprofessional and it's hard to coach at places when your bosses are a joke and want to keep things stirred up. And if you've ever been around Dr. Nash then you know that he is a joke. Britt has been fine since. 4 years at Scotts Hill and back to back state tournament appearances. The first two in the history of that program. But I'm a friend of his so maybe I'm being biased.

  4. There's something new starting this season. An in season tournament with state tournament caliber teams that will alternate sites from west and middle TN each year. This season in the first week of April, Murfressboro Central, Middle Tennessee Christian, Cascade and Summertown will travel to west TN and play Scotts Hill, Riverside, Jackson Christian and Lexington. West TN schools will host at their home fields. The following season it will go over to Middle TN. Should make for some great baseball.

  5. East Hickman has been pretty horrible since the start. Maybe the new coach can bring some stability and knowledge to the program. I heard that former Dickson Co. head coach, Ray Ragan, is his assistant. Don't know Parker, sounds like his legit, but Ray has more knowledge in his little toe than all the previous coaches combined. Nothing against any of them, but they were first timers and this past yerar were "okay, no one else wants it, I'll do it" kind of coaches. good luck to East.

You may want to study up on some of the previous coaches there before you try to accuse ALL of them of having little to no knowledge of the game. One former coach there has some experience that may surprise you unless you're too ignorent to notice it. After all the Marlins GM has recommended him for that and other jobs. As for Parker, I have to admit this is a surprise move but he is a great coach who has done very well everywhere he's been and I have a lot of respect for what he's accomplished. Best of luck Eagles!

  6. This guy lands some really good gigs.

His dad was over the TSSAA for years. I'm guessing that's how he lands gigs like that. Not saying he doesnt know the game but Ronnie Carter has some major pull. Plus he succeeded Joel Goff at Jackson Christian years ago and Goff is also at Goodpasture with a son that's a senior on the team.

  7. Lexington.......then everyone else! Lexington is loaded with quality pitching and defense. Their batting isn't loaded, but they have a few hitters. They will win a lot of low scoring games...

    Pitchers:

    P-Ryne Odle

    P-Michael Spain

    P-Ethan Small

    Returning Hitters:

    Nick Gulliam

    Michael Spain

    Jacob Bolen

    Tyler Yarbro

    Mathew Cagle

    Payton Anderson

    Ethan Small

The Yarbro kid can flat out hit.
