C'mon, just one corndog/hotdog paid per person. But that's OK, let's meet anyway at halftime. I used to let the Goons get under my skin with their antics and posts, but I respect the passion now and I don't let posts get to me unless: 1. people claim I said something I didn't, or 2. people personally attack the school, coaches, or kids of any team who are working hard to be the best they can be. Bottom line, life is too short to get too uptight about an internet chat board. There are too many other important issues in life.

There was way too much scrolling required on the last one. OK, CoachT fans from the team behind at half buys one corndog at halftime for one other team's CoachT fans. Deal?? The more of us that meet, the more free corndogs. C'mon, Coach, Matt, Robjim and others - back me up on this.

It won't bother these two teams - I just don't want to sit in it. No way it can be worse than last year. Should be a big crowd at least. Let's have a halftime CoachT powwow at the concession stand. I've never met a Goon in person.

What you posted was not a jab at me - it was an attack on HS kids and athletes. It was classless and hateful, and the moderators agreed. I gave you the benefit of the doubt when you claimed you realized you were wrong, but then you kept up the venom, so apparently you were not sorry for what you said, just sorry someone called you on it. BTW, isn't football season over for you?

Where are you seeing that? My computer says 59, calm, and 40% chance of rain. Perfect day for football and even some rain will not be a factor for either team. BTW, you don't make it to the finals without playing smash mouth football. CPA's starting defense has given up 4 TD's all year. You don't do that without a little smash mouth. We know what Alcoa can do and we know they have a great running game and back. We saw him last year and he was the difference in the game. It might interest you to know that Tyson ran the ball about 50 times last year and gained tons of yards, but we did hold him to less than 4 yards on 20 of those runs. I doubt if anyone other than Maryville did that last year or this year. Alcoa did not have to play much pass defense last year due to the weather. They will have to defend it all this year. Should be a great game. Winners like challenges and there is no greater challenge than Alcoa.

OK, you can stop posting how Westy "could not be stopped" by CPA. Westy scored 3 Td's (2 running and one on a 4th down pass) on 7 possessions against CPA starting D. Apparently they had some trouble running the ball on 5 of 7 drives. Yes, they got good running yardage but gaining yards without finishing drives, scoring and winning are two different things. Alcoa will get yardage on the ground against CPA. No doubt. Will be interesting to see if CPA will sell out against the run and force Alcoa to throw against man coverage. I would bite the bullet and hope Alcoa would struggle passing. But CPA coaches are smarter than me. We don't need trick plays. We just need to run our offense well. If we do, we will score points.

It was a joke and a jab at the Goons. You guys do it all the time. Of all people, you should not get so uptight at a jab. I will put a smiley next time so you will know. Seriously, I know Alcoa is not afraid of anyone and so does everyone else. Why should they be? We are just happy to have the challenge of playing the defending champs. I do think it will be a good game regardless of the outcome.

I have never posted anything to deserve that accusation or attack. if I have, please find the post and I will apologize. And for a Goon to accuse someone else of a "better than thou" attitude is the "pot calling the kettle black". I have never posted anything but respect for Alcoa and all teams, especially the kids. I do not respect those who paint all privates as cheats when they play according to the rules set by the TSSAA. Alcoa is the king of the hill in 3A, but they haven't won this year yet. Last year's game was not a blowout. The weather made the game one-dimensional and Alcoa was better suitedto win a pound and grind game were passing was impossible. Go back and you will read my post congratulating them for a great season, win, and championship. If they win this year, I will do the same.

CPA had the ball 7 times against Westmoreland and scored 6 and had 1/3 of the time of possession at best. Not saying Westy is close to Alcoa, but time of possession only matters if the other team does not score when it has the ball. It's all about scoring when you have it. If you score when you get the ball, you can't lose unless the other team scores and recovers onside kicks.

FVHS, Gerry, BPM and Nerd got the Final 2 right. If Alcoa wins, BPM wins contest; if CPA wins, Gerry wins contest.

Catch up with the discussion, please. Common sense is saying the system is broke and unfair. Hate is calling a school, its coaches and its players liarsand cheaters. It is also posting that you hope your team purposely targets CPA players for injury (which got the poster suspended from CoachT), and threatening to come in the stands to silence a HS band. Go back and read Postie's posts (the ones that have not been deleted) and you will not read disagreement - you will read hate and bigotry. One last thing - the system may or may not be fair, but playing within the rules of the system is fair. When the system changes, CPA will gladly play in the new one.

BPM, TO's early killed you guys. Don't think you could have won without them, but game would have been more competitive. One thing for sure - a great comeback season for your young men, and you have some good looking younger guys. May see you again next year.

A word of advise, bcd. Hate is a disease and nothing you say will stop its spread. Let them rant. Our team and coaches have worked hard since last year's loss to Alcoa, respect their opponents, and deserve respect. Reasonable people understand that.

We get it. We're like the Yankees and Notre Dame. Nobody pulls for us except our fans. But as far as tradition - we're working on it. 3 semis and one final in the last 4 years. Gotta admit though that as far as rings go, Milan and Alcoa rule the roost. We respect that and will keep working.

C'mon, BPM! You know the Goons better than that. It ain't love for Milan. It's them saying they would rather play you then CPA, which is disrespect for you, not respect.

It's very simple. The higher seed hosts. If both teams in semis have the same seed, home field goes to the opposite quad of the year before.

Looks like about 40 degrees, clear and calm for game-time. Perfect fall football weather. CPA in 4th straight semis, Milan too many to count. Lots of respect for each other and the rubber match for the seniors. Wish we were at home - somewhat disagree with the way home field is determined for the semis, but that's OK. If CPA wins, another chance at first 3A championship. If Milan wins, one of the great season turnarounds in playoff history. Reminds me of CPA 2002 state champ team who lost 3 of the first 4 (Ezell, Riverdale and USJ) then went on the road in the playoffs and beat 2 of those teams (Ezell and USJ), then won the state. Wish we were totally healthy, but rarely does that happen after 13 games in a season. Good luck, CPA seniors - 52-4 - let's make it 53-4. Nerd out!
