Really DB? No video tonight! No Tom Taylor. Not your own broadcast or even NFHS? What are you trying to hide? I guess I wouldn’t want anyone to see the booty whoop-n you about to get either. Oh well. I guess I’ll just have to video it myself.

And now I’ve been told we can’t bring our cowbells. They have their band sitting in the visitors section. And to add insult to injury, they are having their alumni band and seating them in the visitors section also. They only sent us 1,000 tickets. This is a really bad look for 6A DB. Maybe next year, we will only allow you to bring a pep band. Bunch of Chickens! LOL

Basically the DB administration and football staff is soft as baby poop

Did not the TSSAA arrange the schedules this season? Should they not help find another game(s) for teams that need them? Am I thinking wrong here?

I think they only arrange the Region schedules. The other dates are filled by the schools

I'll ask the question no one else is gonna ask... If Greeneville and Elizabethton both REALLY want/need a game so bad, why in the heck don't they just get together for a non region game with one another??? Split the gate 50/50, heck maybe even try to get it at ETSU. Have it Thursday and it would be the must see event in all of NE TN.

Everyone wants to run around fussing about Boone and West (that's a region game they MUST get in, and this evening would have been just as tricky as the last two) or the TSSAA, when as extremely simple, logical answer is right there in front of everyone.

Why would either team be remotely interested in doing this considering what is at stake between the two at the end of October? The issue here is Daniel Boone and Mo West. Both of these programs proved to be gutless. If other games that were affected could figure it out on Saturday or Sunday , so could they. They chose not to do so because of their upcoming opponents.

Sorta off topic but does anyone know what started the big fight between Unicoi and Elizabethton today. The game was at Cardinal Park in Johnson City. I was told it was a bench clearing fight that involved coaches and players on the field as well as fans fighting in the stands. Said they counted 11 police cars responding.

There were no coaches fighting and no overwhelming police response

  5. Ok , I'm not sure how this thread turned into a TKA bash fest , but this was not the intention of my first post. I was just commenting on a thing or two I observed at the State tournament while I was there and TKA was not the school I witnessed with the poor antics/sportsmanship.

  6. Message boards are wonderful things. They allow us to disparage those who have done better than us to make us feel better about our falling short.

There must be something wrong with the victors, after all, they couldn't just be better than us? Could they?

Just to be clear , my observations has NOTHING to do with the players on the field......the team I was referring to has great talent and they certainly showed it. My comments were more about the way the fans/students were allowed to behave toward other teams and not handled by coaches/administrators

  7. I am not sure why nobody will say it but I will! It's the TKA and it starts from the top. I have never seen such arrogance in any sport. I know you have a great team but handle it with class. You get players because mommy and daddy not what you have done you little arrogant pompous!! Shame on TSSAA for allowing the things that went on at State with this team. Hope you are happy with the trophy! You deserve nothing until you can teach your team to be respectful! Karma will come my friend!!

This is actually not the school I was referring to , but I did see some strange stuff with this one as well

  8. I have spent several days at the State tournament and as expected I have seen some very good teams and phenomenal softball players. But , sadly I have witnessed some appalling behavior from fans and parents. The worst seems to be certain private "Christian" academy. Their coaches and administrators should have to publicly apologize to their past two opponents. Vocally calling out opposing teams players by name and chanting the names of boyfriends, etc should never be tolerated. They really diminished the rep of their school and their fantastic softball players.

  9. Now, what was the Lady Cyclone's record up until last night as compared to the Lady Grizzlies? Take a look at what the Lady Grizzlies did to Middle Tennessee in the Christmas Tournament in Smith Co. Woo hoo! You played a good team in South Carolina. ONE GAME! The number of points anyone scores is mute compared to WHO GOT THE WIN! We have waaaaayyyyyy more of those than the Lady Cyclones. Check your records on that one!

At this time of year , I am pretty sure that the score of the one game is really all that matters.

  10. Tn Intensity 14u is looking to fill 2-3 spots for the 2013 season. We will look at all positions , but would be especially interested in a really good outfielder and/or experienced slapper Would prefer 98's , but will consider 99's if the fit is right. If interested in a tryout or more information , please contact Russell - TnIntensityFP@gmail.com. We are located in the Northeast Tn area (Johnson City , Kingsport , Bristol)

  11. I really enjoy reading these message boards and finally decided to post something once I saw several of the comments in this thread. First of all , I grew up in Unicoi County , so I have no allegiance to either Elizabethton or Grainger. I was at the game on Monday night (Happy Valley vs. Grainger) as well as the game last night. In both instances , the behavior of the fans from Grainger was truly disgusting. On Monday night , they started complaining pretty much as soon as they came in about facilities. Well , all I can say about that is the court is the same size at every gym regardless of the age , seating , etc. So get over it. I actually had to ask one of their fans behind me to please dropping the F-bomb constantly since my 6 year old son was with me. During half time , I had to take my son to the bathroom , once we returned , my son's jacket had been thrown in the floor in the aisle and those fans had taken our seats. I bit my tongue and moved on. Now , on to last night. The game was very entertaining and both teams played extremely hard. But during the ceremonies , I just couldn't believe that the Grainger fans were yelling out at the Elizabethton players , fans , coaches. I know losing (especially when they were previously undefeated) is tough. But , it happens. That is the beauty of sports. It isn't always someone else's fault and not every team that loses gets a raw deal. In my opinion , the game last night was very physical on both sides and Elizabethton just shot the ball better overall. But the night was marred by the behavior of Grainger fans. And believe me , I know what bad behavior for fans looks like (remember , I grew up in Unicoi County) :) Just my .02
