Congrats on your recent success 27 years ago.
The last time Gallatin Football was relevant (1992):
- The Top Song was I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston
- Bill Clinton was named Man of the Year
- The Dream Team dominated in the Olympics
- MTV actually played music
- The first text message was sent from a PC
To say that Gallatin hasn’t been relevant since 1992 is absurd. Sure they haven’t won a title the 92 season but there have been numerous teams that were highly successful since then. Gallatin has always been a relevant team within their region.

I watched the Facebook live segment on Saturday with Coach Watson on the WHIN page. Definitely seems like he has a great plan going forward. I’m excited to see what he will build with the football program.

I could care less about skin color. That plays no part in it to me. I want the best guy we can get period.
I too miss Bubba. He was a special kind of person and the world needs more people like him.
Coach Dunn was a great one.

Greatone, I think you played for Lassiter, correct? Key IMO "most recent staff"! Becker doesnt talk like any changes will be made and that is what concerns me as much as who the new HEAD coach is!
GO JACKETS!
A head coach that has a great philosophy can improve the assistant coaches. I’m sure whenever the new HC is hired they will look over everything that is done in the program. From offseason programs to individual drills in practice. If they don’t then that is more on the HC than the assistants.

Now this guy could play some ball!!! Welcome to the T!!
Thanks. Heard the news about Coach Williams. Was on to see how the search was going. Gallatin will make the right choice.

Perry was as successful against Oakland for one reason. Oakland was resting some key players for their second game against Maryville and hopefully at the time the Haven.
Who ever Gallatin gets I truly wish them good luck and would really like to see them a powerhouse again, which they COULD be.
One suggestion. Get yourself a GREAT STRENGTH Coach as well as a HC. Next schedule the entire teams PE period the last of the day and get them into the weight room for it. Then after the weight period either PRACTICE during the allowed times by the T$$AA or devote a couple hours for 'conditioning' as in running and exercising together as a way to really get to know each other.
Isn’t Gallatin still on block schedule in terms of classes? I know when I played fourth block was for weightlifting for the football team both during season and offseason. Good luck Wave. Earn the G

If Gallatins O-Line can play like they did against Shelbyville they can win this game. I listened to that game and it was by far the best game that Gallatin's O-Line has played. Good Luck Wave. Earn the G.

Having played for both Coach Williams and Coach Hardy I know that both teams will be prepared for this game. Good Luck to the Green Wave. Earn the G.

I think Gallatin wins this one. Coming off a blow out against Station Camp and the fact that Gallatin lost to Portland last year will be the reasons why Gallatin will be motivated to win. Gallatin still has a long way to go. Defense has to step these next few games. It is getting down to crunch time and Gallatin needs win out to carry some good momentum in to playoffs. Good Luck Wave.

Watching Gallatin play D against the wing t last night gave me hope the wing t is not totally obsolete.
A lot of the spread concepts that teams use now and days originate from the wing T package. Still the same misdirection just now you have the defense spread out. Hendersonville is known for running a good Wing T offense. Defenses have to get under traps, contain and stay at home in order to defend.
-
Great win by the Green Wave. Way to step when the time came. Got to listen to the game from the internet and was impressed at the resolve that Gallatin had to step and fight all game.

Gallatin won that night 14-7. A sign maybe...
Hopefully of good things to come...

I just now realized my photo is from the 06 GHS/HHS game. That game was the last time GHS/HHS was played on TV.
-
With the way these two teams can score this game is going to come down to either a big special teams play or key defensive stop. The defense has to be ready to play and force three and outs....

Lets just concentrate on Hendersonville. This is going to be a huge challenge for the Wave. Hendersonville always is fundamentally sound and runs the wing-t to perfection. I am worried about containing the buck sweep and stopping a mobile QB. They spread the ball around really well. You can't key on one player, you have to stop the scheme. Assignment football. I would like to see some aggressiveness on defense.
Defense has to be able to stop the misdirection from Hendersonville. With a mobile QB it adds to the strain of the defense to stay at home and play your assignment. Gallatin has to control the line and watch for counters and traps.

If the Wave can start fast they win this game.... If not and they start slow like they did against Stewarts Creek it could be a long night.
-
I even said this...Gallatin must not overlook opponents. They can sneak up on you in a heart beat. That being said. Great job by Gallatin on making adjustments at halftime to win this game. Got to learn not to take things for granted. Good job Wave!!! We don't lose to Hendrrsonville!!!
-
Nope. Why do you now support SC as a supposed former Wave who won championships? Did you feel mistreated and/or did your kid not pan out to be what you thought him to be on the team? Do you blame coaches, administration?
It has to be one of those issues. I just don't understand that. If you did win Championships then you would think you would continue rooting for the wave to get back to that caliber.
-
Gallatin wins, but don't overlook opponents. They have a way of sneaking up on you. Team has to focus this week and forget about what happened on Friday. Play every game like it is your last. Good Luck Wave.
-
Listened to the game. Gallatin defense was just gassed by the end of it. Offense needed to take care of the ball more. Definitely a good game to listen to. I do believe like you said GWAVE Gallatin did grow up some tonight. Nothing to hold their heads down for.
-
On everything that I have heard so far, Gallatin is much improved from last year to this year. This game tonight will definitely tell how much improvement Gallatin has made. The problem that I see is if Gallatin wins tonight they are still going to get ripped because people will say Beech is doesnt have thier star RB. While that may be the case Beech still has plenty of athletes on that team and no matter how good of a RB you have you still have to have a OL to block for him. It is going to be a good matchup either way. I hope that Gallatin can win this game. Good Luck Wave.

Are the games still streaming on the WHIN internet page?
Watson resigns at Gallatin

I hope that the guy that is hired leads the program the way it should be. The town, kids, and fans deserve it. I'm sure whoever they chose understands the expectations.
