  1. They will definitely have to score more than 12 points in the first half to even keep it close... LA is coming off a big loss to David Lipscomb so they are going to be on a mission.. I still think PC has the edge playing at home.. if they are leading going in to the fourth they should win.. But they will have to contain Dunn and Ramsey.. If they can do that then they should be just fine

LA team is not all about Dunn and Ramsey, They are good players and Dunn is the Real Deal, however, you had better watch out for the other 3 players as well and the 6,7,8 man comming into the game. They can hurt you on any given night and they play "D" ,that could be a problem for the Bobcats. LA wins in a close one, and it will be fun to see who gets the "T" first Bibb or Melton.

  2. Then there is a problem somewhere.

IT GOES BACK TO THE SAYING " TEAM IS NOT SPELLED WITH A "I"

TEAM BALL WINS BALL GAMES NOT "ME" BALL, IT SEEM THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE "TEAM" CONCEPT. AND THEIR PLAY REFLECTS IT. TEAM HAVE STAR PLAYERS, HOWEVER IF THE STARS CAN'T DO IT BY THEMSELVES AND THE STARS DON'T USUALLY PLAY ANY "D" , AND GOOD "D" WINS GAMES.

    GOOD LUCK PC

  3. why did la not play in midsouth clasis this year close to home good comp. and i think they would have fared well.they played in years past but story was at touney that la coaches couldn't have their way so they wouldn't come they are the losers because of the local exposure their clubs lost in not being a part of the elite teams in this area.

I THINK IT MIGHT HAVE HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE WAY THINGS WAS RUN LAST YEAR. I RECALL ONE GAME LA BOYS PLAYED IN, THE OPPOSING TEAM HAD A PLAYER TO UP CHUCK ON THE FLOOR, THE GAME WAS STOPED AND NO ONE WOULD CLEAN UP THE UP CHUCK. AFTER WAITING AND WAITING COACH MELTON CLEANED IT UP HIMSELF SO THE GAME COULD GO ON. THAT WAS BAD I THINK. I DON'T KNOW IF THAT HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT OR NOT, BUT IT COULD HAVE. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO WATCH LA CLOSE TO HOME.

  4. We have played good at times, but we can't seem to hold a big lead. We were up 20+ at halftime against a team out of Pennsylvania ,in Orlando this morning, and let them come back and beat us by 2. When we get the big lead we seem to go to YMCA ball and forget all about team ball! <_<

I think because we are so young we just haven't learn to hold the big leads. To do this we have to take good open looks, watch our turnovers, we seem to turn it over more when we have a big lead and we seem to be in a hurry. The clock is your friend use it and take the good looks. However if the ball just dosen't fall you can't help that. LA will get better every game. The loss in Orlando this morning was a heart breaker for some of the players I know they reallly wonted to win.

  5. You heard right. It was kind of a bogus call though, the towel was like a foot on the court. But he had to have known he was gonna get ejected for it, because their was one ref who seemed to not like the way Melton was talking to him the whole night, and he was the one who called the second T.

I think the ref was mad at LA's fans the whole gym was on their feet booing the ref for the 2 bad calls he had just made. So he took it out on the Coach . As for the towel deal I didn't see that, guess i didn't pay that any attention beacuse he is always hold and tossing towels. But I also understand that most ref don't like Coach Melton and they are just waiting to T him up, Which is sad because that hurts the kids, and the game is about the kids. not the coaches or the ref.

  6. yeah meltons ejection was a big momentum change.. dekalbs post should dominate more than they do. refs were horrible in this game. not blamin it on them but the callin some unnesscary calls

And missed alot of critical calls that could have changed the game outcome. Is the Porter Wagonner look alike ref , the big tall with the Wagonner hair do from Dekalb Co? I don't know his name.

  7. Hey guys. This is 'Pat Riley' himself. I just wanted to say congratulations to the coaches and players at Goodpasture on a well-played game. You deserved to win and we here at LA wish you the best of luck. You guys were a class act and won with the same class you played with. Our season ended a little earlier than we wanted and expected, but as I told a tearful group of young men afterwards, GOD has a plan for us and we need to try to just enjoy the ride.

As I never give them what they want but don't need, I won't address people like Tennisguy personally. However, I'm always looking to get better and improve and everyone can count on the fact that LA will work as hard as anyone else if not harder to be successful. Oddly enough, I agree that we need to improve everything about our game. We'll definitely work on some if not all of these things. Experience is the best teacher and we are trying to learn from our mistakes everyday, every practice, every game. I for one will be the first to admit I am not the best around, but I'll try to find a way to outwork everyone else and NO ONE cares more about his players than I do. So I take everything that Tennisguy says as a complete compliment to our program here at Livingston Academy.

The rest of this is for my players, (especially the seniors):

YOU are exactly what our program here at LA is about. Words can't express the gratitude and compassion I have for all of you. You seniors have led the others to make this the BEST first year any coach could have. You all are a class act and I am honored for you to call me "Coach". You know you have my respect, but here's proof you've gained the respect from others outside of LA. Seniors, thanks for the ride and I'll always be here for you if you need anything and will always be your #1 fan. Underclassmen, get ready to work.

Thanks, too, to LA fans for all your support. There's not a better place to be.

Lastly, thanks to Coach McCoin for all of his support. He's been one of our biggest fans all season. He's a great person and good friend. Just one more classy person at Livingston Academy.

Thank you Coach Melton for a great year. Thanks for putting the time into our kids and away from your own. We love you and support you. OH your dress is fine except for that one "stripped suit", had us all talking.

  8. Who knows! From what I've heard there is much confusion about the vote tally. It seems that it has changed several times. Sounds a little fishy to me. MVP, First team, Coach of the Year, etc. changed after it was origianlly announced.

changed what do you mean CHANGED?

THEY DON'T JUST CHANGE THEY WERE VOTED ON ???? BY EACH COACH ???

    ON PAPER ?????

  9. Oops. better check that info. Not sure how, but I think these results changed after the meeting!?!?!?! :thumb:

how is that possible the results can't just change from the meeting, where everyone knows the results before they leave their. sound to me like something is not on the level.

  10. Hello, It is John Trevathan for the Hilham Tigers I just wanted to say thank you for your congradulations, I appreciate that we have finally earned respect from other people rather then just being told," Aww, It's just Hilham, Nothinbg to worry about." Hearing things from the crowd must be a bad thing Kendall Melton is a good player and I hope Allons does great in 2A TNT State Tournament. I know what you mean by the intensive crowd that was there monday i hearded everyone cheering for us but Allons did make a great effort in a long run I'm just glad that maybe someday all of us from Allons,Hilham,Rickman,LMS,and Wilson can play for Richard Melton next year. I look forward to playing with them on the same team and getting to know them better as players and as how they act off the court. Thank You again i cant even start to say thank you to everyone for all the congradulations, Thank You

GREAT POST JOHN, I DON'T KNOW YOU, BUT YOU HAVE TO BE A GREAT KID.

OTHERS ON THIS BOARD SHOULD TAKE NOTE OF YOUR POSTIVE MIND SET.

CONGRADULATION TO THE BOYS AND COACH ON YOUR WIN.

  11. After the game turns out the way I am predicting it I will be truthful. I will tell it like it is and say that LA played their butts off which they will, and I will also say that DC just wanted to win the game more. Were you at eaither tournament??? did you see any of the games DC played in???

LA's cockiness is only apparent to those who are looking for it or to those who know any of the players personally. For years they have acted like they own 7-AA in all sports and that intimidated teams from the past but not ths one. This DC team sees this game as just another must win situation. Friday night the tigers will only see white jerseys, not white jerseys that say wildcats or livingston academy.

Tidwell: like i said before, there is a world beyond coacht. Dekalb played a game on Friday Jan. 20 at home against Monterey it wasn't on the schedule and the score is not posted on caoacht (i think it was a make up game) DeKalb won 86-3?. I'm not bragging about beating a mediocre team, i'm just stating the facts.

You keep talking about LA's cockiness, and how you know them personally. Just who do you think is cocky? LA has a great group of kids on that team, however it seems like when you are on top and winning games people think you are cocky and don't like you when they really don't know you at all. Get to know the team and you just could find out that you like them. They just like to win as much as you and your team does and that does not spell cockiness. Looking forward to a great game Friday night, and DeKalb will be welcomed to the LA's gym as always

    Go LA!!!!

  12. I don't think there is anything wrong with LA, but when they were both fighting tooth and nail they had even talent. This year LA doesn't have quite the athletic talent that JC has.

LA does have talent, the combo on the floor is not always the best, they are having a hard time getting the right mix. They are hot and cold on shooting which means you have to find the shooters that are on for that night and let them play. I know good shooters have off nights and some times it takes them a little while to get hot, but that doesn't seem to be the case with the LA girls if they are cold they are cold, they also seem to play better when they are pressing and playing tight D and they did not do this against JC. however, LA girls are good and I wish them the best. by the way they have not lost a district game and yes LA always wants to beat JC I don't care what class they are in.

  13. I don't see it happening this year. You need to make sure you worry about Upperman, Smith co. and York. No offense intended. Congrats on your football championship!

I don't know they have already won against York, could be a good year for the

    lady cats, go LA
