  1. They haven't played a 1A team this year. They have only had 1 game decided by less than 2 td's, and that was to a top 10 team. Their last 2 games were against teams that throw the ball 40+ times a game. Some of the throws that were completed were great, but probably would have been incomplete 70% of the time. For example, JCS scores on a 59 yard td. It was 3rd down and like 30 for a 1st down. Our DB breaks on the pass to intercept and misses. JCS deserves credit, and I am not trying to take any away. The point is when you play teams like that, they are going to score.

Not to disrespect anyone involved but USJ and JCS should be Single A teams enrollement wise.

  2. Hypothetical Question.

Let's have some fun with this. How many teams would it take? With the budget crisis coming next year with rising costs of living, what will have to happen to get changes for the schools.

What if they all played a conference only schedule? Ouch. Imagine the lost revenue.

The major leaguers refuse play because they can't get paid millions of dollars. Can the teams do it to keep from losing money?

What about this? Let's form a team or school union to negotiate with TSSAA. STRIKE! STRIKE! STRIKE!

How long would it take to make the TSSAA negotiate? or go out of business!

For the life of me, I don't know why the member schools keep puting up with the T$$AA. I think there should be a revolt and start a new organization.

  3. Comments like these are the reason I debated long and hard before I started this thread. After all, we are THE team to hate. Coach Dyer has had a lot of misinformation put out there thru the years by a lot of people jealous of his and USJ's success. He is a great coach and even though I know he was disappointed with the way things turned out (we all were) he loves his players and I don't believe for an instant that this scenario actually happened.

I can assure you that it did not happen!

  4. I heard Coach Dyer might be looking for a new job after making the USJ players pull off their jerseys and hats after the game and leave them on the field and told them to leave. Shame on him

I can tell you for a fact that this did not happen! I don't know where you get this type of information but you are very misinformed!

  5. Those rankings don't mean squat. All that matters is what the teams do game by game in the tournament.

Agreed, but why not have the brackets a little more equal? Why have most of the better teams in one bracket?

  6. May be a stupid question, but any idea of the strategy/process behind making the brackets especially in AA and AAA.? May not be a big deal, but there sure seems to be a "lack of balance" between the upper and lower brackets in these 2 divisions?

    According to TBCA

    AAA

    Upper Bracket Ranking

    Bartlett 2

    Mt Juliet 3

    Oakland 6

    Science Hill 4

    Lower Bracket

    Arlington N/R

    Ravenwood N/R

    Lincoln Co 5

    Farragut 1

    AA

    Upper Bracket

    USJ 2

    Gibbs 7

    Goodpasture 1

    Marion Co 3

    Lower Bracket

    David Lipscomb 5

    Ripley N/r

    Anderson Co 6

    Bolivar 4

  7. You're whining, hasbeen - and I'm just pointing out the diaper you're wearing because of your incessant whining about a ridiculous event that happened at a meaningless game on a field the condition of which was much more important than finishing out a pointless game.

By the way...we don't need luck. We're here, we earned it, and we're ready to play anyone. We are Oakland.

    They are Oakland.

  8. No wonder why USJ always makes it to state, because all they have to do it win the region game, because substate is a joke. That other region couldn't even compete in girls softball!

USJ has no control where they play, that is dedcided by TSSAA. Matter of fact, they would be playing in 1A if there was not a 1.8 multiplier. Even so, ever since the multiplier they have made it to the championship game. They must be pretty good to play in the last game of the season each year.

  9. Participation in the game will be primarily limited to the seniors who have received all-district regular or post-season honors in 2008 from districts 12AA, 13A, 13AA, 13AAA, 14A, 14AA, and 15A as well as Middleton High School and Fayette Academy from 16A. Nomination forms have been faxed to the coaches at these schools. If you did not receive a form, please contact Brandon Shields at the Jackson Sun at 731.425.9751.

  10. I am back from school. I wasn't able to stay for the whole game. However, I came for the pregame warm-up and talked to your son and a few others. The field looks great this year. It makes me sad everytime I come out there and watch a game, I miss it alot.

Best of luck to you guys in the up coming games. If and when you make it to state I will be sure to come and watch a few games.

    Come say hi to me
