Sequoyah has a transfer from Central Chancellor is his name. I believe he plays LB. We only have a couple starters returning we lost 10 starters on offense and 8 on defense.
-
From what my son tells me around 35
-
There was also a head coach spotting for the first time in 4 months or so at Sequoyah High School yesterday
-
Sequoyah has a scrimmage May 9th @ Gibbs
-
Ryan is the OC at Powell. I promise there will be no wing t while he is around lol. Ryan was the OC at Sequoyah last year
-
Anyone know where the OC went? The couch?
-
On a positive note on the QB position he is one of the hardest workers on the team. I'm sure he will struggle some due to lack of experience but he seems to be determined.
-
I'll put this into perspective for everyone. On offense the chiefs lost every single starter except for one. On defense the chiefs lost all the starters except for the MLB and the DT's. The team will be very young. They need to have an exceptional spring practice.

My son tells me the defense is probably the most prepared they have been all year I will stick to my prediction SQHS 21 HHS 0

How far away is Hixson from Madisonville?
-
I have read and read the last few days about coaching vacancies around the state. My question is why fill a position with someone who has previously been there for one and two why more people don't give the younger coaches a chance? From the many years I have watched football from Memphis to Cookeville I often wondered if some of these schools that are having down year after down year could use a little energy, passion, and new life. I guess I am asking why more people don't look to the young coaches or why they aren't given a chance more? Just Curious
I completely agree with you. Some teams especially the more unsuccessful ones could use the passion energy and excitement that you no coaches bring to the table. I can see if a big name program wanted a HC with experience but a team that really hasn't been successful for a while should give the younger coaches a shot.

Back on topic now dumdum what's Hixson look like on film?
-
There's about 60 people who will tell you right now it's not the truth.
-
Not saying that we would beat Fulton or anything like that but for someone to come on here and say that boys and coaches don't want to go that deep in the playoffs is just disrespectful.
-
. You may. But I can promise your coaches and players don't. It would be bad.
So you speak for our players and coaches? There is only one possibility that we play Fulton and that is making it to the semis. So you're saying that our players and coaches don't want to make it that far? That's just plain stupidity and ignorance.
-
I think we can get to the semis. One game at a time though. Our offense will have to step up and not turn the football over. How's the concessions at Hixson?
-
I hope Catholic wins this one simply because no one should have to make that drive to Signal Mountain it is a little worse than horrendous.
-
I know stats don't mean anything but for anyone who is interested here are a couple stats for the two teams.
Hixson scores 28.8 points per game and allows 13.3
Sequoyah scores 33.3 points per game and allows 10.8
So it looks like we have 2 very good defensive teams and 2 decent offensive teams. Also for people that don't know just how close Sequoyah was to being undefeated their 2 combined losses were just by 10 points. One they lost by 3 and the other by 7.
-
Looked like Sequoyah's offense started struggling again last night so I am going to say Sequoayh 21 Hixson 0
-
What's everybody's thoughts on this one?
-
Wish nothing but the best for Chatt Central in the future.
On to Hixson.
-
East Ridge by a TD
-
Signal over Marshall 56-0
East Ridge over Hixson 21-14
Catholic over Dekalb 42-7
Sequoyah over Chatt Central 35-7
-
